We were on line with you. I remember walking out of the Boardwalk at 8:30am and looking across the lagoon. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the line all the way past the dock. By the time the boat got us across, the line was to the end of the Yacht Club. We didn't get into EPCOT until 10:30.

We were probably standing right next to each other and didn't know it. I think we got in around 10:30 too.
Did you see some of the people who set up little tents and air mattreses around the world showcase lagoon thinking the Midnight fireworks were going to be shot off from the water? Bet they were upset when that didn't happen and they staked out that spot ALL DAY just to see Illuminations!

I was going to comment on that. I noticed it on the bridge connecting UK to France. I couldn't believe how prepared some people were.

We had a quiet morning sleeping in since we went to Mass last night. Then this afternoon went out to Woodridge and had a nice dinner with Mark's aunt and uncle. First time we've ever gotten to spend time with just them and it was nice. We went to White Fence Farm for chicken...yummmmmmm! Cindy have you ever been there. Really good food and it neat place with lots of antiques etc.

Queue up that Twilight Zone music, Mary!!!! :cool1:

We were out that same way today and just talking about how Cameron & Walker have never been to White Fence Farm. I'm sure they would love it in the warmer months when they have the animals around. I need to look it up and see if they still do that. It's been several years since we were there.

We spent the day out at Gary's sister's in Wilmington. Mary, depending on what time you went out that way, we could have passed you on the highway. :wave2: I'm sure Gary would have noticed, he's much more observant that I ever will be. Wilmington is south of White Fence Farm (I think) so we drove right in that same area.

How's that for a weird coincidence? :earseek:

Can, between who went, give a better explanation?

I thought Illuminations for NYE was the regular one with a whole extra sequence on the end with the extra barge they only bring out for July 4th and NYE? Have they changed this?

I don't know how they usually do it but when we were there for NYE 1999 into 2000 the Midnight fireworks were shot off from behind the American Pavilion.
People at the Epcot resorts probably had a better show then some that were in the park

It was like they packed for a weekend of camping! It was pretty wild!

Great chat tonight, everyone!!! That really was a blast!

Good morning Amy - it was a great chat. I was in chat over 3 hours! That has to be a new record for me!

So what is on everyone's agenda today? I'm going to try and relax and do some scrapbooking starting with our June trip.

We'll tape the Rose parade and watch it when Mark gets home (he's working today). Sadly it sounds like it is going to be very wet. I told him I didn't think I had ever seen it rain on the rose parade and they said on the news last night that the last time it did was in 1955!

Cindy - that is wild! Yes some of the animals were out yesterday. The goats and the llamas. Mark even fed them (they sell the pellets in the machine for a quarter). I don't think you would have noticed us driving because we didn't drive. :rotfl: Well we drove over to his aunt and uncle's house and they drove from there. We went through a huge industrial park on the way. I was in the back seat so I don't think I can honestly tell you what roads we were on.

On my agenda, more cleaning of my office/scrap room. One of my new year's resolutions is to do more scrapbooking. I have all these supplies, but my room has been SO disorganized that I can't get to any of it.

My goal is to get my 2005 pages done before our May 2006 cruise.

So Amy - are you going to post something about the circle journal for SSMC05 so we can get started?

Yes, I'll try to get that done today. I'll post it here and on the SSMC05 thread. Then, we'll have a deadline to sign up.

Thanks, I'll have to remember quarters when we do venture out there for dinner.

I just looked at their website, did they have it posted at the restaurant that they are closed starting today for the next month? Looks like you had the 1st and only meal in 2006 there for a while. :rotfl2: I'm so glad I thought to look it up online. Sometimes I get an idea and it sticks with me and we'll do it spur of the moment. That would have been a LONG drive to find out they weren't open until 2/1/06. Talk about having to wait in line. :rotfl2:

I didn't realize the petting zoo was open year round. I think we'll all enjoy it more come spring and the milder weather.

