6600!!!!

And a T.O.P.!!!

I kinda like talking to myself!!!

Well, it's that time.....puppy's in bed, family is in bed...my turn!

BEAUTIFUL THURSDAY MORNING TO ALL OF THE EAST COAST CRUISERS, THE WEST COAST CRUISERS, AND EVERYONE IN BETWEEN!

Good night, and have a great day!

Stacey

:flower1:Good morning cruisers!:flower1:

How is everyone doing this morning.

Stacey - I get Magellan's too and love it. Also Travel Smith. Great catalogs.

Paul - I wish I had your dedication. I need to start exercising regularlly and just haven't done it. I think I've become a WISH reject :(

Well off to read the boards and then off to work.

Hey everyone - got some questions. Yes i know we are 6 months out, but it is time to start thinking about these things.

I've read on other post that people are already making their REAS reservations and I want to be able to make ours as well.

I just don't want them to interfere with what we as a group have planned. For example I don't want to pick a time for our couples massage that then conflicts with the DIS group brunch.

We have 3 sea days (the 20th, 21st, and 26th) what day do you think would be best for the group brunch?

Gail (I hope Gail is reading - miss you!) I think you were organizing the group for early seating dinner. When do you think would be best to call that in and won't you need reservation numbers etc. to link the reservations? Is there a specific rotation we want to be on?

Anyone have any suggestions as to when formal night would be? I'm thinking either the 20th or the 21st with Semi-Formal being the 26th (they usually do these on sea days).

Who else is doing REAS? What are your thoughts?

Any and all help would be appreciated.

Good Thursday Morning Everyone!!!

Happy Birthday Jay(justmestace's DH):bday:

Happy Anniversary to Gail and her DH.

Yesterday was our anniversary and DH actually made it home so we could go out to dinner. I can't believe we have been married for 20 years.

Stacey - to tell you the truth, I hate going back to Vegas in the summer. It is so HOT!!! It is only going to be a nice 76 degrees here today. So why don't you turn on the air conditioner out there on the west coast and cool it off a little while we are there. It will probably be like it always is when we visit and be the hottest days of the summer. We sure can't wait for our mini-DIS meet with you and Diana.

Everyone have a great day.

My vote would be PLAPLAPLAP, personally. That's mainly because in 4 cruises that's what we've always had (by chance) and I'll get lost any other way. :) Is this just so you're sitting in the same area? Or with other DIS'ers at the same table? Not sure I can overwhelm my parents with all these DIS'ers (after all, isn't meeting people over the internet creepy and unsafe???) ;)

Thanks you for the birthday wishes for Jay, LeiLani....and Happy Belated Anniversary! :flower3:
Believe me, I wish I could do something about the heat. Had to laugh, when I go to Omaha to visit my parents, it always rains! Usually the farmers love me for it....this year, they'll hate me!!!

Mary...can't put my 2 cents' worth in....we're late dining!
I was wondering about requesting a certain rotation. I had also figured out that formal night would be probably the 20th and semi-formal the 26th (I read somewhere that by going by the 7 nighters, this might hold true)
So if we had a PALPALPALP (Do they do that?) it would pretty much line up the more formal nights with the fancier restaurants.
Don't they usually have Parrot Cay on the first night for mostly adults and older kids? We had PLA & PLAP on our two Wonder cruises, and it was older kids & adults in Parrot Cay those nights. Even though Jared was on the younger side, it worked out well for us.
It's almost too much to try to figure out....reminds me of Babes in Toyland, "This is much too hard for me..."

OMG....you should have HEARD my mom when I told her we were meeting Paul in Las Vegas!!! I thought she was going to have an absolute cow! I didn't dare tell her that I'd already met one "strange" man in Las Vegas (Virgil). She would have dropped over right then and there!
She found out that Paul was a nice, normal (??) guy, and that it wasn't so bad after all. Plus, I've told her about all the nice things everyone does for eachother, and she's getting over it.
LOL....it took me DAYS to work up the courage to tell her about meeting an internet "stranger"!!!!

I was reading my Passporter, and it looks like Parrot Cay on the first night is mostly families...adults usually go to Lumiere's.
I like Parrot Cay on the first night, because I don't feel like getting a dressed up right after the sail-away party.
Having Lumiere's or Animators the second night would be good, either one.
They also say that on the Eastern, the formal night is on night two...we have more nights, so the 20th isn't a bad guess.

ROFLOL....apparently the puppy likes peanut butter....he just found the mouse trap behind the TV (with peanut butter on it)...scared the daylights out of both of us at first...now I'm dying laughing at his reaction. He's not hurt, just really surprised.
And BTW, remind me that I DO NOT ever want another dog! No sooner did I get into bed, and he started barking. Finally quit (DD said if you ignore him, he'll stop...and he did) but then started in again at 5 am. DH is up at 5:00...do you think he let the dog out?? Nope, I had to get up and do it. Aarrgh.......

So anyway, who was going to be so kind as to arrange the late seaters? My vote is for either PAL or PLA.

Going to read the boards.

Back later.

Stacey

Hi all. Don't really care which rotation we have, just think it's so cool that we have that extra LAP, or ALP, or whatever. Isn't it?

Ohiominnie, I was keeping a list of folks that said they wanted to be at least near each other on the 2nd dining rotation. I don't think they will give us all one big table. Of course, we haven't figured out exactly how to make this happen. I guess the only way to do it really is to link reservations, but can we link them all? Here's the list, I know I'm missing some, because someone offered to take this over. Obviously, it needs some updating.

