In the grand scheme of things, I dont think this is where you would go wrong....they are made of foam and probably only weigh a few ounces....LOL, but I feel your pain.

Right now every ounce will count. I am just making peace with the face I will be shipping down a couple of boxes and most likely paying overweight fees or additional piece fees....I just dont see any way around it...

C'est la vie...

Michelle aka NEM

Well we will have 2 boxes (the ones that paper comes in) and actually have thought about a third. But I do not think it will come to that LOL.

We will not have additional piece fees...at least going down to Florida ;)

Now if they made blinkie thingy Birkenstocks.....that would be cool :3dglasses

Laurie,

You asked Scott where he bought his snorkel gear but I thought I would mention where I got mine to give you more options.

We bought ours from Snorkel-Mart (www.snorkel-mart.com). They had a pretty good package deal for two which included fins, mask, snorkel, two reusable underwater cameras, de-fogging drops, a fish identifying chart, and a large mesh duffel bag to store everything. I don't remember the cost off hand but you can check their site for current specials. They also included prescription lenses for mine. :3dglasses

They are pretty good quality but reasonably priced. If you are looking for an inexpensive set, you can check your local sporting goods store, Target, Walmart, or Costco. They may not have much of a selection until summer gets closer.

Hope that helps!
-steve

Thanks for the information Steve & Scott! DH (Prince Charming) dug his snorkel gear out of the multi-purpose sports bin (i.e. really big mess) and found everything but his snorkel. I need the works so I'll start researching! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Laurie, We went to Costco to get our snorkel equipment. It is US Divers brand. I like it alot. Good fit and the snorkel is dry top. It has a ball float device that keeps it dry when you go under water. Just blow upon resurfacing and you breathe again. They still have them here in Indy. We got ours last year. They must be a hit as they have them back.
Scott, Is US Divers a good brand?
Also, are the lighted thingy footy thingy whatevery thingys ,,,, flip flops?
In order to have some idea of what was going on, I more or less scanned the posts. I've been in southern Indiana. You guys are a scream!!!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Bill,,,, Keeps it dry under the water

Hi everyone,

Well we have a lovely day in NH today. We spent the day with Peter & Jen
( hygiene 99) and went to the Olive Garden and had a super lunch. Then the bad news..... We decided to make a quick stop at Wal-Mart, well I spent a little more than planned, however the memory card for my Mini camcorder was on clearance. Now for the real fun news, Jen & I found summer flip-flop sandals that have lights in them, as you walk the light blink, they were real cheap $ 7.00, of course we are bringing them on the cruise...

Time to go pay a couple bills and get ready for a new work week...

Bye, Kim

Would Also Like to Let it be known that I did Not Spend One Penny. In Walmart but did however Push the cart.. and give Jenn The hundred dollars she need to the pay the Bill.... Webmaster Regina KEEP SHOPPING.
After what seemed like forever the 3 lady's Met Me Out At the Truck ..

oops, forgot to mention...Mine had them in the shoe section..in cardboard bins...I would not have known they were there had I not already heard about them and was looking for them...they blend in with regular flip flops.

Do they make them for kids too?!

:sunny: Great Day :sunny:
Should have just sat on the deck and read all day, but like a fool I worked outside all day.
Picked up all the neighborhood trash that seems to find it's way into the nooks and crannies of our yard. Then there's the old flowers and leaves. Mowing. Fianlly got to clean the fish. And feed them for the first time. :fish: They've been active for a while now. Wasn't a feeding freenzy, but they were hungry.
Time for snacks.

Yes, they have them in what seems to be all sizes. We got a pair for all the girls, so that would be from child 9/10 to adult 9.....

Speaking of pins-----

Here's my two cents worth. We "assign" one person each day to be the "head" pin person. They get in line at 6 a.m. or so, stand there all day, read a book, and force all those non-disboard vacationers to waste their day in line also, cuz once the first person gets in line, the line will grow and grow and grow. Now, every person this gets in line behind you gets told "the rest of my family will be coming after dinner at 6 p.m. to join me in line." Then at 7:00 every disboard family member shows up to meet up with their "sister" or "brother" or "mom" or "dad" for that "family reunion" and then there are about 100 of us in line before the rest of those idiots that stood in line for hours.

So do you think that will cause a problem?

:rotfl: :rotfl:

Hey "Sis" :rotfl: To pull this off, don't you think we should all wear our matching "kingdom to kingdom" pin shirts? Just one big happy family! :grouphug:

Bill, US Divers is good stuff.

Linda, Thanks for the Captain info. I thought I read some where it was to be Captain Henry. Last May Captain Henry told Kelli and I it would not be him on the repo cruises.

You are a brave man Peter!!!! If you ever noticed inside Walmart’s they have benches for that very reason. Remind me and I will show you and any others the universal man hand symbol to use when your buddies question you about something you did for your wife. It is G rated.

RE Pins – My thoughts, while I am not a pin collector. I would like a set as a remembrance to go with my map and lithographs. There should be a means by which we (those sailing on the cruise) can get a set without the hassle of standing in a line. Such were my comments to DCL.

Now I believe I will stand in a line to get a lithograph signed by Ducky.

Scott, these are my feelings exactly! I also emailed my comments to DCL, stating basically the same thing. I can't wait to hear the response. In the interest of good customer service, and fairness, I told them I felt that everyone who wanted to purchase one set, should be able to without the choas of standing in line for hours.

Robin

Here I thought I was done shopping. :confused3
Today I was sent an e-mail about Margaritaville flip-flops. Now I hear about flashing ones. Decisions. Decisions.

Okay, to continue the snorkel conversation...

I seem to remember talk about needing some sort of wetsuit...is that right? If so, will we need it for all locations? This isn't a full wetsuit is it? Give me the details! :sunny:
