Scott,

I forgot to ask you onboard, how many malamutes do you have? I love them, but they don't do so well here, the people I know who have them keep them inside out of the heat, but they still shed like snowstorms and are really unhappy... you'll have to just hug yours for me!

You had to put the unbrulee up didn't you????

Speaking of questions not answered, does anyone know how much that hunk of Panama canal went for at the 'Ducky' art auction? I'm dying to know, but I was packing at the time and didn't take the time to stay for all of it...

Renae,

It went for $5000. There was a bidding war between two people and the guy who finally won took the chunk by going from $4000 to $5000. The woman who was bidding against gave it up then. It was pretty fascinating. As we were leaving I heard an englishwoman say "Who would pay $5000 for a piece of concrete?" Michael and I couldn't stop laughing!

How can we ever thank you enough for all the great gifts!!

Thank you to everyone who delivered ALL the little surprises to our room!!! My children enjoyed finding all of the gifts.

Cindy, Mike, Allison, JC, Chris, and Katie

Does anyone how much did the navigation maps go for? I thought it was at the auction on the second Wednesday or so.

I know they were selling both maps together -- East of the canal and west of the canal.

THANKS Laurie! We had never seen this. How wonderful for Lisa + her husband to put this together! :goodvibes THANK-YOU! THANK-YOU!

It is too funny that you mentioned the unbrulee...my husband and I mocked that dessert last night!

We made it home Tuesday night and I have been lurking ever since. I am suppose to be writing my final paper for school- so I am on the disboards! What else would I be doing. (I have also been catching up on the programs I have on tivo.)

We (mostly) enjoyed Disneyland. My sister came down from Utah- so we were with her and her family later Saturday and all day Sunday. Robb and I have always "discussed" which was better- Disneyland or Disney World. We both found things we liked better at Disneyland- than at Disney World. But- overall I think we are Disney World people. On our honeymoon at Disneyland ten years ago- Robb remembers how people (adults) kept on jumping ahead in line- and not to meet people. We were suprised how this continues to happen today and how we had our stroller stollen four times in two days....this has NEVER happened at the world. However- we were suprised how much we liked the rides in Fantasyland and Buzzlight year was awesome!

I have to apologize-
Robb and I had an old list of staterooms for the sailaway gifts. We found that after dropping them off at everyone on 5,6, and 7- we didn't have too many left. We found there were many magnets at rooms which weren't on our list. We probably missed people or put them where they didn't belong....who knows! So we didn't deliver to the other floors.

Robb had a great time. He wore his lanyard the entire time we were at DL.

We enjoyed meeting everyone! We look forward to seeing you in the future.

By the way- I took the new job in Chicago....
I went into Rush and accepted the position yesterday. (More parking money for Tap & Dap....I will be getting the parking receiver for your garage)

I'm not positive of the final amount - I forgot to write it down. I want to say it went for $5200, but that may be off by a couple of hundred.

I swear I am always completely lost...what happened to Leslie? Yes, it was nice having empty spaces at the pools and Castaway. Did the hammock race and I did'nt eveb have to! Oh well, it was fun even though my 7yo passed me. I am in such great shape! :rotfl2: I was sad to see that a couple people passed away during the cruise though! I was also at that auction and could not believe the bidding wars. My DH actually got a bid paper and I laughed thinking he thought we could actually afford something there! ha! Oh well, it made him feel important!

Work, is work and there is a big pile of it here waiting for me, Oh well.. 1 year 11 months and 28 days.

We have three Malamutes, ....

Unbrulee Rules, NOT!!!

Fun seeing everyone at DL. Glad the crowds thinned out a little on Monday.

Leslie we hope all is healing up.

$5200 was the winning bid on the maps, glad I was not there, Lynn was real glad I was not there.

Hope to get to our photos tonight before I leave on Saturday.

Better get back at it.

Laurie,

I can't believe it went for that much! I could do another cruise for that, and would, in a heartbeat... I wonder what Don Williams thought of that going for more than his artwork? He was such a nice man, though, he probably got a great laugh out of it!

thanks,
Renae

Wow, that video is great! It's funny to see it speeded up like that, onboard it seemed so smooth to us that we could hardly believe we were being raised at first. What an engineering marvel that canal is! Big hugs to Lisa for doing this!
Renae

Celeste,

Good to hear you're back at the 'books'...lol. I'm supposed to be studying too, but here I sit! CONGRATS on accepting the Chicago job!!! Now you will have even more reason to come to WDW so you can warm up in the winter...

Eric and I had always thought WDW was better, but we had Tony and Adrienne for our guides on Sunday and we got to see DL through their eyes. We had lunch at Blue Bayou (we don't have one here) got to see the Club 33 door open! (none here either), and got to visit the Disney Gallery and get a guided tour. Aside from their castle being 'too short', we really loved it there. There were some things we had forgotten about, and loads of new stuff like the Indy ride. We LOVED their fireworks too. VERY well done, and I didn't think anything could top Wishes...

On the other hand, DCA was a HUGE disappointment! Walt built DL to get away from that kind of thing, and it made us sad to see it there. We loved Soarin' of course, but the rest of it was a waste of space to us... I know we are unusual in that we don't really like roller coasters, but it was sad.

Eric gave me another surprise when we got there, a concierge room! It made coming back to reality a little easier because we didn't have to pay for lunch that day... Paradise Pier was really beautiful. We walked around the Grand Cal. and it was wonderful too, those stained glass doors into the lobby were stunning! It reminded me a lot of Wilderness Lodge in some ways and not in others... We forgot to go to the DL hotel, too much to do, but remember it from older trips.

It was cool to go back now as CM's and feel the difference. I'd love to do it again, and again.....

have a good day all,
gotta hit the notes...
Renae

I have to say I wasn't overly thrilled with DL and DCA. Individual rides and areas were amazing, but the overall feel for the place wasn't as magical. It could be that I kept finding the rudest people and kids on the planet.

The castle isn't short, the trees are oversized ;)

Robb and I both walked in and looked at each other in confusion. He asked me if they changed the castle for the celebration- to a smaller one?

I hadn't remembered it being so small.

Joe + I loved DL :goodvibes , but were really a bit too tired to really get up and go! :faint: We met dear friends and had so much fun sharing everything of our 2 days with them! Joe couldn't get over the small castle (smile!). I absolutely LOVED the Pirates ride and the Indiana Jones ride. I guess what I loved the most was that Walt Disney himself actually walked through that park. We did the Walk in Walt's footsteps tour with many DIS friends too!

There were WAY TOO MANY PEOPLE there for Memorial Day Weekend! We asked about special Memorial Day pins (there's that 4-letter word!) on the morning of the 31st, and were told they sold out of them on the 30th... the day BEFORE. :rotfl2: Remaining 50th T-shirt sizes were S and XL. When I asked if they could check in the back, they simply said they were sold out and hadn't anticipated the demand. :rotfl:

Gee... they just started the 50th celebration on May 5th, and they are already sold out of the merchandise... ;)

We would like to go back to DL and take our time noticing all the details. While we didn't like the crowds, we were glad we chose to go. CA was okay, but neither of us do the high thrill rides.

Now... what about that REUNION CRUISE!!!

Yes, it's hard to get back to reality!

OK everyone - please quit picking on our "small" castle. It's the only one we west coasters have. ;)

Ken
