When you start looking at the dates for final payments, PS's and all that, it doesn't seem so far away anymore.

Of course, with it being 100+ degrees outside, it's hard to imagine that December will ever come!

Happy Sunday everone!

Been a busy weekend. Started on Friday with DD 6th grade graduation. She sang a duet with another gal at graduation and it was real nice. Can't believe she is out of elementary school and moving on to junior high. Then she had dancing/singing performance at 2:30 p.m. then we took 30 kids/friends to the 5:20 Harry Potter. It was awesome! Love the movie. Then did the same routine on Saturday again with dance. Slumber party Sat. night, church this morning, and now we are relaxing and watching Disney's "Miracle" (first time I've seen it) we are playing the russians right now.

Can't believe we are only 28 weeks away! I am getting so excited!

We went to see Shrek 2 today. Thought it was pretty good. Loved Antonio Banderas as Puss n Boots.

DD will be 13 and DS 11 at cruise time. I am not as organized as you with plans. Have they announced any excursions for this cruise yet??

I promise to keep up with you over the summer since I will be home, except for our 10 day trip to Texas!

As far as I know, they haven't listed any excursions for us yet. I'm going by some of the same ports on DCL's other cruises, and by looking at books of similar cruises.
My DD will be 14, DS will be 11 also. Hopefully all of our kids will meet and decide to hang out together. It'll be like our own "small town"......they won't be able to get away with anything!

Not that MINE would....the little angels!

Just wondering: anyone ever have cabins 6132 or 6134? We tried to save a little $ by booking the one that used to be a 6 but is now booked as a 7. We were going to go with a 6 and then inside across the hall for great aunt and kids. When we got thinking about it, we decided that with the vow renewal and REAS we "needed" our own private verandah!

Good morning everyone!

Looks like it is going to be a bright sunny and warm day here in Chicagoland. Perfect weather to be dreaming about a cruise!

I got us a sign for our onboard DIS meet. Funny story here. When we were going on our May '03 cruise I volunteered to make the DIS meet sign. Mark and I made it out of cardboard, peel and stick sheets of inkjet paper and green mickey heads from Home Depot. Andy (VerandaMan) saw it and asked if he could use it on his cruise in August. We were going to try and leave it on the Magic and pass it on to each group but didn't have any takers. So I told Andy no problem - I would send it to him after our cruise - which I did. After the cruise he asked if I wanted it back and I said no he could keep it. Looking at Andy's pictures from the NJ DIS meet this weekend I see what I think is the same sign. He had saved it and brought it to the meet! I asked if we could borrow it back for our cruise and he said sure.

The funny thing is when I got the 2003 Dis meet video this year the sign made it on to that as well.

Morning all! Rainy weekend here too. We got DD's project all done. It was actually pretty neat. They did it on the summer Olympics. The kids did about 10 events (frisbee throw, soccer dribbling, triple jump, basketball shoot, etc.) and had to do various graphs of the results, as well as statistics (figuring out the mean, mode, and median, etc.) Then they had to use the internet to research things like how much it cost to travel to the Olympics, how much it cost for hotel rooms, different ticket prices etc.

Now why DD couldn't have done this at school is beyond me, but I think the punishment was actually effective. She was just heartbroken over the sleepover being cancelled. I told her that if she finished the project without complaining, and finished her two language arts writings, that we could take that friend to Harry Potter, and it worked.

We ended up at the 3:00 showing Sunday, and the kids and I really enjoyed it. DH thought it was way too dark, and didn't like it at all. Of course, he thought Shrek 2 was better than the 1st one, and I fell asleep in Shrek 2.

Mary, Thanks for finishing the newsletter. I think I never got around to re-doing the things that got lost in that email before. Maybe for next month, since school will be out and scouts will be DONE! Actually Boy scouts runs through the summer, but that's a drop and run activity for us most of the time now.

Well, better get focused on work. I think my email's about to blow up!

Rumor has it on our Panama Canal Cruise next year that the Magic is going to use a pirate theme. Someone just got off the Magic and a CM in the Oceaneer Lab told them they are going to do some updating and changes next year in the kid's club. Wonder if they will create any special theme for the Christmas Cruise?

Lisa, I'm a great believer in bribery, it works wonders! In fact, having e-mail addresses of boys to look forward to, my DD cleaned up her room enough yesterday to get her computer back!

Mary, great story about the sign, you have a travelling sign! You need to ask people to sign and date the back when it goes to a DIS meet. User ID's only, of course.

