2 Rooms at POR vs 1 Room at Boardwalk

Our family of four adults will be going in May. We had originally booked two rooms at POR, but with the latest discount that came out, we were able to get one room at the Boardwalk for about the same price. I realize we're giving up a lot (mainly a second bathroom) to stay there, but we love the proximity to World Showcase.

Anyhow, I noticed that the square footage of a standard room at BW is a bit less than at the Yacht & Beach Club resorts. And having stayed at the Beach Club before, I didn't think our room was all that spacious for a deluxe resort. Now I'm wondering if we'll feel too cramped. Thoughts, anyone?

For me it would depend on the length of stay tbh, but it comes down to preference, IMO. Personally, I think I'd be fine with it for a shorter stay, but I'd probably much prefer the space afforded by 2 rooms for vacation of 5-7 days or more.

We love POR. I’ve never stayed at BW, didn’t know their rooms were smaller than BC/YC. We stayed at both YC & BC, & POR.
It may feel cramped, depending on the composition of the 4 adults, Male, female, ages... but at BW you have a balcony, request a full balcony, which gives extra room. I enjoy sitting on the balcony with my morning coffee while other can be getting ready. I travel with 1 or both my adult daughters. DH Stays home, not a Disney fan so I get Mom/daughter(s) trip :upsidedow

I've stayed at all the resorts mentioned and it never felt like the standards in BWI were smaller than the BC rooms. If it were me, I'd switch to the Boardwalk. I would much rather be closer to EP and DHS, plus you'll have the balcony for a little extra space.

Thanks for the input everyone. And the adults are DH and I, plus our son and daughter. lol

I haven't stayed at BWI, but for our family of 4 adults, we'd probably opt for the POR so we could have the 2 bathrooms. We save SO much time getting ready for the day when we have 2 bathrooms! If its a longer stay, perhaps you'd want to stay at POR for a few days and then stay at BWI for the days when you'll be visiting DHS and Epcot.

For our family, the main issue would be number of beds, even more than the second bathroom. My son and my daughter won't share a bed. You may want to put in a request for a room with two queens and a daybed. I think BWI is similar to BC and YC that not all rooms have the daybed.

I would go with the one room then. For an extra bed if needed have an air mattress sent down or bring it with you. I sent one down when sharing a room at the Swan with my sister and her 20 something son. For around $20 I got a nice double high air mattress off of Amazon.
