I LOVE the shaggy dog thing! DS can just go on and on and on and on..... Hmmmm, wonder where he gets that from?

Stace, keep us posted on the apartment thing. I remember talking to Jay about that one morning at breakfast. I'm just taking notes from those of you who are a little farther than I am in the parenting thing. Note to self: Never have a home with an "in-laws" quarters, then the kids can't move back in!

When my ex-dh and I built our house we put in a huge parking pad for our rv. After we sold it ex-dh asked MY parents if they would like to keep their motorhome on it. And the rest is history. My Mom and Dad slowly moved in. So watch out for big parking spaces in your yard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:rotfl2: Too late for us....we have a 2 bedroom guesthouse and the apartment!!

It does make a nice transitional thing for the kids...if you can get them to leave!

Not sure if there is a by-law in these parts regarding RV's and driveways.

I'll just say I'm packing or unpacking it, if any bylaw enforcement officers pay me a visit. It won't be there all summer, perhaps it will, we still do not have our Explorer.

It's 2 very long stories ......I won't bore you with the details.
( Stacey...almost had to do the credit card bill reversal thing again....we shall see, they still have our down payment as I type this )
Dealership couldn't provide the maintenance records for me......so back out tommorrow to a Ford Auction Mega parking lot to go shopping for another one.

By the way, I just remembered........Freddy Fusion ( the guy with the duck on the cruise )
I saw him unloading his equipment in front of Jessica and Erik's school in January. I just couldn't believe my eyes.
I jumped out of my car and introduced myself...( said something like, what are you doing here)
So I helped him into the school with his suitcases.
He said it was too cold for his duck that day.

It turns out he is Canadian ( from somewhere around here ) and knew someone in the school who set up his performance that day.

Oh ....and another thing he chose Erik from the audience to be part of the show that morning. ( Erik has never met him before )

That was too much of a coincidence for me.

Just thought I'd share that story with you all.

Gus

Sorry about the car, Gus....something will work out!

Too cool about Freddy Fusion! And lucky Erik! Wow....That is a really small world. Funny going from DCL to a school...someone must know him and he's ding them a favor.

Gus - Bummer about the Explorer. Did you get rid of the van? Can the van handle the trailer?

It took me just a few weeks to get the hang of loading the trailer.
We would leave every Friday right after work and come home Sunday late. It was just me, ex-dh and dog, travelling every weekend, little trip down memory lane.

We try to leave every Friday night, but it is to the next gymnastics meet.

Hi folks! It's been quite a while since I checked in on the DISboards! I am so glad to see many of you here! We've been keeping busy lately, in fact, so busy that we don't have another DCL cruise booked still!

We're headed to St. John for a week in early April and meeting some friends who are sailing on the Magic that week when they stop in St. Thomas!

Hey, is anyone doing the cruise chat later tonight?

All the best to everyone!

John

Hi John - nice to see you here. Wow a week on St. John - sounds like heaven. I'll be in chat tonight!

No I still have the van....it was supposed to be traded in.
Saw another vehicle yesterday, still shopping around.

The van will not tow the trailer, at least it won't for very long until something breaks. Too heavy.

Where did you go every weekend?

State park or a private campground.

Gus

Mary, sorry I missed the chat on Friday evening, was just too tired after all. Torey was at a scrapbooking retreat this weekend so the kids and I went to bed early. I see you and Mark are heading back to WDW soon. Torey and I are going to SSR for a fews days around Memorial Day. Looking forward to that. May have to buy those annual passes DVC is offering with the $100 discount!

Gus, glad to see you are doing well too! Sounds like you are getting in to camping in a big way. You have so many beautiful places to go in Canada I imagine that will be great come summer time!

We still haven't booked another DCL cruise. I am so tempted by the PC cruise but we just can't make it work -- Cat. 11 is around $6K for 14 days - what a deal! I know quite a few of our Xmas Cruisers are going on that one. It will sure be fun!

Take care everyone!

John

Gus - I live about 2 hours from the Skyline Drive, Shenandoah National Park, 2 hours from the Washington National Forest. Several KOA (at the time) were within a 2 hour drive. We usually headed to the Skyline Drive. The rangers all knew us and invited us to their homes for dinner and chat. For vacations, 1- 2 weeks we travelled. WDW Ft Wilderness of course, Estes Park in Colorado, Badlands and Mt Rushmore, Maine. Loved to camp and we normally stayed in the Natiional Parks, they were less expensive than private. And I sometimes miss it.

How about you? Sandy is a Marriott/Hyatt kinda gal, if I remember:confused3

Sounds like you have lots to choose from in your area.
Whats it like to camp at WDW?

Yes, Sandy's idea of roughing it is a black and white TV in a Ramada.

Great!!!!!!!!!!!! Level sites:cool1: . I can't begin to tell you how wonderful it is to camp there. Clean restrooms and campsites, easy walk to pools, camp store, activities, WDW transportation. Since we don't have an RV we stay in the Ft Wilderness Cabins in Ft Wilderness. That way I can wander thru the camping loops and see what ppl really use vs just the rv shows. Will you be going to Ft Wilderness?

Clean bathrooms are very nice aren't they.

What a great idea for our next WDW trip.......Ft Wilderness Cabins.

Thanks for the tip, that will be something I can research on the internet.

Maybe one day we will camp there, you never know.

Hey guess what.....we signed our 3rd purchasing agreement for an Explorer today. We shall see what happens.
Am I being too picky, all I want is maintenance records for a 1 year old car.
Is that too much to ask?????????????

:headache: :duck: :charac2: :charac4: :bored: :magnify:

Gus - I sold my Excursion, 10 cyc 4x, for $18,500 us last year. It was '01 with 40K. It had everything but leather. I had always done the maintenance at the dealer so all the records were together. Down here ppl can be so hard on suvs you really need the history. My neighbor bought a used Durango and has had nothing but trouble with it.

I am looking for a good reason to visit Ft Wilderness. My nephew,7 and niece,4 are waiting to go again. Right now we are going to Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort, in South Carolina, for a week the end of April. We usually go to WDW but my sister wants something different.