Second seating

Dancind (Diana, Kevin, DD13 Alicia)
DVC4US (Leilani, DH, DD15, DD8)
WVMD (Virgil, DW, DD19, DD10)
Jilljill (Barb, Jay, DD10 Alexa)
GaRy (GaRy, Vicki, kid1? , kid2? )
Tdk lisa (Lisa, DH, DS11, DD12, in-laws)
Tinkfan (Tina, Sam, DS11, DD13)
Kabuli (Karyn, Randy, Princess Jill (DD-18); Collin (DS#2-21); Derek (DS#1-23) and his Elaina (DFiance-23)!
Athurstance (Angela, Paul, DS12 (George); DS10 (Harry)
Justmestace (Stacey, DH, DD14 Jordan, DS11 Jared)

Morning all. Looks like we are going to get some rain (much needed) here in Salt Lake today. Of course we are.......I washed my car last night!

Stacey-I swore by my 35 MM camera even after we bought our first digital camera (3.2 megapixels). Couldn't get good shots of DD dancing, singing, and all that other stuff. But.............then last Christmas we were in Best Buy and spent $1,000 on the Canon Rebel 6 megapixel camera and then spent more for a zoom lense. It has a sports mode and you can take great pics while the kids are dancing and stuff. And I can hold down the shutter and it will take 5 pictures in a row. You should see the pics I have from Lake POwell cliff diving! Anyway, I swear by our new digital camera and haven't had the 35mm back out since Christmas.

In the last month I have taken over 800 pictures of DD and her group dancing and singing, downloaded them on computer and deleted the bad ones and edited the good ones. I am now working on scrapbooking the best ones. It has been a blast. And I've even thought of all the money I have saved by not going to the photodeveloping place.

Anyway, that's my story. I bet I'll take a couple of thousand pics on our cruise. Good thing I've got that laptop for downloading!

Linda

Hi Linda,
My digital is 3.2 Maybe I'll get an early Christmas gift of a new one!
My plan for now is to still bring the digital for the cruise. I have a new 35mm that's much smaller than my old one, and I'm testing it out to see how I like it before I decide which one to take.
Bad enough I am bringing all of my underwater camera gear!

Anyway...finally leaving. Megan just HAD to stop by and see the dog before they left.....and print their flight itnerary. Nothing like waiting till the last moment!

Have a great day!

Stacey

I'm BAAAACK! Did you miss me? I haven't caught up yet on the thread. You all were busy.

As for rotation, I really prefer LAP cause Parrot Cay is too loud for me. PLA would be our "typical" rotation with middle aged kids (APL is for little kids).

I survived the camping. We had two girls who were really homesick Friday night and they cried til about 2 am. Then they were having a blast Saturday, so didn't want to go home (we offered to send a van load home early). Come Saturday night, they both started throwing up. Now it's not fun dealing with a sick kid anytime, but when you consider that:
1) they weren't my kids!,
2) there was no flush toilet nearby
3) It was about 60 degrees outside on each and every trip to the outhouse
4) I had to unzip and re-zip four zippers each time we came and went from the tent.
5) the wild horses had wandered through our campsite and left us a few presents that I had to avoid;

It was a long night! Luckily, we made it the 5 hour trip home with only one incident, and that was when we stopped for lunch, so my van survived! Remind me again why I volunteered to lead a troop next year???? But really, the camping part was lots of fun. All the girls had great attitudes, and we got to do many fun things.

I'll check back later to catch up with everyone, but I just wanted to let you all know I'm still alive!

Cuz when these little girls are adults, look back on their Girl Scout experiences and remember that camping trip, they will think of their great adult leader, you!!!!

And some of them will be doing the same thing as you are now, making a difference in the lives of girls!

Kudos to you!

Linda

:sunny:

:bday: to Jay!

Happy Anniversary to Gail & Steven :love2:

Happy Belated Annivesary to LeiLani & Richard :love2:

Lots of celebrating!

On our last cruise we did APL which put us on the little kids rotation but it was fun. This was on the Western and put us in Parrot Cay for Key West and Mexicali night and in Lumiere's for Formal and Semi-formal night. I know it is slightly different for the Eastern. Now I wonder how they will do ours since we are a little Western (Key West), a little Eastern (St. Thomas & St. Martin), and a little new (Antiqua and St. Lucia).:D

Lisa - welcome back! We missed you in chat last week.

sounds like you had quite an adventure, but I'm sure all the girls appreciate all your eforts!

:wave2: Hi Lisa, you brave soul! Glad everything went okay (basically) and that you had a good time. I am forever grateful that there are Moms who are willing to do what you do. I never really had the patience for it. (No!?)

A little cooler here today, and a few clouds. Only 98 right now.

Not a whole lot going on today. Had a few things to do at work, but not enough to keep me busy. Almost fell asleep at my desk.

So now I'm just watching the clock tick, waiting for my "night out" with my friend.
I know it's DH's birthday....and no, we aren't doing anything. We don't generally do anything special for my birthday either. Just weird I guess.
I might, however, take him to Taco Bell for Father's Day! (Payback!)

I probably will not get back on tonight...may be a little late, so I will wish everyone a good night and a wonderful Friday morning now!

Stacey

How about doing brunch on the first sea day? That way, everyone can get acquainted right away.

I'd prefer not to have what as known as the "highchair rotation" for dinner. Which one is that?

Cash and I have the REAS package and I am waiting for someone to contact me about setting up the Palo, massage, and massage reservations...I thought I'd see what was available, take the most oddball times that are left and hope that the group will get together for the more sane times....Other than that, I'm neutral...Call me sheep....Baaaa...Baaaa.

We made it home from WDW today. Rained (rather stormed) almost every day, but at least I wasn't at home in the rain.

gaRry, I guess Stacey and I will give you your surprise after I get with her.

Now it's storming at home, so I guess I brought it with me.

Have a good night all.
