Therese,

I put in a request for a cat 3 - 1 week before the cruise went on sale - middle June, 2003

I know I am pretty high on the list if any of the cat 3 people cancel

The rooms should open up or not, this week since payments are due

Would love the extra room of the cat 3

Gail - I will call ya

Virg,

Happy Sunday all!

It's been chilly and windy here today. Had a weird storm yesterday afternoon - the kind where part of the sky was bright and sunny, the other half pouring rain. Then we got hail for about 5 minutes.......about the size of peas. It switched back to rain, then the sun came out again and we saw two full rainbows!

Funny, we didn't get it down here, but I'm glad you're okay!

Made it through part of youngest DS's tee ball game today before he got sick. A stomach flu has been going around out here lately.

Yep, that's the one my DD had last week. At least it was quick for us, and no one else got it !!!

More computer problems yesterday. :headache: May have to bite the bullet and switch providers. This is getting old. :badpc:

Mine's better now, but still occasionally glitches. In chat I was talking about how when we move, I'll finally be able to get some sort of high speed!!

Just caught up on reading the posts and I'm sorry I didn't realize there were so many interested in Christmas trees, because I spoke to Shirley @ The Perfect Gift yesterday morning. She is able to get a limited number of the decorated, pre-lit artificial Teleflora tabletop trees. This year's is with Spode (the china folks). It's quite beautiful.........here's a link if you want to see what it looks like:
http://www.myteleflora.com/Products/XM04_SpodeXmasTree.asp

My DS's scout troop is selling something very similar that can be delivered to anywhere in the US. Too bad we wouldn't be able to take them aboard them ship though!

Okay, I sure hope this worked since I've never tried commenting with in the quote before! Just had SOOOO many things to say to Charlotte!

Good morning everyone. DH forgot to set the alarm last night, so I was late getting in today. Good thing we're early risers naturally!

It's started getting chilly here. It was 39 this morning when I woke up! But our leaves haven't really started changing. That's usually anytime now. Yesterday was beautiful (sunny, mid 60s). DD and I walked around selling Girl Scout calendars. At least I got some exercise in!

Remember the discussion about DH needing some more shorts? Well yeterday evening while the kids and I were at church he found a big stack of them stuck in the corner. I think he put them there during one of his "fat" periods! So he's okay that way. Now I just need to find him a few shirts, and that's much easier!

GaRry, when are you finalizing the shirt order? I had asked for a set for my in-laws. I won't need them anymore, so if you haven't ordered yet, just cancel one adult small and one adult medium. Thanks!

Off to catch up on the rest of the boards. Have a great day everyone! Lisa

Happy Monday Everyone!

We had a very busy weekend with volleyball on Sat and soccer on Sunday. Today I have to clean the house and get the laundry done.

3 more days till WDW !!
Scuba family- if you are heading there again next weekend let me know. I will be there Thurs - Sun.

Diana- I would be happy to pick up the stocking for you at MGM, just let me know.

We would also love a tree from Shirley. Guess I will give her a call today.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning everyone!

Just a note on the category 3 suites. I am also on a waitlist and I call often checking. The last time that I called (last week), the woman that I talked to was very helpful. She checked to see if there were any category 3 rooms that were not paid for yet, and she said that they were all paid in full. There were a few category 4 and some others that were not paid yet. She said that unless someone has to cancel at the last minute, the chances are slim that a category 3 would open up. I'm sorry if i ruined anyones day.

:chat: Okay, I spoke to Shirley @ The Perfect Gift this morning. 800-950-4559

She is able to get a limited number of the decorated, pre-lit artificial Teleflora tabletop trees. She is able to get only 9 at a time from Teleflola. So once she has the 9 orders in to them she will be able to order 9 more.

This year's is with Spode (the china folks). It's quite beautiful.........here's a link if you want to see what it looks like:

http://www.myteleflora.com/Products...odeXmasTree.asp

I spoke with her regarding a Group discount and she said that her cost on these are $42. - she retails them for $60 - not much room for her to give us a discount.

She said that they arrive to her boxed and ready to go - but instead of just forwarding them on to the ship - she opens the boxes to make sure that the tree is in good order, she checks the ornaments and replaces any broken ones and pulls down all the branches, for the Dis Cruisers she will also add 'greens' so we can have the 'tree' aroma and then she wraps the trees and will include the box just in case anyone wants to bring the tree home.

The tree is 2 ft tall and the lights need to be pluged in.

She is so sweet on the phone - she also said that there is a firm delivery charge that is set by Disney and she has no control over that.

so the bottom line is this $72.50 includes delivery for a Christmas tree for your stateroom.

Shirley has asked that no one order these until Dec 1st as she doesn't want your credit card information hanging around her store for 2 months.

I have also asked her about Real trees, she said she doesn't have any of this information until the beginning of December as the trees are not available until the end of November.

I am going to order one of these, because if you shop around and pick up a table top tree, then the decorations and lights, lug it with you while traveling - then set it up etc, etc, etc......... I would rather have it delivered and there in my room to enjoy!!!

