Thank you Mary, very nice. I just got the docs for our RCI Alaska trip. I know we will have a great time. I have 4 families to 'meet' from the CC cruise critic not Castaway Cay) thread.

I miss you all :disrocks:

Mary, your thoughtfulness continues to amaze me. Thanks for those great reminders of a magical journey. :grouphug:

Hi Therese....how much of a discount, just curious.

Hi Angie.....have fun on all your cruises....very jealous. Thanks for the good report on Disneyland.

Hi Sue, have fun on your Alaska cruise, one day we would like to do that ourselves.
Please give us a brief trip report when you get back.

GaRry get better soon OK.

And Thanks Mary......It was just like yesterday wasn't it.

Gus

Gus,

Not sure - I just know a couple of west coast people signed on at the last minute because of the huge discounts - when they return I will find out.

Take care,

It does seem like yesterday........I'd do it again in a heart beat.

Gus....we are still at an "IF" stage for the Dec '06 cruise. Our kids would miss a couple of days of school...right before their Christmas break. We'll just have to see how they are doing with their grades before we let them out.
Some of the teachers will give them work to do before a trip, some make them wait and do make-up work after. And we always make them keep a journal that they can turn in to their English teachers for extra credit.

There are a LOT of rooms open on the Mexican Riviera cruise (DCL) on June 4th .....we hadn't planned on it, but we signed on at the last minute. You can do that one....you still have two weeks to get ready!

That really was a totally unexpected, unplanned T.O.P. !!

Honest!

Hi Therese!! Sounds good to me! That is our very quick little 50th celebration weekend. We gave up a one week stay at Disneyland when DCL called about the cruise.

We'll be at the Grand Californian....but keep in touch with me as it gets closer and we can plan to meet!!

I'm afraid we can't do that one......but maybe sometime in the future.
I'd like to do something we have never done before.

I still have to swim with the dolphins you know.......

Gus

Afff - what about the May 27th, 2006 cruise. Two stops at Castaway Cay, Cozumel, Costa Maya, lots of 10 day DIS'ers on it. We'd love to have you join us.

Stacey,

Thank you I will keep in touch - boy what would we do without these boards! We will be staying in Long Beach with our son.

I also see you have a mystery cruise - we almost took a Celebrity Cruise the first week in April - but opted to go to Aruba - it is almost a guarentee on the weather there - plus the snorkeling is great there.

take care,

Therese, we haven't been to Aruba....we've spent ten days on Curacao and another year we spent ten days on Bonaire. We've only missed the "A" of the ABC's!

We wanted to try this particular cruise because of the price, for one thing, and the ports. Jay & I have been to them.....but we wanted the kids to see them. Belize, Roatan, Cozumel and Cancun.

Well I guess you can say we are just starting - and Aruba is Fantastic - one thing is the people - they are SO NICE!!! and so proud of their island. We are going back again next April with 3 other couples - and I am really looking forward to it! - then maybe we'll move on to the B's! tee hee.............

Opps - and I forgot to mention the CASINO's boy did we have fun at them! the second day there - we stopped at one and my husband played Roullette he put $10 on his 5 numbers - he hit - then he played the same 5 hit again - we cashed out and went next door to the next casino - (5 min walk) same 5 numbers hit - we left - again moved next door to the next casino - same 5 numbers - hit again - played them again - hit again - so there was one more casino in this group so off we went - and you guessed it we hit again! We cashed out - and went and had cocktails on the beach! Lots of Laughs and said hey you think we can do it again - then my husband took me shopping at the Gucci store downtown for a new pocketbook! We gambled all week - and didn't come out down - not once! Needless to say I Love Aruba! Plus the excursions were Wonderful!!!

Hi Mary....just checked the school calender.

Problem is, school and the kids.

May 22 / 2006 is a school holiday, too bad you all aren't on the cruise a week earlier. ( Is there a cruise a week earlier? ) I'll have to check.
Missing 4 days of school isn't as bad as missing 5.
I'll have to check the long weekends for 2006??????

Gus

Gus - yes there is a cruise the week earlier. Problem is it doesn't have the two stops at CC and is an Eastern which has stops you've already been too (St. Martin and St. Thomas).

Come on - what's one more day off school :) Just kidding - totally understand but wish you could sail with us.

We went into the casino at the Mariott on Curacao.....but none of the others. They're really small....and I hated playing with guilders. I couldn't tell if I was winning or losing!
There is a casino on Bonaire, but it's at one of the hotels near the airport, so we never went there.
Congrats to you guys though! That always makes it nice!!

Gus & Mary......talking about the May '06.....I guess for once I'm really happy that our kids get out of school early. It sure messed up our plans for this summer. But at least I'm guaranteed that it won't mess up the Double Scoop!!
