I will be looking for the not so strenuous excursions too. I'd like to see the islands, see some fish, but not into hurting myself to do it, thanks. I'm known as "wussy Mama" around here.
I too will be doing "wussy" excursions!

Garry, so Gregg is taking up diving? He needs another sport? Or perhaps you meant driving?

Oh no! There she goes again! And I thought DW just corrected ME!

See what happens when you get to "know" someone!!:wave2:

Well I just finished up the design of our door sign for the cruise.

Here it is:

Needless to say it looks less fuzzy in real life. :D

Ok .........seeing as though we are talking about Antigua and excursions, I'm having difficulty in deciding on the "stingray and dolphin" excursion on this island.

Has anyone done it before?

Just wondering if the kids would enjoy it, and is it worth the money?

Thanks for any comments.

Hi everyone!

Well I have spent the weekend recovering from my stone blasting on Friday. It seems to have gone well. It is a lot better than trying to pass a whole stone, thats for sure.

Leilani-Does your new suite have the pull-out in the living area? I thought only the 4 mid cabin suites had that configuration.
We are supposed to be on a waitlist for one of those, but I doubt we'll end up getting it.

We are also looking at doing one of the Dolphin excursions, but can't decide whether to do it at St Marteen or Antigua. Anyone have experience with it at St Marteen? We will make a decision soon I think.

Mary- Great sign! I may attempt to make something.

I did buy some of those 3m stick on the wall hook things at Home Depot today. I just need to get these kids in school so I can get organized and do more preparations for this trip! One more week!

Supposed to go to the beach tomorrow in MD, if the weather holds out.
Have a good one!

We did the 'swim with stingrays' in Grand Cayman - it is an awesome experience but actually quite scarey (remember I am a wuss!). My youngest DS went in the water with them for a short time but wasn't very comfortable and my eldest DS wouldn't get in the water at all. I would have been OK but for the fact they tell you whatever you do don't stand on one so keep your feet flat on the floor but the sea waves knock you off your feet and then you are looking for somewhere to put your feet down and there are all these stingrays everywhere under your feet. My Dh thought it was great. I was glad I did it but I wouldn't do it again. The dolphin bit I've not done though and would love to do that.

Weird, my page ended right after Tina's post with no reply button. Seeing if this will fix it.

Good Sunday Evenning Everyone!!

We're still trying to figure out excursions also. Trying to pin DH down so I can talk to him, but that's been difficult. As usual, I will probably just decide and he will go along with the flow. It would be nice to have some imput though. I think he would like to play golf at one port so I will probably let him do that.

Mary - great door sign. I guess I need to get started on mine but I am not very creative so I will have to see what I can come up with.

Tina - glad to hear you are feeling better and everything went well. No, the Cat 3 we got has the murphy bed in the bedroom, which is not my first choice, but at least it is better than the girls sharing a fold out couch. They did that when we cruised in March 2003 and it worked out okay, but they are bigger now and it would have been hard for 10 days. We are still on the waitlist for one of the bigger Cat 3s or a Cat 1 or 2. We will see what happens as the final payment due date gets closer.

Hope Stacey is having a great time in Vegas.

Mom starts chemo on Tuesday so I am sure it will be a stressful week around here even though I am not with her. Keeping our fingers crossed that it works.

Everyone have a great evening.

For those going to MVMCP on the 17th - I read on the theme parks board that you can make PS reservations at LTT(Liberty Tree Tavern) now instead of waiting until 90 days. Most of the people on the thread have stated that you can get into the park with a party ticket at 4pm even though the party does not start until 7pm. I went ahead and made a PS time for LTT at 4:30pm on the 17th and then when PS times open for Crystal Palace, Cinderella's Royal Table, & Tony's (at 90 days) I might change, but at least I have a reservation.

This is the link to the thread in case anyone is interested in reading it:

Tina - good to hear your feeling better. Way better than passing a whole stone!

Angela - sorry to hear you didn't enjoy swimming with the stingrays - it was the highlight of our trip!

LeiLani - a few tips that might help your mom. 1) can you find a relaxation tape she can listen to? A dear friend of mine who is a priest but me under hypnosis during my treatments and did it via a tape. It was really a relaxation technique. I really think it helped. 2) On my last couple of chemo treatments I couldn't keep food down at all. What got me through was italian ice - cherry to be exact. It was bland and cooling which felt good and just sweet enough to make me smile a little. I hope either of these tips can help your mom get through this!

