Great idea though!! Nice combination with the chocolate.

Chocolate Buffet ........watch out!!:bounce:

The more I think about it....there could be another DIS event here. Champaign with the Chocolate Buffet.

I can't think of a better place and reason to have another get together.

If some of us brought champaign to the chocolate buffet......

ooouu! Now I HAVE to find some to bring.....

Who's up for that?

BTW Jim, what did you pay for the bottle?

For the uninitiated: A Review:
"This sweet sparkling wine with its low alcohol (7 percent) is a gem with stunning flavors. Made from the Brachetto grape, the wine has a beautiful light ruby color with incredible aromas of rose petal, red raspberry, cranberry and strawberry. The delicious sweet red raspberry flavor is balanced with a tangy finish. Do not miss this wine. Serve chilled with summer pasta salads or after a meal with a dark chocolate dessert.” Highly Recommended – Outstanding - Rated 90-94

Hello! I'm a little late today to say Good Morning....got up and started on my little projects. Figured I'd have all day to get things done, when DH reminded me that it's payday...darn it....so I guess I have to at least go in to the office to do payroll.

I was looking at my battery operated Christmas lights (moving things...thanks, Afff!) and it says on there not to have them in a damp place. I guess I won't be putting mine on the verandah!

Sounds like the latest DIS meet was a lot of fun!! Pictures, we want pictures!!!

All_Ears.....there's a company that will shop Disneyland for you...not overpriced...they have pins that I order for my son all the time... www.mouseshoppe.com give them a look.

Back to my crafts, then in to the office!

Stacey

Sorry, Therese....I steered you wrong. I just looked at Mouseshoppe, and they are sold out of the Stitch Halloween pin right now. But they may get more in....check with them often.

The real issue is what do we do when we get home. Who are we going to have to chat with about Disney/Cruises/Pre-meetings?

There's a thread on the Community Board titled something like "Oct. 19 Cruisers, Again and Again". It's the Oct. 2003 cruise, a lot of them have kept in touch. It would be fun to try and keep that going.

Of course, we could all plan another cruise!

Kevin is committing to carrying more and more stuff on this cruise. Hope he doesn't hurt his back again this time.

Jim, I was hoping you'd bring a bottle of that Florida Orange Groves Coco Polada for the wine party. I looked on the internet and couldn't figure out a way to order any.

I'll PM you about the stocking, thanks!

Yeah, me too! I called the ABC Liquors in Port Canaveral and they carry the Banfi. Just have to pick some up on our way. Cool, huh?

If anyone is going to be at WDW Nov. 5-7, there is a Passholder preview of the new Stitch attraction. In conjunction, there's a LE 5000 Stitch bobblehead pin being released. That would be a fun one to get!

Hi all. I'm still here. Been lurking again. Did you miss me? Probably not. Been pretty busy here. We went to visit Mickey on October 7 to the 10th. We did the food & wine festival for the first time. All I can say is yum! Did someone mention a cook book for the f&w festival? I wish I'd known that while I was there. I LOVE cookbooks. I missed out on the pin too :( . Oh well. There's always ebay. I can't believe we only have 2 months left!! Boy, time flys  .

Okay, so it's now Monday afternoon and I've been in budget meetings all day long (and I get to do that tomorrow morning also). So I get back in my office and my brother has emailed me the following about

THE PERFECT RETIREMENT HOME

So, it just made my day. I am making my reservations as soon as they release the dates for my retirement! Enjoy..............

AN ALTERNATIVE RETIREMENT HOME

There will be no nursing home in my future.........

When I get old and feeble, I am going to get on a Disney Cruise Ship. The average cost for a nursing home is $200 per day. I have checked on reservations at Disney. I can get a long term discount and senior discount price of $135 per day. That leaves $65 a day for:

1. Gratuities which will only be $10 per day.

2. I will have as many as 10 meals a day if I can waddle to the
restaurant, or I can have room service (which means I can have breakfast in bed every day of the week).

3. Disney has swimming pools, hot tubs, a spa, a workout room, washers and dryers, and shows every night.

4. They have free toothpaste and razors, and free soap and shampoo.

5. They will even treat you like a customer, not a patient. An extra
$5 worth of tips will have the entire staff scrambling to help you.

6. I will get to meet new people every 7 or 14 days.

7. T.V. broken? Light bulb need changing? Need to have the mattress replaced? No Problem! They will fix everything and apologize for your inconvenience.

8. Clean sheets and towels every day, and you don't even have to ask for them.

9. If you fall in the nursing home and break a hip you are on Medicare. If you fall and break a hip on the Disney ship they will upgrade you to a suite for the rest of your life.

Now hold on for the best! Do you want to see the Panama
Canal, the Carribean, or Mexico? Disney will have a ship ready to go. So don't look for me in a nursing home, just save me a lounger on deck 6.

