Gus - I sold my Excursion, 10 cyc 4x, for $18,500 us last year. It was '01 with 40K. It had everything but leather. I had always done the maintenance at the dealer so all the records were together. Down here ppl can be so hard on suvs you really need the history. My neighbor bought a used Durango and has had nothing but trouble with it.

I am looking for a good reason to visit Ft Wilderness. My nephew,7 and niece,4 are waiting to go again. Right now we are going to Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort, in South Carolina, for a week the end of April. We usually go to WDW but my sister wants something different.

Sue

OK Sue.....I just checked Hilton Head on-line.

I think I am really becoming quite depressed about not joining DVC.

Must you be a member there to visit?
It looks very nice.
How long have you been with DVC? Would you recommend it?
DW questions the annual fees associated with it.

Personally I'd love to join, because I love to travel.

 Hi there!

Gus, I'm with Sandy.....my idea of roughing it is a hotel with no room service!! ;)
But Wilderness Lodge would work for me!!!

Good luck with the next vehicle! I must be one of a minority....I actually fill in the repairs/maintenance in the back of the Owner's Manual...it's only fair for the next person to see...and besides, I always maintain my verhicles. Nothing to hide.

Yeah right! I can just imagine you changing the oil! LOL!!!!

Paul

FYI.....I DO know how...and I USED to do it myself.....waaaay back when.......before I got too old to get under the car.....before I started paying a fortune for fingernails......before.......NEVER MIND! You're right! :rotfl:

Gus - I love Disney's Hilton Head resort. I am not DVC. I have the Disney Visa and get good breaks at HHI and Vero at least twice a year. In the fall the Disney Visa is $99 a night for a 2br villa, normally $165. We are paying $200 a night end of April, normal is $274. I have looked at DVC for years and it just isn't for me. I am older, no kids and I don't want the annual/monthly payment. The Visa has nice perks that I take advantage of. I also like having the villa cleaned daily, something that isn't done for DVC members. And someday I have dreams of camping again.

I am excited about the Explorer, good luck.

I checked into the Disney Visa a few years back.
It is just for Americans.......too bad I would have signed up in a second.

Hey what happens when you pay for a Cruise with it?

Gus

I can't believe that about the Visa. Wonder what the reason is? With the Visa I get to carry the cost of the cruise for several months and no interest charges. No interest on any Disney vacation I charge for 6 months, as long as I make payments. I think we get $1 for every $100 I charge, that isn't much but it adds up to a shore excursion or two.

Sue

Gotta love those Disney Visa Rewards! You are right, they aren't a lot, but better than nothing!!
I'm curious, too, as to why the rewards aren't offered to Canadians......:confused3 how odd.

Are you out searching for a car this weekend, Gus? I was with my friend years ago when she bought a used Explorer. She was test-driving it, and I was digging in the glove box for the Owner's Manual. She wanted to know what I was doing....I was looking to see if the previous owner had left any info in there.......there was a receipt for new tires, and a few for oil changes. She was laughing, she said she wouldn't have thought to look.
Guess I am just a weirdo. (shut up Paul!)

I have a Visa with travel rewards....every dollar spent you recieve 1 travel point.
100 travel points equal 1 Canadian Dollar. You can book any type of travel using your travel points through their travel agency.
Yes it is not very much, but it does add up. Just looked at my last bill. I've got $238.00 I can spend on travel so far.

I know I am going back to WDW some time, so I would have used that Disney Visa for sure. I'll just have to use the other points instead.

I am keeping my fingers crossed Stacey.....I found one with maintenance records, but with a small dent and a scratch. Dealership said the mobile dent guy with fix everything and will look brand new..... we shall see.
I made sure that was in the sale agreement.

Everything else about the car was great.

Tuesday is the day............

Gus

Gus, I'll keep my fingers crossed on the car!
I have a couple of future cruises booked. We're doing the Mexican Riviera in August, the May '06 Castaway Cay Double Dip, and I have us booked on the next 10 Night Christmas cruise, Dec '06.....not sure that we will actually be able to do that one, the kids would miss a lot of school, but it's on hold if we can make it work.
Who knows, maybe I'll sneak another one in there somewhere!
How about your family?

Nothing yet  :bored: :tilt:
The repositioning cruise to/from California ( which ever the one was during summer vacation ) would have been nice, but it is sold out.

Has DCL ever talked about a cruise to Europe. That would be nice to the Mediterean Sea in France somewhere and then off to Disney in Paris.

Dream on....I think I'm going to google that.

Gus

I've never been to Europe at all. I guess I'm more of a "Caribbean" vacationer.

I think Barb, (jilljill) has been there. She was supposed to go on the 10 night with us, and then couldn't.

You're getting a little warmer with that second one.......just a little further south. I've always thought the French Riviera looked good.
