My DD is 2 when we check in, but will turn 3 in the middle of our trip. I have not included her on the dining plan to save $$, but it is stressing me out! When I make ADRs and have asked them to note her birthday they ask her age- if I say 3 will there be confusion, should I just say 2? She's not a big eater so I'm fine with sharing my meal with her or paying OOP for something special for her. Has anyone else had this same experience and did you have any problems with them trying to charge you for your child? I really don't want to go through a lot of hasseling with every meal. I'm really stressed over this and I'm considering adding her to the meal plan just to avoid any problem. I'm definately not trying to rip anyone off, and I would hate for the CMs to think we are lying to them or trying to cheat. My husband suggested I just take a copy of her birth certificate if I was so worrried about it! But that sounds ridiculous to me! I would love to hear from anyone else who has been in the same boat! Help!

We are in the same boat, although we are going in Sept. and for the free dining.. I am just counting her as a 3 yr old... We were there 3 weeks ago..and if it wasn't a meal with chilld friendly meals.. we had to buy her , her own meal anyway...so at least this way... she will get her own meal. Although I am only buying 1 MYW pass, so it is not costing us all that much.

Don't stress over it, when we were just there we were never questioned if she was really 2... and she is tall and talks as if she is 20!

As far as I know ss long as she is two at check in, she is two for the entire trip!

Dont worry. When you make your ADR's just tell them she is two (that is her age). I dont think you will have a problem just let them know she will be turining three midway in the trip.

Relax. She's 2 for the purposes of the trip for the entire duration of the trip since that was her age at check in. I'd bring a copy of her birth certificate anyway- we always do when we travel with our kids- they don't have ID, afterall. She won't be charged at meals because she was 2 at check in. You may encounter some problems at restaurants but just swing by the concierge or front desk at your hotel and they'll reverse it for you without a problem.
If you spend an extra 2 minutes explaining it to your server, you should be fine.

Had this situation when DD was turning 3 as far as tickets went. we did not have DDP as we were at Disneyland but the rules were the same when it came to buffets. No problem getting her inwithout a ticket and no questions asked at dinner. When we made ressies we told them she was 2 and they had that on the books when we checked in so no questions were asked

Disney works it so that your age at check in is your age for the entire trip--so 2 at check in is 2 for the entire vacation. That applies to tickets and dining. It also applies to the cruise! Don't stress out, and when you make the ressie, just say that she is 2.

Don't let that stop you from getting her a birthday button and let her have a b-day cupcake on that day!princess:

Our DD turned 3 during our trip last September.

When we went to the MK on her 3rd birthday, she was wearing her pin. (I picked it up the evening before) The CM at the gate asked DD how old she was. DD said 3, very proudly. The CM then proceeded to say to me, somewhat loudly, well you should be paying for her since she's 3 now, but I'll let you slide since its her birthday. I was mad  because she said it loud enough for other guests to hear. I felt horrible. I then told the CM that was untrue. We've been at the resort for over a week and she was 2 at check-in and she would be 2 for our entire trip. The CM started shaking her head. By this time I was ticked because I felt like white trash trying to get my kid in for free. I finally said, pretty loud, if you would read your mickey handbook as you should have, you would know you are wrong and if you don't believe me, get a manager and we'll straighten it out. The CM didn't say another word, just let us in.

At dinner at 1900 Park fare we told the waiter DD was 3 that day. We didn't get charged for her dinner and Cinderella even sang DD Happy Birthday.

Let your DD wear her birthday button proudly. I'm sure we just got a cranky CM.
