It's usually quiet at this time of day. Taking the kids to their activities, having dinner, you know.

Yay for single digits!

OK - for anyone that is interested I put up 6 of my scrapbook pages on the web site. Just go to where you would go for the newsletter and there is now a link called scrapbook.

All 6 of these pages are my 8 1/2 x 11 from our May 2003 cruise. They don't show any embellishments, but they do show how I do the pictures, background and any journaling all on one page.

Please note that to save web space we saved that at about 50% quality so the letters won't be real sharp. The actual pages look better.

Enjoy!

Feedback as always is welcome.

AWESOME! I love them! They are beautiful. I love how you have things by category....desserts, towel animals, etc. Instead of just chronologically looking through pictures. :)

I'll have to show these to KT. Maybe she'll want to do a page about the lab or, more specifically, the counsellors (esp her favorite...Kerry--the one she's busting with anticipation to see!)

It is the Epson PictureMate (no model number listed). The PC Magazine test was in the November 16th issue. The actual printer is smaller then it looks in the picture. It take a special ink cart that comes with 100 pieces of 4x6 paper. The ink and paper was something like $29.95 at Office Depot when I was looking at it.

Here is what PC Mag had to say about it:

This ink jet printer competes head-to-head with thermal-dye photo printers. Unlike the Canon unit, the PictureMate lets you print from just about anything, including memory cards, USB keys, and PictBridge cameras. The built-in menus are helpful, but there's no color LCD to preview images; instead, you must print an index sheet, with 20 images per sheet (unless you are printing directly from a camera). Each print took about 2:15 minutes to print. Prints are a match for conventional film based photos, and they're water-proof and smear-proof. Even better, they cost only 29 cents each.

You could bring the printer along with you on the cruise and be competition for Shutters.

Have fun
Ken

Thanks Ken!!!

Mary-awesome pages. Love Bear's page. I see you use a corner rounder on your pics also. I love doing that instead of having my photos squared.

Okay, I'll see what I can do to get a page put on!

Linda - actually I didn't use anything on these pages but software. All of those pages are done entirely on the computer. :D

Linda & Karen - thanks for the feedback. Like I said I consider myself still very much a beginner at this.

Mary, I could take a picture of a box smooshed full of photos in their envelopes and then post a poll. Whose pictures are more nicely displayed...Karen's or Mary's?

I think your pages are just fabulous!! I'm thinking of sending the kids to public school and spending the time scrapbooking instead ;)

They do take some time, but it is worth it. Whenever I have a bad day I take out my scrapbooks and look them over.

I'd really like to find the time to do the rest of my life. All I really have scrapbooked is our cruises and 2 years of WDW vacations.

Mary, that scrapbook looks incredibly great! I am very impressed - it must have taken a lot of dedication and patience. What kind of software do you use? I am almost afraid to ask because I bet it would be the kind of thing I would start and 6 hours later I would realize 6 hours went by and al the things I should have been doing didn't get done...

boy, I need a vacation...

Thanks for sharing it!

Thought I'd pop in for a T.O.P.!!!!!

Mary - I agree - very nice scrapbooks.... we are like Karen - tons of pictures....in boxes, drawers, etc....

I find it a lot easier to do a theme for each page. The lab sounds like a great theme for her to use. Are you giving her a camera to take with her?

I always use a book with page protectors and I put each days navigator in there as well.

I've got 3 more pages that I'm going to have Mark scan when he gets a chance. These were done using embellishements and photos.

I'll let you guys know when these are up.

Will you bring scrapbooking stuff with you or do you collect all the things and then scrapbook at home?

Hi Virgil! :D

Our's don't even get printed. We use digital and they just stay on the computer.

Do you take underwater pics? We are bringing a few underwater disposable cameras for the kids. I have no idea how they will turn out!

The two I use most often are Microsoft Picture It! and American Greetings Scrapbooks and More.

I usually do the pages in batches when I have a slow weekend. That's why I haven't done our May 2004 Member Homecoming scrapbook - my weekends have been tied up with the newsletter and other things (like work).:D

It's hard for me to just do one page and let it go. I need to do 4 or 5 in a row.

I still haven't gotten to the library. did pick up a paper back at the Curves lending shelf. I read about 40 pages and it is SVU(oops) meets CSI. too gory for me. I do like Nevada Barr mysteries but she doesn't have any new ones out.

That is so fantastic, I really enjoyed it. Thank you very much for sharing with us. :Pinkbounc

Hi Virgil! :D
I bring a plastic box with me to collect all the Navigators and anything else that I think I want to use in the scrapbook. I save everything. Brochures from places we visit (like the butterfly museum in Key West), our KTTW cards, our dining tickets, everything.
