I think it would be great to meet up on sailaway day so that I'll know who you all are right from the start.

I'm quite happy to be listed in a DIS directory. A mini navigator listing any meets we get organised will really help as it is easy to forget things like that when you're on vacation.

Angela

I tried to get into chat - but kept on getting kicked out. It was acting really weird last night.....

I like the idea of the DIS roster. I don't mind having my room number posted as I think that anybody who wants to find me should be able to. I doubt that we have any stalkers.... well besides Stacey - and we all know about her already.......:p

Just to make sure - garRy - you have my shirt order?
Mary - we all want pins.

Looks like Jamaica is getting hammered by Ivan - but the course is a little bit further west than before - so the Keys may be spared.

Well - working 7-3 today....... Be back later!

Lynda, I think the only place they are going is out on the water, to scuba dive. The scuba dive sites are not really good for snorkeling, if that's what you have in mind.

Did I tell y'all about the outboard motor on my fishing scooter?:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Denise - I know that they do have a fishing excursion on CC. Other than that - I'm surethat you could set something up on your own....

Good Morning all,
Thanks Virgil. It's just an idea we have been kicking around. Please count us in on the directory if welcome and what's with the pins? I love the idea of a meets party, I am anxious to get to know you all. It's hot here today. Over 130 days without rain. You folks in the south can send it our way. cheers -D::MinnieMo

Hi Denise! We do have another Californian that has posted here, but not in a while. His ID is Kpros. Maybe he will stop in. Our Western states contingent is growing!

Yes, we want pins and shirts and everything. I need to get organized and get those in.

They sure dredged Port Canaveral fast! They were saying that it was costing the area $1 million a day in revenue when it wasn't accessible.

Angela, I know that we dock at Key West, St. Martin, and St. Thomas. I don't know about Antigua, it is a new port. I don't think this information is usually provided. People don't like to tender, so the cruise lines usually don't advertise that they're going to do it.

Time for our Floridians to check in. Anyone leaving this time? I feel for you guys.

We docked at Antigua on our P&O cruise last year. It was a big dock area with 4 ships on the day we were there.
We tendered into St Lucia.
I don't mind the actual tender bit it is just a pain having to get a boarding time and then wait. Still it isn't that bad.

I would like some pins too. I finally got round to asking Gary for a t-shirt so I am beginning to get organised.

Angela

Good Morning!

Antigua has a dock...it can hold several ships, and they have another dock area that they can use if the first one is full. They dock in Heritage Quay. (pronounced key of course!)

Another note on that.....Lynda, you'll like this....I have a book by Frommer's that says that St Lucia has a new pier that can hold several ships. Only the smaller ships have to tender. The pier is at Pointe Seraphine. The only thing that I'm thinking Jo might have been talking about are the water taxi's that take passengers from one side of the port to the other.

Mary....I'm pretty sure I gave you my button request. GaRry has my shirt request. The "Anything You Care to Drink (BYOB & munchies) Party" will be on the verandah of room 8602. We all just need to try to figure out a day/night & time.
A directory sounds great to me....no secrets here.

Pay no attention to Virgil......I'm not a stalker.......well...depends....:smooth:

Off to have a fun day of laundry!

TTYL,
Stacey

 Okay...I'm totally confused.

Angela was in St Lucia last year and they tendered.
Jo's e-mail sounded like we'll be tendered.
Frommer's says they have a pier.
Is a pier different than an actual dock?

I'm going to e-mail Jo and ask her.

I thought it was going to be all day and all night - all of the time.... :earseek:

Maybe that's why some don't want to give out their room numbers.....::yes::

See what I get for being a big mouth?????

You probably have the Walt, and just don't want to tell us!

I think there is a dock in St Lucia but our ship didn't get a place because it was full so we had to tender in. We went into the dock at Antigua but there were several ships out to sea who were tendering people in. I assume that it is just luck if you get a place in the dock.

