We are trying to decide whether to send out our "annual stupid card letter" before we leave or wait until we get back and send a New Years card this year saying "WE HAD A GREAT TIME". We are spending a week at WDW, so will leave here on the 11th.

I watched the last half of the DCL special, alone. We've seen it so many times, no one was interested but me. Even the DD kept on with her math homework, and you know it doesn't take much to distract her from that!

Stacey, I'm sure a couple of things have changed in the last year! Come to think of it, our letter wouldn't be much different from last year. Went to WDW, going on a Christmas cruise...

We do have to do a letter this year for sure. DH found out that he has a sister that was given up for adoption in 1949. Thru the wonders of the internet we located her this year! That and our Christmas Cruise are news!

I figured I would start my letter (which I've done for about 4 years now...I SWORE I would never send them..).....by saying that it has never seemed like Christmas since I moved to Arizona, so this year we are going on a Disney cruise to the Caribbean to try to get back some of that old Christmas cheer!

Stacey, Had a great dinner - thanks! We ate at Great Eastern...in Chinatown..... I'm stuffed.... They did have a funny typo on the menu... one of the entrees read: Cat Fish and Pork....(we skipped it)

Good morning. We had another great weekend at WDW. Someday we will have to stay home so we can finish DS's room which was started during the hurricanes.

Sharon and Lisa had a pre-cruise meeting with OhioMinnie and family. Matt and I were at the Wide World of Sports for his tournament so only were are the pre-cruise meet for a short time. The kids got along well which is always good. I'm sure Sharon will post more details.

Sunday was spent at Wine & Food. Second weekend in a row and I hope we can make it three in a row. This time we eat our way counter-clock wise. Last weekend with Eddy's was clockwise. Diana, your right, that Coca Polada wine was good, different. Tasted like a pina colda.

Kevin, I thought of you in Italy. The Banfi Rosa Regale with the chocolate cake was excellant. In fact, it was so good I bought a bottle and am thinking the cruise will be a good place to open it. Will you help me? That might be the drink for desert buffet. What do you think?

Diana, I am not sure if we will make it to MGM before the cruise but if we do I'll look for the stocking. Please let me know what store it was in so I can do a quick run and grab. I might be going over for the Disney Golf Classic on Friday.

I have to agree with the comments about how great this board has been. Meeting OhioMinnie and family was just another reminder of how much fun we will have going with friends (and how important the buttons will be with our screen names)

The real issue is what do we do when we get home. Who are we going to have to chat with about Disney/Cruises/Pre-meetings?

Here's what we did... since it was DW's birthday we stopped by Target and picked up a couple of nice new strands of Christmas lights for the veranda. We wrapped them up as an extra birthday present with a copy of WDWLVR and MarkRG's cruise map and itinerary (thanks Mary and Mark) taped on the outside of one box. We also knew the Travel Channel was showing the cruise special at 7pm so we timed the opening of DW's gifts for just before the start of the show. We saved the lights to be opened last and asked DD6 and DS10 to help mom open her last present! You can imagine their excitment because they knew every gift we had wrapped for mom except this one. Well, when they say the contents were Christmas lights there were puzzled. Why did we get mom Christmas lights for her BD they asked??? We had them turn the box over and taped to the back was the 10 day cruise map page from Mary and Mark's site with a note saying "Happy Birthday, Everyone! And Merry Christmas too!". At the bottom of the picture we put a caption saying "We are going on the Disney Christmas Cruise". Well, they were stunned!!! We then turned on the TV and watched the Disney Cruise special and talked about some of the details during the commericals. Wow, what an evening of excitment! It was sooo great to have them share in our excitment and now it seems sooo real. Only about 60 days to go before we all set sail!!!!
Just had to share this for those of you who love surprises!

What a great way to surprise them! Can't take all the credit on the map page. tksbaskets made it and we are hosting it. The important thing is that we were able to play a part in your surprise and I think that's great! Love that you timed it to the show on DCL.

Sorry Dee - we've never taped it. We've had the travel channel for so long that I get used to seeing things multiple times so we don't tape them.

As for Christmas lights - we bought two small strands of battery operated ones for our verandah. They are mini-mini-lights but I think they will look cute out there.

Good Morning Cruisers!

Happy Monday Everyone!

Well I manged to get a few things done yesterday. Work, laundry, and even had some time to myself.

We do a Christmas letter every year. Call me paranoid but I don't think we are going to mention the cruise in it. Not sure I want something with out address getting in the wrong hands advertising that we won't be home for 10 days. I guess my biggest concern is that we have a lot of older distant relatives and friends of my mom on our list and every year it seems we get one back as not deliverable (they moved) or that the person in question died. So I think we'll just leave it out and put it on next years letter.

As for decorating we'll do our normal lights in the bushes outside the house and we also have a large wreath and two light up candy canes we put out. Inside we'll do a lot less and just put up the small tree. We actually have two trees. The large one where we put up colored lights and our wide variety of ornaments. The small one I call mom's tree. We bought it after her death when I inherited all her Waterford ornaments that I had given her every year. It has those ornaments, some Beleek ornaments, small white frosted lights, and plaid bows. It's topped by a cute little baby angel. Some years we put both up but this year we'll just go with the small tree.

Well that's all for now. Got to go read the boards and then off to work.

We had a really great time at the Wine and Food Festival! Isn't that Flourless Hazelnut Chocolate Cake with the Banfi to die for!! . I had more than my fair share of those, I'll tell you!
We didn't want to carry the bottle home, but I thought we could fine some locally, since it is distributed from New York it should be able to be found. I'll let you know if I meet with success. Great idea though!! Nice combination with the chocolate.

Chocolate Buffet ........watch out!!
