Hi everyone :sunny:

Trying to recover from all the rain here in so. California! Amazing what happens when we get rain. People just don't know how to drive in it here. They're just not used to it. The news shows "Storm Watch, 2004" at any given time. It's a riot :hyper:

Haven't been posting for a while. Things are tough here. Our 10y.o. beagle was just diagnosed with perianal fistula disease, an auto immune disease common in german shepards. She's had two surgeries regarding it in the last 9 months before we knew the real reason. Very hard. Now trying to do as much research as possible to work with this yucky disease.

At any rate, I check in here very often and am so glad to see all the banter and exchange of info. Makes me so excited for our trip!

Have a great day all!

Sorry to hear about you pup. I can very highly recommend the Vet School at Colorado State University, in Ft Collins, CO. They were fantastic in the oncology department. Because of them we have had the company of our older Malamute “Yuki” for the last two years. They are very cutting edge. The Doc was going to let me sit in on the surgery but there was not room in the OR as there was a team of 10 working on her. Might be worth a call to them for a referral.

Photo from local newspaper.

If there is a poll of early vs late seating, Lee and I have the late seating.

Ok, I am trying to save some money and would like to get charts to plot our progress on this cruise. I really don't want to get a GPS, I am an old map and compass kinda person. So I am trying to recall the info that is on the TV in ones cabin, on the From the Bridge channel. I remember there is heading, ground speed, sea conditions, but for the life of me I can not remember if it tells one the Lat and Long, I think it does, just can't remember. Anyone recall?

Scott, I'm almost certain that Lat and Long are included on that one channel along with speed, heading, and sometimes a map showing the general position of the ship.

Pretty cool stuff! Have fun plotting our course!

Cheers, Kara

I pretty sure that they give the direction, speed and latitude. Not to be confused with the changes in latitude and changes in attitude.

Bob,
As it has been said, some of the best navigators don’t know where they are going till they get there.

Had to rescue the thread off of page 2.

How is everyone doing so far? Hope we all have a safe halloween. Just got back from 9 hours of drive monorails and I've got a long day tomorrow.

Stayed up late last night, as Lynn will be working late tonight, got up late, for me, just to realize we did not set any of the clocks back.

It snowed here last night and we have a couple of inches on the ground. Time to take the camper off the truck, move the motorcycles, winterize the camper, put weight in the back of the jeep and truck, all those things we will not have to do when we live in FL. 2 years 6 months and 30 days, but who is counting.

Have a great day and a great week, we will cause at the end of it we will be going to WDW, yes......

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!

Scott, I'm so sorry to hear about your weather. Wow, a couple of inches already in October? No wonder you are counting the days till you move to Florida. We are having a beautiful day here, nearly 70. Perfect for all the little trick or treaters. This is not the norm however, usually it is quite cold, but no snow! Our time is coming, they say it will be bad here this year, I hope not........But it will be my last winter in Connecticut!:teeth: For me if all works well, I will make my move to Florida in 11 months.

Also, if the information you need is not on the "report from the bridge" on the room TV, I remember down in the lobby by guest services, don't they have a chart that is updated to show our location? I've been considering buying a book from Amazon called "Cruising the Ports from Florida to California via the Panama Canal" This was written by a Captain Rains. The book is pricey, and has more information than what we will need for our cruise, but it does look interesting. I've had it saved in my shopping cart for months.

"424 pages, 350 photos (many aerials), 100 GPS-accurate charts with anchorages, soundings, hazards and GPS approach waypoints. Many of the Rainses charts are of tiny anchorages too small to appear with sufficient detail on NIMA, DMA or government-issue charts. Text contains great detail, more than 1,000 GPS positions en route."

Who knows, I still may buy it anyway! ::yes::

Have a great day everyone!

Robin

Sandra, yes I saw that last night! I don't know how much she is allowed to spill, but hopefully she will give us some clues.

Do any of you know when they announced the excursions for the special Antigua and Puerto Rico cruises? I mean how far in advance did Disney let the cruisers know? Isn't there some new thing in effect that if we pay in full early we can book excursions early? Was it 60 or more days out? I seem to remember reading 90 days out we can now book excursions if paid in full. That would mean we should hear something in 3 months?:teeth: Anyone know for sure?

Robin

Sorry to gripe about the weather, actually I used to really enjoy winter. Guess I am just tired of dealing with the other side of winter, like shoveling snow, winterizing everything, etc. Still like to get out and X-C ski and snowshoe, etc.

Well Dick will be town tomorrow to vote, hence the Blackhawk helicopter are flyingin today.

Back to getting the camper winterized.

Well, I'll take the two inches of snow vs. the 40 mph winds we had yesterday.

I know when you refer to Dick who you are talking about, but I'll beat someone else to the punch....."Who's Dick?" Don't forget the black Surburbans.

Time to set-up scary decorations for the trick-or-treaters!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Hope everyone had a great Halloween. My daughter will be on the ceiling for awhile anyway! The rest of the holidays will be here before you know it. I can't wait until our weather gets a little cooler. Its 89 here today and actually a little humid! Well, hope everyone has a great week! We are going to see Carrot Top Thursday. I have heard he is very funny. Hope so, cause he sure is UGLY!!!!!
