Okay Lisa and Mary. Here's what you do. You guys can alternate the outfits. One can borrow the tops from the other and visa versa on different days!

Oh, I forgot.............the only problem is you both have to wear the same size! I shopped a little on Sat. and bought a nice formal dress for the cruise. It fits, but I'd like it a little looser, so I need to lose another 10 lbs. (at least) before the cruise. Got a steal of a deal (love those clearance sales) and only paid $25 for the thing. I think the color would be periwinkle. Long formal dress.

Are you talking about overstock.com for swimming suits at end of summer?

Linda

:jester:

See the size is the problem. Lisa would be more than welcome to my long skirt. She could use it for a private dressing tent :D

Stacey - Yep it's me (and DH:lovestruc) having the vow renewal on our Christmas cruise. I just can't make up my mind on the day. From what I understand it should be on an at sea day. We were originally thinking about 12/25, but now I'm thinking 12/20. What's holding you up; if you don't mind me asking? I am more excited about this one than our "real" wedding!
Cindy

Cindy.....I guess I was too late in calling to request the vow renewal. I think I called Cathy just before the 1 year booking date that they had given us for DD's wedding. (DCL made us wait until one year from the wedding date before we could book it). Anyway, for the vow renewal, I called in December and Cathy told me that they were all booked up for vow renewals. So she said I could wait, and if someone doesn't do the renewal, or they cancel their trip, then I'm next in line. I told her to keep me on the list, but that I'd really hate to think of someone cancelling, or deciding not to do the vow renewal. If we get to, I'll be thrilled (I never had a real wedding) but if we don't, we'll just do it some other time!

Are you doing a Disney renewal package or doing it on your own? I was thinking of looking into setting up our own on one of the islands but I not sure where to start...

I was going to book through DCL...they did a beautiful job on DD's wedding. But, the prices have gone up.

Check the websites (tourism) of someof the islands we're going to...a few of them should have that type of info.
I'd do that, but I don't think I could drag my family out of the water long enough!!
One site that might have info is www.stlucia.org
And there's www.st-martin.org
www.st-maarten.com
www.antigua-barbuda.org

Hope that helps!

two4ruff -
We're doing the disney vow renewal package. I wouldn't know where to begin either to do it on my own. I would think either Key West or St. Thomas would be your best bets.
Cindy

::yes:: Mary....you and I could trade clothing....except I'm only 5'2".......

Well, I'm glad to know that I'm not such an obsessive planner as my friends & family think I am!
Never thought of a spreadsheet. My little laminated cards worked really well, and fit in my wallet. I'm older now, though, and probably couldn't read type that small.

More baseball tonight....one more week, then finally the tourney.
Going to be really hot out there if they play during the day. Too bad we can't borrow Bank One Ballpark!

Back Later,

Stacey

Stacey-I'm 5'2" also. We could pack 1/2 the stuff we need for all our clothes (except the personal stuff, you know) and then switch halfway through the trip! Would that confuse everyone or what! What size shoes do you wear?

Except, only one problem, I am really going to have to lose some more weight, cuz if I remember right you said you were a size 6. I think I was a size 6 right before I was born! LOL!!!

Nope, I think that's Lisa that's a size 6.....I'm with you, I MAY have been a size 6 at birth! Truthfully, I was an overweight baby! My mother had to make me special "diet" formula...no kidding!
So, why I fight it now is beyond me. I wear a 12 or a 14, depending on the style. Now everyone knows my secret! That size doesn't seem bad, until you put it on a 5'2" person. And it's not distributed correctly.
Oh well.
Am calling Omar to make me a swim suit!!

Stacey

Does anyone know if DCL has decided on its excursions for Antigua?
I looked on their site....nothing.
I even tried lurking around on the Antigua cruise thread, but that took forever, and no one said anything on any of the pages I looked at.

:earseek: Oh...I almost forgot!! And this was the coolest thing!

Jordan and I came home today, pulled up the drive, and I looked at the carport (we have a garage, but DH made that into his workshop) anyway, right in the carport, I saw what I thought was a very large cat lounging.
It stood up, we stared at it, it stared at us......it was a BOBCAT!

We see them alot down by the creek, but never before on our carport. Wouldn't I have been surprised to come bopping out the front door and walk right into it???

Anyway, it was scared, and just stood there. Molly was in back....in her yard. She heard my car, so she came around front....
the hair on her back went up, and she bared her teeth like I've never seen her do before. But none of us moved.
Cat looked at us, then Molly, Molly just kept baring her teeth at the cat.
Being the loving mother that I am....I told Jordan to run get my camera. What surprised me was that she did!
But when Jordan got out of the car, Molly started after the bobcat, and the cat turned and ran.

Jared and I walked down the hill with the camera to see if we could find the cat, but it was hiding somewhere.

Lot of fun for a former city girl!

Good evening everyone! :wizard:
Wow... a 10 day cruise and they are already booked up for vow renewals? How many do they do? What does it involve? Is it $$$$$ ??? I was toying with the idea since DH and I eloped and never had a real wedding.... but I guess that's shot now. Should have looked into it sooner... maybe for our PC cruise since we will be sailing on our actual anniversary.

You guys are all way ahead of me in planning. I'm still trying to find a place for the doggies!

Leslie,
I just checked, and DCL has a starting price (for a 7 night cruise) or $2798 for the vow renewal. Maybe I don't want to do it afterall!
I'm guessing that they only do one a day, and yes, I was surprised that even back in Dec they were full.
You get the ceremony, flowers, cake & topper, champagne, concierge service, one night at Palo, some pictures.
We paid less than that to have Megan's wedding on Castaway Cay. I think DCL has figured out that they have another great money-maker!

I think DH & I will just stand on our verandah and tell eachother we'll stay together forever......he can't afford to divorce me, anyway!!!

Vow renewal? You mean to tell me that there are guys that will actually take this kind of abuse! I learn something new everyday on these boards! LOL

Paul

Paul - if you notice - it's the ladies talking about the vow renewals....... nothing is heard from their spouses..........

Virgil
pirate:

REALLY GLAD DW DOESN'T READ THE BOARDS!

You won't find this gal planning a vow renewal either. I'm busy spending my $ on cruises :-)

Has anyone else bought a new outfit for the cruise yet? I picked up a cute capri tropical night outfit. No need for any of you size 6 cruisers to want to borrow my clothes! I'll just say it's because I'm 5'7"...

I haven't told the DH I'm busy spiffing up his outfits too. Do most guys just wear a tropical shirt and dockers for Tropical night?

Take care,
Teresa

pirate: and Paul, I will tell you as a woman that I have done the vow once and that was enough for me. I'm not going to pay to go thru that all over again to the same man. Now I sound like my mother - oh no  .

Teresa - I usually wear A Hawaiian shirt and Dockers. It's pretty casual on Tropical night and I (dare I say it?) wore shorts once!

jilljill - Good for you!

HOLY $*1#!!! Forget that! I can have a couple more cruises for that $$$$! Whew.. thanks! I'll bring my own champagne, pirate: a flower from a centerpiece somewhere, get cake at the midnight dessert buffet and stick a PVC figure on it, make my own ressies at Palo and put a do not disturb sign on the stateroom door...LOL That should make DH happy enough. :teeth:

Hey, Drpirate: and Mr TV Man......I'll have you know that while my DH was watching a really interesting baseball game, I asked him if he wanted to do the vow renewal and he said "Yes dear. Whatever you want, dear".
So, see...he thought it was a really romantic, wonderful idea.
But I'M the one who came to my senses and decided it was too expensive.
