Hi all!

To add to the questions above (which are great bobandlee) I'm wondering if I really should convince my DH that dressing as a pirate is THE thing to do pirate: I'm so afraid that all the pirates will be on late dining and we'll be the only goofs in early! My son is all gung ho, no problem, but as for the rest of the family? :confused3

Guess I should go back about 37 pages and read about the pirate night again! :cool1:

No, you won't be the only people dressing up at first sitting. Everyone at our table will be dressing.

While in my little part of Margaritaville earlier this evening, I imagined being on Deck 9 in one of the hot tubs. While enjoying a cool libation, I watch as the smoke slowly drifts from the smokestack toward the stern. I ponder many questions about the cruise..........
Back to reality. But there still are questions.
  • Will there be one or two Midnight Dessert Buffets?
  • How many formal nights would I need a tux, if I decided to wear one?
  • Do I get TWO character breakfasts?
  • What special shows and gifts does Disney have planned for use?
  • Will the Magic have enough Krispy Kremes for the whole cruise?
  • Has anyone really started packing?

Also, is anyone still planning on linking dinner rotations for the late sitting?

Some of the anwsers

1) yes
2) 2 formal and 2 semi formal suit fine..
3) No
4) Ducky Williams will be doing 2 lithograph's that I know of one is like a certificate for going thru the canal and the other for going on the trip.
Also there is a special return cruisers gift..
5) Ok well Hercules is gone..... and a new show will premiere on the cruise..Cinderella or something like that.. the entertainment staff will be inpart new as alot of contracts willl be ending..

6) the Magic has a large freezer and from the 10 day cruisers the anwser is YES.
7) No

As for the linking of the dining times we think it is part of the fun meeting new folks at dinner (WE HOPE) Yikes.. we have been very lucky in this area
and on just our last cruise #7, not big fans of the table mates other than that we have had some great folks we have met..

Almost forgot the DISclaimer , all is subject to change and none of this information has been actually verified by Disney cruise line.... :wave2:

Thanks Susan (and DH) Where are you having them made if I may ask? Our cruise is only 99 days away, is there enough time to have this done? Your DH is very talented, thank you so much again for sharing.

Robin (aka Brunhilda Pink Toe pirate: )
98 days = 14 weeks

Should be no problem. To be safe we'd probably want the pins in a May cruiser's hands no later than the end of April. So to hedge our bets the pin should be ordered by March 1st.

Hi:
I am new to this board and posting. My family will be on the cruise, Rm. 8052. We would love to be added to announcements or signups for scrapbooking and any other events you are planning (forgive me, I haven't gone through all the posts). There are 5 of us, DH, me, 21, 16 yrs. old daughters and 12yrs. old son. Looking forward to a wonderful time, sharing hints and ideas with everyone. We are longtime Disney addicts and are staying post cruise at DL. :earsboy:

We were at Palos that night and bearly made it out on deck for the party. We didn't see what everyone wore to dinner, if it's pirate wear we are in for pirate dress at first siiting.

WINE TASTING
We are going to bring commemorative wine glasses for the wine tasting.

Welcome abaord hmrgang , glad you found us. Look around here or someone (usually Peter) will post the link to the web site for this group. Then jump right in and join along.

Welcome hmrgang. Lots going on in this group. There's a pre-meet on 5/13, a pre-sail meet on 5/14, a wine tasting gathering on the first sea day and a snorkling excursion on Castaway Cay. There will be scrapbooking (with a grab bag swap) as well as stamping get togethers. We will be playing door tag as well as "swapping" gifts at the pre-sail meet. All of this is yours to participate if you want. All you have to do is to post what you want to participate in. Also, check out http://www.tiggerfan.net/canal/ to get lots of information.

I can't find the website that showed the actual time for the shuttle on May 14. Now, everything I read shows a 'in the window of May 12 - June ...."

Anyone got a direct link to the status of the shuttle?

Thanks.

Shari thanks for posting the other link

Great!! I'm looking forward to seeing them. All we need now is someone to be the champion for the custom pins.

