Is that normal? I know we didn't buy her park tickets because she is not 3 yet, but we did have to pay for her seat on the plane, and she likely will have a checked bag, but in our ME packet we did not receive a yellow luggage tage with her name on it.

If we do need to check a bag for her, how do we do that? I know I have read that you can get extra ME tags when you get to the airport, but I have never used ME before, so this is all new to me!

Thanks in advance!

You cannot get extra DME tags at the airport. You would have to contact DME at Disney and have them send you more yellow tags.

I believe that any child under 3 is free in a room, thus isn't listed on the room reservation for DME and does not receive an official ticket for the DME bus. They still can ride the bus. If I am wrong, someone please correct me.

I believe you are correct, Duds. We do not receive tags for our under threes. I used to call and make sure DME knew that the little guys were coming but I don't even bother with that anymore. And we NEVER need luggage tags for our littles. Even with our big family, I never check more than two suitcases. Yeah. I'm that cheap! ;)

Call today and have them send out more. Don't wait too long or they won't have enough time to print them and get them to you. And call DME directly, do not call Disney.

Did you receive 2 luggage tags each for everyone else? You could use one of those on her suitcase, unless everyone is checking two bags. I just received tags this week and got 2 for each person. I know we never check more than 1 bag per person.

I don't know if I received two for everyone else... I know that sounds odd, but that was actually something I wondered about. The yellow tags are long, and kind of folded (almost look perforated?), but I assumed each was just one long tag that you peel the ends of and connect together. But then I wondered if each is actually two smaller tags attached together that you are supposed to separate in the middle?

Sorry if I am clueless. Never used DME before!

You should not cut them across in the middle or they might not be long enough to go around the suitcase handle and stay on.

They (Magical Express) will still get the bags without yellow tags for you without your going to the carousel. You will have to go to the DME welcoming counter instead of letting the roving pre-welcoming CM (if on duty) have you go directly to the DME bus.

I have never used DME so this upcoming trip will be our first time. I just pulled out my DME packet to check the tags. I only received 2 tags, (one for each of us). The tags are folded not perforated. They are meant to have the two sticky ends joined together.

DME is sending only one tag per person now...has been the case for years. When the airlines started charging for second checked bags (in all cases except SW) and in many cases, the first bag, DME figured that very few people would need more than one tag pp....so they are going with that now.

But again, you can call them directly and they will send you addtl tags, but you have to give them at least 10 days notice.

Each one is just one long tag. They are not meant to be cut across the middle.

Yes, I would just call and order a second set of tags, and then use someone else's tag on her bag.

We fly SW and check more than one bag per person, so we always have to call once we get the DME packet and request the extra set of tags. Short phone call and there's no problem in getting them sent out. :)

we got ours last week and even our under 3 yr old got one, and he got one last yr also.

We just copied one of ours for our under 3 year old. I have a color copier so the copy was yellow. I cut it so that it looked like the others and put the thick tape around it so it was sturdy and put on my grand daughters suit case and it was delivered with the rest of our luggage.

We did this twice, no problem or questions. Better then dragging the extra bag with us. Had enough with the carry on's each, stroller and car seat. Might now be the best way, but it was the only option as too close to send another. Not trying to sneak an extra bag, just one a tag was not sent for.