LeiLani - as far as LTT - that is our favorite place before MVMCP. It is served family style and the food is great. The character interaction is wonderful as well. I highly recommend it for anyone going to MVMCP.

Thanks Mary - I will pass that information to my Mom. They are supposed to give her something for nausea so we will see what happens.

With all the times we have been to WDW, we have never eaten at LTT. I think we might stick with it this time for a change and to see what it is like. Everyone raves about it, so we will give it a chance.

LeiLani

LeiLani - Hope all goes well with your mom. Some of the new meds for nausea are great but she needs to take them as directed and not wait until the nausea hits. (they just don't work the same)
We had lunch at LTT for the first time earlier this month and really enjoyed it. A co-worker had recommended it so I thought we would try. The food was very good, nothing fancy but very good (DH & I had pot roast.)

Mary - Great Sign WOW you all are impressive in your Arts & Crafts as well as computer ability. I hope I can so something that the kids will let me bring on board. If it is to bad they may hide it as I am packing.

Diana - I vote beach chair potato or possibly "mall rats" (if they have malls) I agree nothing strenguous or to far underwater. Simple and relaxing for me!!

Hope everyone had a great weekend - Have a wonderful week!!

Vicki

We have reservations at LTT at 5pm on the 17th. I've had my reservations since May. They let me make the reservations when I ordered the MVMCP tickets.

We've eaten there before and loved it!

Paul

When we did the MVMCP we were able to make a reservation when we ordered the tickets also but we did it as a pkg. I thought that was why we were able to make them earlier than 90 days.

Paul if you are doing the MVMCP that must mean you aren't going to be at the Radisson on the 17th.

Vicki

No Raddison this year Vicki. :(

I was really looking forward to getting up and watching the magic return to port with gaRry. Oh well maybe next time.

Happy Monday morning everyone. Kids started school today. I think they'll be fine. DH is a little nervous. DS is entering middle school, and I think it's harder on Dad than Casey!

DS had a friend over on Friday, and they didn't sleep at all, so it was kind of a wasted weekend. We spent all Saturday afternoon cleaning up from the disaster. It gave me an excuse to get rid of all DS's toys that he's outgrown. Kind of sad, both my kids are past the toy phase now. I sorted out all their clothes and set things up so that the school-worthy clothes are all together. It saves major battles where DS comes down in the Cub Scout camp shirt from 5 years ago, and a worn out pair of shorts and says "I'm ready to go!"

3 weeks til Hershey! Eek, guess I'd better get my ressie in now! I looked a few weeks back, and our PC was acting up, so I didn't book. We still plan on the Country Inn and Suites in East Harrisburg.

Mary, a dinner/chocolate world meet on Friday evening sounds like a great idea. There's a Pizza Hut very close to the park. How's that sound to folks? And about 20 minutes from the park, I know of a buffet/steakhouse type thing (like Ponderosa, but it's a local place). Either of those places would have enough room that we could chat for a while and not feel like we're taking valuable seats. Charlotte, do you have any suggestions? I know you've been there lots more than us. Also, does anyone want me to pick up park tickets? Our price is $30 with no tax. I'm pretty sure gate price is more like $43 and has tax on it.

We're not chiming in on the excursion discusson because I don't think we're doing many excursions. A friend strongly suggested visiting the Truman White House in Key West, and since it's pretty cheap, one of us may take the in-laws there. We'll do the trolley or the train to see the area. St. Thomas will be Coral World for all of us, and maybe some will do the tram (DFIL is afraid of heights, so I know he won't go). I just don't see us doing much in the other places. Antigua is going to be too adventurous for the in-laws. St. Lucia we'll probably just poke around the historical areas. And we're not beach or shopping type people, so I think we might stay on board in St. Martin.

Good to hear from some of the lurkers. Yes, it really is getting close. With all the clothes sorting I did this weekend, I'm starting to think about packing. I'll probably put some things together starting in October (about the time that nippy weather shows up out here), and my goal is to be completely packed by Thanksgiving!

Have a great day everyone! Lisa

:flower1: Good Morning Cruisers! :flower1:

Happy Monday everyone - back to work for me!

Well the Olympics are over and the closing ceremonies were fun. I really prefer the opening ones because of all the pageantry, but I also love to watch the athletes really unwind and enjoy themselves.

LeiLani - I know they drugs they are using today are much better than what I had. Was told that by the oncologist when he was treating my mom. Also everyone reacts differently so hopefully she won't have any problems. I'm keeping her in my throughts and prayers.

Well off to read the boards and then off to work!

I can't wait for Stacey and Gail to get back from their trips. Miss them both!
