1. Do you still do online check-in when staying CL? If so, what would be the advantage/disadvantage in this?

2. We are booked in with a garden view rm in Hawaii CL. What are the chances of being upgraded to a MK view in Hawaii? We just couldn't justify spending $1200 more on top of an already pricey honeymoon...

Because you have a separate check in, there is no reason to do the online check in. You still would need to be taken to the Hawaii building and check in there.
can't help with the chance of an upgrade other than to wish you luck.

You can do the online check-in but it's not necessary. We didn't do it, and had a quick and easy check-in.

As for the upgrade - can't help you there. You'll love the Poly CL!

Because the arrivals process is different for club guests, the advantage of online check-in is somewhat small. If certain information wasn't collect/inputed into your reservation at the time of booking, it may save some time as the Cast Member at the concierge desk will not need to duplicate that information, but worst case scenario, we're talking maybe 30 second to a minute.

While I wish I could say that it happens all the time, the reality is that it doesn't... upgrades primarily happen for occupancy reasons, where lower categories are oversold when there is still availability in upper categories. Since this is an "upper" category to begin with, chances are pretty slim.

Whenever my family and I stay Club Level we don't check-in online because we always check-in on our floor or at the Club Level building, which doesn't take very long. Of course you can only check-in there until 10:00 PM because that's when the Club Level Cast Members go home for the evening.

As for getting upgraded it's always best to make a reservation for the specific room you want, this way you won't be disappointed if you are not upgraded.

We stayed at the Poly CL GV for our anniversary in Nov 09. We tried to get upgraded to the LV but they didnt do it....if you want to see a ton of pics of the room, lounge and the food offerings click on my Nov 09 thread in my signature

We have never used the online check-in while staying Poly CL-more personal-like check-in when you arrive but I suppose you could still do it.
As far as getting a free upgrade-we didn't get one & we didn't ask either. The only time I could say we did is when we were in Rapa Nui longhouse and had a view of a dreaded stop sign so I called the front desk & they moved us to Aotearoa with a view of the castle-apparently they still considered it GV but we watched the fireworks right from our patio!! Good luck on an upgrade -I think maybe if it's not too busy there you have a chance!!!
