$200 Gift Card with new promo ?

Hey everybody. Just a quick question. I've read posts about people getting the pins for the discounted gift cards and such. They noted how they it had exclusions with them such as not using it towards food, spa services, etc. Well, that got to me wondering does the $200 gift card with the new promo have those same exclusions? I was hoping to use mine towards food....if anybody knows let me know. Thanks!

The $200 card doesn't have the same exclusions. It can be used for food. The e-mail offer is apparently not for a gift card, but for a "merchandise credit".

Yeah I would think so. As long as travel starts before the 28th. I would definitely book with a code.

that would be just my luck! I am wondering the same things as you all! And also, I wonder if it expires when your stay is over? I have two consecutive 7 day trips booked and am wondering if I will have to use the first $200 by the end of the first week? And on my 4/3 promo reservation it says "$200 Gift Card", not merchandise credit, which led me to believe that it could not be used for food, anyone know for sure??? I guess we'll have to wait until the first DISsers to use this deal get back and report??

Does anybody know the secret gift card dance? Too funny!!! The CM said we would receive it at check in and I made sure to print out my ressie confirmation showing we are to receive the gift card just in case there are any questions. Yep, it says a Disney Gift Card, which is the same thing you buy at the Disney stores and you can use those towards food, etc.

I have a question about it too. We booked two rooms under two different names. 1 for my family and 1 for the MIL. We booked through a travel agent. She gave us 1 confirmation letter with everything on it as 1 price.We gave her 1 credit card for the deposit, we will split it all up ourselves. She ASSURED us that we will both be getting the $200.00 gift card. Does this sound right to you?????

My understanding is the gift card is per reservation.
Unless you have two res numbers and two confirmations (each with a different number) I would ask her to double check and write it out for you, as you may be contacting hr upon your return.
Although with two rooms, under two different names it sounds like you have two different res'. Maybe they re-do the paperwork.
Did you make two deposits of $200 each? (Even if it was on one card.) One deposit of $200 would indicate to me it is one res, which means one gift card I would think.

I would double check the paperwork and see what it says. Mine says 1 per package. I get 2 because I have a split stay with 2 different ressie ##. I would make sure. Good luck!

What do you think are the chances then, if it is a regular gift card, that we could use it to upgrade our park tix when we get there?

The gift cards cover a lot. I would guess you could use it for ticket upgrades.
I also would think these gift cards are the same as the ones you see on the counters in stores and can just buy. Those cover most anything. I will have to try to remember to pick one up and read it when I am in the world today.