Happy Saturday all!!! Ran into work for a sec and thought I'd check the boards. Gosh, took me 15 minutes just to catch up.

I told the DH last night that we all did the double digit dance the other day, of course, he had no clue, when I told him that we had hit 99 days, he said "oh, is that for the Christmas Cruise or for the Panama Canal cruise?" Me being the smart a.... that I am, said "well how many days are in a month?" he said 30 and then he starting counting........Nov, Dec, Jan.......I said hon.....this is Sept. not Nov!!!!!!

Men-----well don't get me on that subject!!

Hey the navigator sounds great. I need to get Mary and GaRry my pin and tshirt orders.

Okay, things to do, busy day!!!!

RED ALERT, RED ALERT!!!!

I had to book some reservations on Delta today and thought I would look at my December itinerary and about fell on the floor when I saw it had changed and Delta has not contacted me!!!!

Anyway, since I have 12 tickets (2 bought, 10 on ff awards) I started looking for the others and couldn't find them.

Got on the phone to Delta and with their restructuring they have been redoing flights. I was kinda upset they hadn't contacted me via email or phone, but come to find out they made the changes on Wed. Sept. 8 and the gal said "they are in the process of calling everyone, but since you don't fly until Dec. you probably are way down on the list".

To make a long story short, our flights got changed, but the TA finally found everyone, and we are all on the same flight!!! The only real bad thing is the hours I spent 232 days ago to get everyone to sit together got kicked out since the planes and schedules have changed. Luckily, I was able to rework everyone, get us all connected and got new seats for us. However, if I had waited to Delta to call me we probably would have been scattered throughout.

SO, IF YOU ARE BOOKED ON DELTA, YOU MAY WANT TO POP IN AND LOOK AT YOUR RESERVATION!!! PROBABLY THE SAME GOES FOR SONG TOO!!

Okay, I am more relaxed now, and am checking out and headed to run more errands!!!!

Linda - I feel your pain. The same thing happened to me on American last May. We had 4 seats together and they switched us (without telling us) and had us sitting in 4 separate seats. I personally would have been ok with it (but would rather sit with Mark), but his parents had a cow as I knew they would. After being in tears with someone who said they could do nothing I wrote to their customer service department who got us all back together. We go through all the efforts of booking early and then these things happen. Not the end of the world, but still very frustrating.

Glad to hear you got yours ironed out.

:cake: Happy Birthday Jessica!

Since I think afff hasn't told her about the cruise yet maybe he can print these out and give them to her after the cruise :D

Hi Diana,
Can you or anyone else fill me (the newby) in about what info is needed for shirts or pins and about the directory,or is it for seasoned cruisers? You guys all sound like you know each other already.

Denise,

Some of us have only met each other once or twice at WDW - Where we all were going to be there - and got together for lunch or dinner. We cruised on a 3 day with OhioMinnie and her family and became friends. A couple of us (Paul and me) met the Las Vegas queen (Stacey) in Vegas , but for the most part - I've never met most of the people I chat with on a daily basis - it's just that we've been chatting on here for a year......

Mary (WDWLVR) is doing the pins and
garRy (Cruisingoose) is doing the shirts. There's a lot of information about these on the newsletters. PM me if you need anything......

Denise - I said in a post the other day to drop me an e-mail and I'll be happy to give you the password to the newsletter which has all in the info the shirts, pins, and everything else. All the meets have been covered in the newsletter as well and there is a photo gallery too.

Just drop me a pm with the names of all those sailing with you, birthdays, anniversary date, cabin number and whether you are early or late seating.

To get to the main page of our cruise website click here

As Virgil said some of us have met and some haven't. I've been Kabuli1 and her family as well as GaRry, Vicki and their daughter. I haven't had the chance to meet anyone else face to face but by talking just about every day, doing Friday night chats and the newsletters I know I'm going to be sailing with a great group of friends.
