Ohh, do tell me more!! That sounds neat! DS would probably be TERRIFIED, but DD is *SO* into scary movies and such, and would get a kick out of it.

Of course...that just HAS to be Superbowl Sunday too huh. :(

 watching the news over here and they tell us it's freezing in places like new york and boston. will florida have the tail end of the chill or am i being paranoid

Nope, not to worry, this is an arctic cold and it won't reach all the way down to FL...ESPECIALLY not all the way to Key West! Plus, it's supposed to move out over the weekend...(but then move back in start of next week).

It IS cold here, to the point that breathing outside is pretty painful, but tomorrow is supposed to be our worst day - after that we should be ok. Tomorrow morning with windchill they are saying close to -45 deg F below...that's -42C to you guys.... :earseek:

he4ofus thanks for the info as for the ghost tour we visited key west in 2000 the ghost tour started from the book shop in duval street. we did not do the tour for lack of time but a guide takes a group of people around the haunts of key west hopefully they are still doing the tour.

Hi, Shingle, nice to see you back. We were wondering when you would have to leave Wales to get here in time for the party. If you don't have a chance to check in again for a while, please have a safe trip. Then, be ready to boogie.

Cap, I'll give you the fact that you have a couple of years on me. But, it looks like I will be the oldest WITHOUT the romance package.

Nikki, here's a link for the Ghost Tour: http://www.hauntedtours.com/

Have a good afternoon.

The tour is 90 mins starting at 8pm...and we have to be back on board by 9:45pm according to the navigator I looked at on Barb's site.

Think that's cutting it close? This would be such a cool experience I think...I've seen these things on a Travel Channel special or Discovery Channel or one of those "educational ones"...

Also, what time is the SuperBowl, what time is kickoff I should say...

:(

I tried to email the silly tour people, but it keeps bouncing back on me...so maybe it's not still going on. We'll see I guess.

Dean, is it ok if I plagiarize material from your door signs design? I thought I would do signs for us, and our friends the Johnsons and the Yees.

Dealer just called - my new car is in. Now we'll have it to drive for the vacation. As a retiree, I'll no longer get a Company car, so have to break down and actually buy one. It's a long time since I bought car insurance.

Judi's going to call her brother in Amherst, MA, and ask if he's having fun in the Winter. Then she'll call her dad in Naples, FL, and remind him how happy he is to be wintering in south Florida, instead of in Massachusetts.

"I tried to email the silly tour people, but it keeps bouncing back on me...so maybe it's not still going on. We'll see I guess."

Nikki, it's probably bouncing because they have their virus scanner rejecting anything that might have the Massachusetts Cold & Snow virus. ;)

Nikki, my new car is one of my Company's (I'm retired from Ford Motor Company) really nice SUVs - the Volvo XC90. I love the powertrain in it - both the engine and transmission. And - dual heated seats, really nice for winter in Michigan.

Purdy!! I love those!

We're considering trading in my car and DH's minivan to get something along those lines, although I think that one is priced out of our range. We're looking at a Toyota Highlander or Honda Pilot...with a third row seat to help cart the neighborhood around. And heated seats are a MUST, we had them in our Audi and I LOVED them.

*wishes her Hyundai had heated seats for today...bun warmers would DEFINITELY come in handy today*

Gary! I may not have plane tickets, but I DID sign up for the Jeep Safari today! So there!

Karyn

When did Ford buy out Volvo?

I did NOT know that!

*crosses "Learn something new everyday" off her to-do list for today*

Cap, congratulations on the new wheels! Sure, plagiarize anything you want, I did. Got one of the pictures from the opening thread http://www.casshew.com/cruisebydate.htm to post your sailing dates. Post some of your final ones so I can borrow those too, okay?

Dean

Nikki, Ford has their traditional brands of Ford, Mercury, Lincoln, plus Land Rover, Volvo, Aston Martin, Jaguar, and a controlling interest in Mazda. I think it's been about four years since we got Volvo. We really are a big company.

Just checking in -- I couldn't keep up yesterday's pace. I feel a little behind today, so I am trying to catch up here.

Tonight my sister and I are taking my mom to see the Lion King - part of mom's Christmas present. Before the tickets went on sale in September she mentioned that she really wanted to see it. I have heard a number of good reviews since its opening last week.

:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Hope to check in later before heading to town.

I thought I'd do a "quick" check on the boards to get caught up and 45 minutes later, here I am... If Kelsey needs help looking after any little ones, I know Jaclyn would be thrilled to help out. Jaclyn turns 10 today... I can't believe it!!! It doesn't exactly make me feel young when my baby's in the double digits... I am giving her a gold ring that I got for my 10th birthday from my parents but I just exchanged the birthstone... When I was picking it up from the jewellers I saw a beautiful cinderella music box and she loves Cinderella, and I have disney on my mind, so.... she's getting that, too!
Karyn, I'm just not sure about this parasailing thing... do you mean you want to go in tandem? I don't know if two adults can do that or not... I don't want to book it ahead of time for a couple of reasons - first being that I am a total wimp and might chicken out; second that if the weather isn't "perfect", then I might be a total wimp and chicken out... third, I might just tell Randy that I went while he was in the washroom (oops, Randy I meant a different Randy... I would never do that to you..):smooth:
Kim, I think Paradise Beach sounds wonderful, too... I'm really looking forward to that!!
I guess this could have been lots of posts, but unfortunately, I have to get back to work...
Have a great day everyone...