P.S. And don't forget, when you die, they just dump you over the side at no charge

Now, I just need to catch up on reading all the posts from the weekend!

Linda

I have some travel humor for you since we're getting close to cruise time. Dedicated to Cash.

Ready?

Here it is:

A REMINDER OF WHY WE SHOULD NEVER ASSUME ANYTHING PERHAPS.

A man was flying from Seattle to San Francisco. Unexpectedly, the
plane stopped in Sacramento along the way. The flight attendant explained that there would be a delay, and if the passengers wanted to get off the aircraft, the plane would re-board in 50 minutes. Everybody got off the plane except one gentleman who was blind. The man had noticed him as he walked by and could tell the gentleman was blind because his seeing eye dog lay quietly underneath the seats in front of him throughout the
entire flight. He could also tell he had flown this very flight before
because the pilot approached him, and calling him by name and said, "Keith, we're in Sacramento for almost an hour Would you like to get off and stretch your legs?"

The blind man replied, "No thanks, but my dog would like to stretch his legs."

Picture this: All the people in the gate area came to a complete
standstill when they looked up and saw the pilot walk off the plane with a Seeing Eye dog! The pilot was even wearing sunglasses. People scattered. They not only tried to change planes, but they were trying to change airlines!

True story... Have a great day and remember... things aren't always as they appear.

Please kieep the Pin infomationa coming! Thank you everyone!!!

Therese-I am going to Atlanta on business, but making a side trip to WDW before Atlanta. I am arriving on Tue. the 26th and I am going to attempt to make it that night to the event. In fact, I need to go on the Dis website and see about preordering a ticket. I'd be more than happy to pick up what you want, just give me the details!

Also, I am heading back to Orlando on business and going in early for that trip too! I arrive Sun. Nov. 7 and can do the parks the evening of the 7th and all day on the 8th. I think someone said there was a bobblehead pin available. Let me know. If they still have them, I'll be glad to pick up.

Okay, now that I read all the pages to catch up, I need to get to work.

TWO MONTHS 'TIL SAILAWAY!

Wow! Can I officially panic yet? Haven't started packing, haven't lost weight, can't start the Christmas cards 'til we get the boys' picture taken.........auuughh!! But, I do have my Christmas shopping done......so that counts for something, right? ::yes::

Dee - The Disney Cruise Line show reairs this week on The Travel Channel -- Thursday, 10/21 @ 7 p.m. EST and Friday, 10/22 @ 2:00 a.m. EST. We missed it last night, too......but have seen it before. It does put you in the mood to cruise!

Lisa - It was a weird storm. Hadn't seen hail in quite a long time. Youngest DS is feeling better today, thankfully.

Linda - I'm with you on the Disney retirement home. Save an extra deck chair for me!

Hope everyone has a good Monday!

Oh, and just before I forget----loved all the posts.

Our family was suppose to be dieting all year since I told them last Christmas we were all going on the cruise together. Haven't seen the step-kids for a couple of months, and my DH hasn't made progress either, but I have been extremely good all year and have lost 53 pounds. Although, with fall hitting, my body has been dying to get its winter coat back on and I have been struggling not to eat the whole kitchen! But, I have been maintaining.

Mary-I will check with the kids about being on the tag-you're it list. We are going to southern Utah this coming weekend I think and will ask them. Do you think you could put off the December newsletter until like the 10th or something and then we could just print out all our stuff and bring the newsletter with us? That way I could just pack it with all my important documents.

Okay-I paid off the cruise on Friday. Now talk about a pocketbook hit----$13K for the staterooms for the kids and grandkids. No Christmas presents for them for the next 10 years!!

Oh-and while I am babbling along---------I thought we talked a long time ago about Christmas Carol singing. I was thinking I would be more than happy to make and copy books for all of us to sing around the piano (who was our piano player) one night. Anyone interested? Let me know what your favorite songs are and I will see if I can locate and copy them for all of us. I will kinda need a count so I can bring enough for everyone participating.

Now, I really am going back to work!

Linda

:teeth: ::yes:: Jenny...thank you SO much for the warning about swallowing first!! That was hysterical!

I got on here to vent...but maybe now that I had a good laugh, I won't....
Everyone thank Jenny for making Stacey laugh, so you wouldn't have to listen to her whine!!!

Thanks, GlenelgMom, but the trouble is we don't have cable -- we never watch enough TV to justify the expense. Though every once in a while, with shows like that, I get REALLY tempted!

Sue, I hope you find me a copy? Or anyone else? As I said, I'll pay for the tape + S&H...

I LOVED the seeing-eye dog story! Too FUNNY!

These posts today really help me get through the Monday blahs!
