Barb - welcome back!

I guess the Highchair rotation is the one we had which was APL. I actually didn't mind it at all - the servers seemed to have as much fun with us as they did with all the little kids.

I do think have Palo bruch on the first sea day would be a good idea. I think it should be the first full sea day which would be the 20th. I say that because on the Western they do brunch on Key West day since we don't get into Key West until noon. That morning is also when they usually do the DVC party.

So what does everyone else think about brunch on the 20th?

I'm hoping to make it to chat. We have a concert series at our college on Friday nights in the summer. It's out under the stars, and it's FREE (can't beat that). We don't get much culture down here (on the 4th of July concert, they have the fire trucks join the orchestra), so we take what we can get. Anyway, I'll join chat when we get back from that so I'll probably be a bit late.

I'm SOOOO glad school is out! My life is crazy enough without it! Minor little kid brag. My DS took his fireman and totin chit tests at scouts last night and passed them both. He also passed his cooking test at last weekends campout. So now he actually has the right to carry sharp objects, and make fire. Be afraid, be very afraid!! And if you're in the tidewater area of Virginia the last week of June, keep an eye out for forest fires (that's his week long campout).

This weekend I plan to go through my closet and weed out the clothes that don't fit. Next weekend I'm in Amarillo TX for business, and I plan to do some shopping. DS leaves for camp the 27th, and my mom comes for a visit the 28th. She leaves the 7th, and DD goes to camp on the 10th.

I think I've finalized my packing list for the cruise. Anyone want a copy? I made columns for each person going. It's in excel.

I just caught up on the last 5 pages of reading.

As for the Brunch I was told last August by the Palo Manager on the Wonder to call reservation 3 months out from the cruise to book a brunch. When I called reservation for DCL they told me to call 3-4 months out. They can not guarntee me which day it will be as I was told I can request a day such as the first day at sea but it depends on what they have going on in the Palo dining room. I will let you all know. I can give them a call again today and see what they say. I will get back to you all.

We are going to a met game tonight with another couple. DH won field box seats at a silent auction. We are psyched. I hope the thunderstorms hold off until the game is over.

Lisa, Your GS troop is blessed to have you as a leader. I hope next year I am as wonderful as you are as a leader. I hope I can hold it all together with 20-23 7 and 8 year olds. There will be another leader with me possibly two total. We will need three to have 23 in the troop.

I finally caught up on all the posts.

Paul, congrats on employee of the month. If your parking is as bad as ours, that parking spot could save you 10-15 minutes in the morning!

Minnie, great news on the puppy to be. We used to have a chocolate lab (on the smaller side, about 70-80 pounds). Turned out that what we thought was DS's asthma was really a dog allergy. If he's around a dog for more than about 4-5 days, he starts wheezing. So we had to place our dog with a rescue agency (they did find him a great home). Now we just get our fix by playing with other people's puppies. And thanks to DD's fascination with the dog shows on Animal Planet, I actually knew what a flat coated retriever looked like. I agree with the whole "liver" vs. "chocolate" thing though. And what's the deal with "party colored?" I think dog people must lose sleep thinking up these funky rules just so the rest of us can look ignorant (lol)!

Gail - nice to see you posting again. With you, Lisa, and Barb back it looks like we are back to normal. It will be interesting to see what they say about brunch. I know brunch is one of the things we can make a reservation for on REAS so if I can help by picking a day and telling her I'm park of a group I will. Like I said I just want to get an idea of what everyone else is doing as a group so I don't mess it up with our private plans.

Gail - what about linking reservations? Do you know what you need from us for that yet?
 
Hi everyone. I just got off the phone with a supervisor from DCL. What I am going to do is fax her a copy of everyones name and cabin number that are going to be joining us for the brunch. They will all be linked together. I have people on the list that never post anymore so that is going to be a problem for the exact count at this point in time. The supervisor told me to request the first day at sea BUT there is no Guarntee at this point in time. we will get it. She told me that since I am requesting it 6 months out that unless they have something already on that day it should not be a problem. The Disney supervisor is going to give it to the higher ups and someone will call be back to confirm that we do or do not have the day at sea for our brunch. I am not going to know for a few weeks as I told her I would work on this today and tomorrow and I would fax the request to her.

So all of you that want to plan your reservations ahead of time should do so and leave this date and time open for the brunch time, But the date is NOT confirmed until I receive a phone call from them. The first day at sea is December 20th. The time of the brunch would start around 10:30-11:30am and go at least 2 hours. The DCL supervisor told me that that would be confirmed as well when they call me.


Mary, I will also fax her our dinner reservation list. The largest tables are seating for 8. So we will probablly have two tables. I have to look at that list and also link us all together for that as well. I will fax this to the DCL supervisor as well. What rotation should I request for dinner???? If they will give it to us???!!!
Anyway, I am going to go start working on all of this as the list for the brunch is very long. I have everyones e mails and pms that I need to make into one list to fax. Gail
 
Great job Gail!

As for dining rotation I'm open for anything. We've done all three rotations. APL is the little kids rotation but will get us in Lumiere's for Formal night and semi-formal (if my calculations are correct). The only bad thing about this rotation for us as a group is that our character breakfast would be the same day as the group brunch (too much food!).

PLA is for those with slightly older kids - might work best for this group. This would have us in Animator's Palatte on formal and semi-formal night.

LAP is usually the adults and older kids rotation. This would have us in Parrot Cay for formul and semi-formal night.

I think Diana is in our early seating group and didn't want the highchair rotation so I would go with PLA. What does everyone else on early seating think?

Gail-still count Robert and I in on the brunch. I just hope that is not the morning for the Building the Gingerbread houses that all the kids/grandkids want to do. Hopefully, they will offer that more than once. From reading last year's daily navigator they limit the number who can make the gingerbread houses!

Lisa-would love your packing list! Then mine would be done too!

Don't think I'll make chat tonight. Jamie has two performances tonight, one at 5:30 MST and the second at 9:30 MST, but I am so excited that.........

WE ARE ONLY SIX MONTHS AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gail - thanks for doing all this work for the brunch. I know Rich and I are on the list but I am not sure if you have the correct cabin number. It has been changed to 8602. If you need any more information just let us know.

All these plans! It's going to get exciting now!

Count us in for Brunch...can the kids come? If so, there are 4 of us....any day is fine.

The only person that probably has a conflict with days might be Cindy, with her vow renewal.

We have a change in stateroom number(s), so whoever was keeping track of the later seating, PM me please!

I have a packing list for all of the "incidentals", and one for DH & DS.....just not mine & DD's yet. I know what we need, just don't know exactly which clothes (size) they will be!

Had fun last night with my friend. We found out we're too old to stay out and party...we were home by 11:00!!

No specific plans for this weekend. Might just stick close to home, and finally test the underwater camera.

Advice needed: The little dog has decided to bark for a good hour (if not more) at night. DD said to ignore him, and after a bit, he'd quit. He did go to sleep the 1st night within about 20 minutes. Not last night. He's not a baby anymore, and he's been here enoug, it's not a strange place. I have a feeling he does this at home, too.....but they wouldn't have told me that!
Any ideas? I still have 9 more nights to go!

I just sent you an e-mail. Thank you for doing this, it's a lot of work!
According to my Passporter, if we are doing DCL's Champagne Brunch, then it is "Adults Only".
If we are doing our own brunch, for DIS'ers, then the kids should be allowed. My younger ones were allowed at Palo for DD's reception, because it was a private affair.
So, private affair....kids okay DCL brunch...no kids.

Guess I answered my own question in my e-mail to you, Gail!

That makes two adults here, still two room numbers.