Hope this works for others and I've included enough info if not email me

have a Happy Monday!

:jumping1:

Good Monday Morning Everyone!!

Therese - I just talked to Shirley also, and we are going to order one of these trees too. I am going to call her back the beginning of Dec to order the tree and to order baskets for the girls.

Diana - thanks, she just wanted something catchy and cute. Now maybe she will post some.

Off to read the boards and then go workout.

Everyone have a great day!

Today was DW's birthday. Some of you may have seen my post a few weeks ago when I was looking for ideas on how to surprise our kids, DS10 and DD6, revealing that we were going on the cruise. Well, we did it today!

Here's what we did... since it was DW's birthday we stopped by Target and picked up a couple of nice new strands of Christmas lights for the veranda. We wrapped them up as an extra birthday present with a copy of WDWLVR and MarkRG's cruise map and itinerary (thanks Mary and Mark) taped on the outside of one box. We also knew the Travel Channel was showing the cruise special at 7pm so we timed the opening of DW's gifts for just before the start of the show. We saved the lights to be opened last and asked DD6 and DS10 to help mom open her last present! You can imagine their excitment because they knew every gift we had wrapped for mom except this one. Well, when they say the contents were Christmas lights there were puzzled. Why did we get mom Christmas lights for her BD they asked??? We had them turn the box over and taped to the back was the 10 day cruise map page from Mary and Mark's site with a note saying "Happy Birthday, Everyone! And Merry Christmas too!". At the bottom of the picture we put a caption saying "We are going on the Disney Christmas Cruise". Well, they were stunned!!! We then turned on the TV and watched the Disney Cruise special and talked about some of the details during the commericals. Wow, what an evening of excitment! It was sooo great to have them share in our excitment and now it seems sooo real. Only about 60 days to go before we all set sail!!!!
Just had to share this for those of you who love surprises!

Goofydadeo.......your "surprise" story brought a tear to my eye.

We like surprises too.....we are surprising our kids the day of the cruise.
I hope nothing lets the cat out of the bag.

I have a crazy question.

Is anyone going to MNSSHP on 10/31?

My son is a Huge Stitch pin collecter and I would love to surprize him with the Halloween pin as a stocking stuffer.

The pin retails for $10.50 I would be willing to pay $20 for the pin, for it to be shipped to me.

LMK if there you can help me out!

Thank you again, this Board is Wonderful!!!!

Goofydadeo,

What a Great Story!!

Now I am sure everyday they will be asking - "how many more days till we leave"?

The Christmas lights for the vernadah? Where do you plug them in? It's a great Idea!

I read somewhere about the things to pack was an extension cord.

Gus

We're waiting too --- for a Cat 6. We didn't decide we wanted to upgrade until it was too late. I'm good with our Cat 10 --- we loved our room last time but the extra space would be nice. I guess if it's meant to be one will come up, if not I'm just thrilled to be going --- I can't believe how lucky we are!!!

Dreary here today --- makes thoughts of sunny islands that much better!!!

Have a great day!!!

Good morning gang!
Does anyone have the phone number for Shirley's Perfect gift? We booked most of our excursions but we were unable to get the Rhino Riders on St. Martin. I'm going to try and book it on our own today.

Teresa

Therese: Thanks for all the info on the trees. I'll probably order one. It would be nice to walk into the room and have it sitting there.

Teresa: I hope you get the rhino riders. Let me know if you do. Shirley's # 800-950-4559

Judy

Patty, just wanted to be sure you knew that there is no difference in room size between a cat 10 and a cat 6. The only difference is deck location and verandah.

We got a free upgrade to a cat 5 on our 2nd trip, and honestly for room size/use, I liked the cat 10 better. The window and verandah rooms are arranged with the couch area by the window/verandah, so that means you walk in where the bed is. And you have to walk around that bed all the time which I found to be a pain. Our cat 5 room also had a smaller steamer trunk, which was okay for a 4 day cruise, but on this 10 day cruise, I'm going to need all the storage space I can get!

Of course, if DCL in their infinite wisdom decides to give me a free upgrade, I wouldn't tell no!

On Saturday "OhioMinnie's" family and my ("Scuba") family were able to get together at the Magic Kingdom. The main purpose of the visit was for Lisa and KT to meet each other. They had a lot of fun together along with KT's brother Nick. They seemed to have the same taste in rides which was great. They went on Splash Mountain, Thunder Mountain Railroad, Space Mountain, Pirates of the Carribean, Tiki Birds and over to Tom Sawyer Island.
The trip over to Tom Sawyer's Island was Nick's pick and it was a good place for each fo kids to burn off a lot of extra energy. Lisa loved playing hide and seek with the kids. I am so glad Lisa will now have a "familiar" face when we cruise. I know there are several more 10 year old girls, so this should be fun for all of them.
Matt had a TKD tournament over at Wide World of Sports, so he and Jim only had a short time with the "Mouse" family. But, we all rode Space Mountain together to end our day. We had a picture taken of all of us, so hopefully when OhioMinnie returns from her vacation she will post it.