I am so freaked out right now. After checking out all the happenings here on our cruise thread I decided to check out the Canadian Trip Planning Thread (since I'm Canadian) and there was a post about the Police in Toronto (about an hour from where I live) looking for infomation about a hotel/motel/resort that was the scene of a 9 year old girl's repeated sexual assault in approximately 2001/2002. Since we've travelled to many different places I thought I'd see if I recognized the location since the individual that posted the thread thought that it was Disney's POFQ. I clicked open the link to the police bulletin only to be now staring at pictures from Disney's Port Orlean's Resort (French Quarter). I grabbed my Disney scrapbook from our 2000 trip and sure enough the pictures matched those of our room. I called the crimestoppers number and the lady I spoke to thanked my for calling but advised that earlier today they had received the same confirmation from many individuals. It creeps me out to think that I stayed there in 2000 and you just never know that maybe this family was in the next room.

Now back to happier things.....Bonzie1 and Q's My Princess - I use Avery Personal Creations Ink Jet T-Shirt Transfers. I purchased mine at WalMart both here in Canada and also in US. I've had great success with mine (however, I must admit that the t-shirst I've made haven't been washed too many times but they are still holding up.

For the "newbie" scrapbookers who asked for tips for the grab bags...anything goes....we will be able to find a use for just about anything or you could always go to your local scrapbook store and explain to the clerk what you're doing and I'm sure they'll help you out.

Bob, I love the priorities - ie: Krispy Kremes, Midnight Dessert Buffets, and Two character breakfasts! LOL Good questions though..

I have one more trip down to Florida in April before the cruise. When I get back from this one, then I will start packing. I will have exactly a month to get it together.

I would love to link dining with any of you. I currently have early dining, and am seriously still considering changing it to late. If we could get a large group together or at least on the same rotation with tables nearby, I would change to late in a heartbeat! I would love to see other's replies to linking?

Robin (aka Brunhilda Pink Toe pirate: )

Dear Ms Pink Toe
I have read of your interest in dining late and I, as a matter of fact, am a person who is assigned to late dining, and learned on the 10-day that, without going into all the gory details, I can no longer just eat and crash without suffering a degree of backlash that actually caused me to lose weight on the cruise. Now, I really would love to dine with fellow DIS-people from this board but I would rather not have to sleep standing up...so, would you care to switch with me? I am currently waitlisted for early dining but would trade places with you in an instant as long as you are not assigned to dine with some known ruffian or other obnoxious type of no-gooder..
Sincerely, Ms Mighty Ripper and Swarthy Dog

Welcome Gang

Welcome hmrgang! So happy to see that you are joining in and will be part of our group! My DD Aimee 18, will also be glad there will be another person close to her age!

Good morning ALL,

Just noticed that Cat 8-12 and Cat 4 are available for this cruise. Looks like this state of flux will continue for a while.

The way things are going here I think we (DIS board folks here) will comprise about 10% of the cruise. I think that is pretty significant.

I have a tux suggestion for Bob, just ware the jacket, shirt and tie with a grass skirt, kind of an Hawaiian Kilt. Just something that might be seen at a Parrot Head Phlocking.

Lynn's formal dresses from overstock.com arrived and she is happy with them, phew!!!!!

Robin,

Sent you a PM...

Bye, Kim

Happy Saturday to ALL!!!

Welcome to all the newbies! Thanks for the info on the iron-on transfers... and for the suggestions for the grab bags. I'm feeling good today (yea!), and may just make a trip to get started on the creative side of the cruise!

Also, to those who may be concerned about being the only ones dressing up... don't worry. Even if you were (and you won't be), a Disney cruise is a place where uniqueness is embraced. :grouphug: Enjoy yourselves! :rotfl: Make it a special time wherever you go. :goodvibes When all 6 of us dressed in black + white at Animators Palate and then wore the glow necklaces... we were ths only ones, but we were having fun! :rotfl2:

My DH has gotten used to my zanniness, and, while he won't come right out and admit it, I think he looks forward to what I may "cook up"". :love2:

Thanks for everyone's well wishes! Enjoy spending your gift of 86,400 seconds today!
Georgie
