Growing up we had horses....well, ACTUALLY, my sisters had them, then they moved out and I had to take care of them. My recollection of them was more like this:

"Horses change lives. They step on your feet. They swim across the lake with you on their backs. They roll over to scratch themselves while you're riding them. They demand water, not ice, in the dead of winter and you have to chip the ice out of their pails."

We had various and sundry houses including a Chincoteague pony (bought at Pony Penning days in 1967) that lived to be about 32 yrs old!

Mary - Well we've narrowed it down some more. The DW loves to snorkel and I do ok after my initial terror is over, so it will be some sort of snorkel excursion. It will probably be the Catamaran,Sail,Snorkel & Beach Cruise or the "Excellence" Power Cat Cruise and Snorkel.

We've been looking at those as well. Ever since I got a mask with my prescription in it I love snorkeling!

WHEW! Good thing I came and 'd 7500! I went back to my cross stitch and started to stitch again. And something wasn't right. I ended up having to yank out about 30 stitches because I was off. Had I not taken that break I probably would have continued being off for much longer before realizing it.

In case anyone is interested....here's what I'm working on:
(I've wanted to learn to quilt for a long time, but haven't found the time.....I found this pattern and now can cross stitch a quilt block!)

Mary - Like I've said before I'm not much of a swimmer. Once I get over my initial fear I do ok as long as I have a "floaty vest" on. Once I get going I enjoy it. In fact I have an underwater housing (although crude) for my video camera.

Happy Monday!

Hope everyone had a great weekend! I stayed off the treadmill for the weekend but was back on this morning. Scale isn't moving much but I'm feeling good so I'm determined to stay with it. Need to get this old body in better shape to keep up with you guys

Morning everyone. Karen, great job on the 7500 and TOP! BTW, my MIL is a great quilter! They have a group that does it at her church, and she really enjoys it.

What do we intend to try new on this cruise? Well for DH and me, we are going to try Palo. Never got to it. I wasn't comfortable sending the kids to dinner without us, and it just didn't seem to be worth the trouble. Now with 10 nights to choose from, I think we'll try it.

For the in-laws, it will all be new. MIL and I will probably do the Palo High Tea. I've done High teas several times and really enjoy it. MIL has never done anything like that. MIL will be taking her first flight ever (FIL has only flown once before), getting on her first real ship (FIL was on one as a Marine, but the accomodations will be a bit different ).

When I picked DD up from the camp bus (she has a great time btw), we went over and shopped at Tyson's Corner. I found a cute dress for formal night for her. I realized that the outfit I have in the closet is NOT going to fit her come December. This one has spaghetti straps, but it's still young lady-ish, not lady of the night-ish, lol! We actually looked in Juniors, since she's getting so tall, but boy, the styles there I'm not ready for that yet! All you cruisers with older teen girls will have to help me figure out how to adjust to this growing up thing!

DS had his nose out of joint, since I "never get anything for him!" We had a long discussion about that on the way home, and he finally settled down. Believe it or not, it helped to remind him that he has a nice suit hanging in the closet that he's going to wear on the cruise. He even mentioned maybe he should wear it to church sometime soon???

I'm thinking that the hormones are hitting him now too, since he's become quite the drama boy lately. DD started this last fall, and I know I'm not ready to go through it with a boy yet!

Thank you for all the birthday wishes.

Our weekend was busy and wonderful. It was great to visit with DH cousin's. DH surprised me Saturday night for my bithday and rented a strech limo for the night. We went into NYC with DH's cousins, a couple we are close with and us. It was so much fun. We went to a wonderful restaurant in NYC called i Trulli on east 27th street ( for all that are familiar with NYC) It was an excellent northen italian restaurant. From there we went to a street festival in Little Italy. It was hard getting up the next morning with all the children but it was so worth the nice surprise.

All the relatives left last night. I am now on the way to the denist as I cracked my tooth yesterday and will need root canal.

LeiLani, How is your mom doing?? Thinking of you.

Karen, congrats on the 500 post and 7500.

Lisa, Did DD love camp?? I am so not looking forward to those hormones coming into play down the road. DD at 7 is starting to have the attitude thing going on lately!!!

I am glad to hear Stacey arrived safe at her family's house and she is having a good time. We miss you Stacey!!!!!!!!!
