Celeste,
Good to hear you're back at the 'books'...lol. I'm supposed to be studying too, but here I sit! CONGRATS on accepting the Chicago job!!! Now you will have even more reason to come to WDW so you can warm up in the winter...
Eric and I had always thought WDW was better, but we had Tony and Adrienne for our guides on Sunday and we got to see DL through their eyes. We had lunch at Blue Bayou (we don't have one here) got to see the Club 33 door open! (none here either), and got to visit the Disney Gallery and get a guided tour. Aside from their castle being 'too short', we really loved it there. There were some things we had forgotten about, and loads of new stuff like the Indy ride. We LOVED their fireworks too. VERY well done, and I didn't think anything could top Wishes...
On the other hand, DCA was a HUGE disappointment! Walt built DL to get away from that kind of thing, and it made us sad to see it there. We loved Soarin' of course, but the rest of it was a waste of space to us... I know we are unusual in that we don't really like roller coasters, but it was sad.
Eric gave me another surprise when we got there, a concierge room! It made coming back to reality a little easier because we didn't have to pay for lunch that day... Paradise Pier was really beautiful. We walked around the Grand Cal. and it was wonderful too, those stained glass doors into the lobby were stunning! It reminded me a lot of Wilderness Lodge in some ways and not in others... We forgot to go to the DL hotel, too much to do, but remember it from older trips.
It was cool to go back now as CM's and feel the difference. I'd love to do it again, and again.....
have a good day all,
gotta hit the notes...