Ahhh, okay, so we wouldn't have noticed you, but if we were directly in front of you, I'm pretty certain you would have probably recognized us based on Gary's license plate. That would have been really weird to see you on the highway.

Chat was fun last night. I'm glad Diana let me know you were still all over there when we got home about 9:30. I wouldn't have thought you would be and would have spent the rest of the night doing something else. 3 hours :faint: all of your fingers must be tired from all of that typing! :rotfl2:

How's this for a goal. My goal is to finish SSMC05 by the end of January. I have about 12 pages left to do, so it is totally doable. Check back Feb 1st to see if I met the goal!

Mary and Amy, be sure to post pictures when you get finished!

And Amy, I can't wait for the CJ to start up! :cool1:

Cindy - yes I did notice that they were closed until February now. I guess they do this every year. I do think it would be best to visit the animals in warmer weather.

Amy - I'm excited that we are getting started on the circle journal. I think it will be great fun!

ATTENTION: SSMC05 Cruisers

We have been talking about this for months now, and finally, we are going to try to start our Circle Journals for SSMC05!

You pick your own theme (because we were all on the same cruise, this could just be as easy as Favorite Photos, Favorite Activity, Yummy food, etc).

Here are some 'rules':

Each of us will buy a book that we want our CJ in (6x6, 8x8, 6 1/2 X 10 or 5x7 are preferred for easier mailing). You will come up with a SSMC05 theme for your book--it is TOTALLY up to you but be creative! You will create the first page with an introduction as well as some sort of sign-in for your book. Some people do a page where everyone can sign in with information about themselves; I've seen other variations. Do whatever you want. You will then send your journal to the next person on the list, who will do a page according to your theme. Each month you will receive a journal to add an entry to, and at the end of a year you will receive your book back, full of the experiences and wisdom of the people in our CJ group.

This is a YEAR LONG commitment, please do not sign up if you are not going to be able to make that commitment. You are committing to completing a page and sending it out by a specific deadline each month. You will be responsible for postage each month. I would suggest USPS Priority Mail with delivery confirmation, so that we can keep track of the CJs. If these are not commitments you are able to make, PLEASE do not sign up for this circle journal group! We are trusting you with little bits of ourselves!

I have done a few CJs in the past. I normally decorate the front and back covers - in and out. I create an introduction page about my theme and any instructions. Then, I create a sign in page (this can be as easy as just numbers and everyone signs with their name and the date they did the CJ, up to blank tags for everyone to embellish with their picture, name address, email, etc.) Then, I create a 2-page layout in my theme.

Most of the work is doing your own book initially; then it is just 2 pages per month......So is anyone interested? Send me a PM if you want to be a part of this!

Please sign up by 1/13/06, because our first mailing date will be 2/1/06. Then, the CJs need to be mailed out by the first of each month, until we receive our own CJs back.

After we have all the sign ups, I will create the mailing order and create a Yahoo group or maybe just a thread on the Community board under the craft/scrapbooking area for our CJ.

I will also post this under our SSMC05 thread, but I posted here first because SO many of us from SSMC05 are going on SSMC06.

If you have any more questions, let me know. I'm going to try to get my CJ soon and start, so I can post pictures to give you guys an idea. Also, you can go to www.twopeasinabucket.com and search for Disney Circle Journal to get LOTS of ideas.

Count me in Amy. I have a question. When we get a journal do we do one page in it or two? If it is 2 I'm assuming they are the facing pages. Can you please confirm.

Thanks!

Thanks!
Actually, it's really up to each CJ creator. You can have everyone just do one page, or you can have them do 2 pages. And yes, if it's a 2 page, it's usually 2 facing pages. Because of the smaller size of the CJs, I think that 2 pages is good because it's not too big, but enough room to put a couple pictures and some journaling.

Another thing, if you're signing up, please send me a PM with your mailing address. I can't seem to find my list from the DVDs, so I'll need the addresses to set up the mailing list.