Mary, I LOVE that sign! I made the sign for our September cruise (as if making the flowers and decorations for the wedding weren't enough!) But your sign really puts mine to shame!
Why wouldn't I have known that it would! You are truly a woman of many talents! Where were you when I was making all those bouquets????

Lisa.....I'm so glad to hear I am not the only one who falls asleep during movies! I fell asleep before Shrek2 even started. It's no reflection on the show...it's just that I do that in dark comfy places!

Diana.....Jordan decided to clean her room this weekend, too....but she cleaned out her closet, and you should see the pile of clothes on her floor!! Somebody call U-Haul!! Now she's going to think I should fill the closet back up with new stuff.....not!

I made the guys' packing list yesterday for the cruise. That was easy. Mine & Jordan's will be harder. I have no idea what to wear. First of all, I'm still hoping to be smaller, although if I don't diet, I know it's not going away magically! Where's that Pixie Dust when you really need it?
The bad thing is that I bought a couple of "formal" dresses when Dillard's first brought out the Spring line, knowing that come Christmas, they wouldn't have anything suitable for the cruise. I haven't tried them on again, but guaranteed, I won't be able to zip them. And I'm still talking to Cathy at Fairy Tale Weddings, hoping to do a vow renewal....one of those dresses was for that!
Who was it that just said they're doing a vow renewal??

Anyway.....heigh ho...off to work I go...finally.

Stace, it's stingfancb that's doing the renewal.

And I've started a spreadsheet for packing. MIL has asked me to make her a list, and it just worked out best in spreadsheet form. That way I can decide what's cruise only, what's parks only, etc.

I've actually been mentally planning out the first few days. Things like, "on Thursday morning, I think we should either take the van over to MK so that Dad's scooter can come with us, or maybe we should take the bus over, then we can take the monorail back to Epcot for the afternoon, then we're just a boat ride from the Boardwalk, and we won't have to drive back". Man, you know that's obsessing!!

I'm still looking for a nice long black skirt or fancy black pants. I've got 2 really nice fancy tops, but not the bottoms! I'm planning on those combos for semi-formal, and maybe Palo? I'm taking a green velvety formal that I already have for formal night.

Of course, being cheap, I'm only looking in the clearance sections!

Lisa - you and i have an opposite problem. I have the long black skirt, but need to find some fancy tops Of course I was hoping I would much smaller so I could buy all new things, but if I don't get my butt in gear that isn't going to happen.

Dancind - actually I suggested to Andy that he put the dates on the back on the sign so he's going to do that. He's got another cruise in August and then he says there may be another NJ Dis meet in the fall. Then he'll send it on for us to use on the cruise. It will be fun to see how many events this little sign can get to.

Lisa - I always do a spreadsheet for our days at WDW . Start with the park hours, then put our PS, anything special (like our MH events) etc. It really helps even if we don't follow it to the T. We had to make some changes this trip due to some unexpected surprises and having the spreadsheet helped!

Stacey - Yep it's me (and DH) having the vow renewal on our Christmas cruise. I just can't make up my mind on the day. From what I understand it should be on an at sea day. We were originally thinking about 12/25, but now I'm thinking 12/20. What's holding you up; if you don't mind me asking? I am more excited about this one than our "real" wedding!

Mary, go to Chadwicks.com After posting this, I went over there and ordered a 2 piece formal (long skirt and jacket) for $49!!! There are several fancy tops running from $9.99 to $29.99 on the clearance page. I had already bought the pink beaded shell and the bronze silk wrap blouse.

And the size thing is a problem for me too. I'm pretty comfortably in 6s now (thanks to WISH), but don't want to drop down any more. I'm buying everything in a 6 and hoping that it works for Dec. I am waiting on the swim suits because I think those are more important to be the right size! And I know they'll go on overstocks around August. Good luck!

Okay Lisa and Mary. Here's what you do. You guys can alternate the outfits. One can borrow the tops from the other and visa versa on different days!

Oh, I forgot.............the only problem is you both have to wear the same size! I shopped a little on Sat. and bought a nice formal dress for the cruise. It fits, but I'd like it a little looser, so I need to lose another 10 lbs. (at least) before the cruise. Got a steal of a deal (love those clearance sales) and only paid $25 for the thing. I think the color would be periwinkle. Long formal dress.

Are you talking about overstock.com for swimming suits at end of summer?
