Hello all I love this board!!!! We will be spending our honeymoon this may down in disney. I am very very familiar with the regular dining plan. My 2 part question is the DXDP. We are staying 9 days and have 8 signature resturants picked out for dinner. Thus having only 1 more credit and only having to eat twice a day. Im hearing that to get your moneys worth you need to use atleast 2/3 on TS meals. Does this hold true when doing all signatures like we want to do. Second part i will do ADR's for dinner but really want to plan our lunches around how the day is going. Are TS lunches easier to get into without ADR's?

If you are hoping to "get your money's worth" from a financial standpoint, then yes, doing signatures each night and a single TS during the day makes sense. We are doing the DxDDP and have planned signatures for dinner and used our other TS credits for breakfast. If you're hungry in the interim, use snack credits or pay OOP for something to tide you over.

A nice side benefit is that you free up more time during the day to tour and not sit for another meal.

Congratulations on your marriage and have a great time on your honeymoon!

I would not wait until last minute to get your lunch ADR's. With all these popular Dining plans, it is unlikely you will be able to get ADR's without planning in advance. Even if it is lunch.

I'd make ADRs for lunches too. You can always make a tentative reservation, and then cancel it the same day, if it's not working with your plans. But at least then, you have your first-lunch-choice reserved already.

From looking at the menu, it seems signature restaurants are generally well worth the use of 2 deluxe credits. At the extreme, a lobster dinner, plus app and dessert at Narcoose's, can run around $80-$90, easily paying for the DxDP for the day. The California Grill can easily run $60-70, so your day is paid for, if you just get another $10-$20 of value from the plan through the day.

From my own planning, 2/3 rule, doesn't quite break even under most days -- if you use none of the snacks, if you throw out the remaining 1/3 of the meals, etc.
But if you use 2/3 for TS meals, plus most of the remaining credits for a few CS meals, and use some of your snack credits, you pass the break even point pretty quickly.
