We used our points and booked a one bedroom (Jambo) for the immediate family. My in-laws and sister in law decided later they would join us and paid for their rooms just recently. Unfortunately with later availability we are split 2 Jambo 1 Kidani. How far away are Kidani and Jambo and should we try to get all rooms together now or when we check in?

Jambo & Kidani are two separate bookings...you can change your reservations (perhaps by using the W/L to move your Kidani booking to Jambo?)...but you won't be able to request rooms close together "later" as they're two separate buildings...

We're at Jambo right now...Kidani is a 7-minute walk from lobby to lobby (Jambo & Kidani each have their own lobbies)...you can get closer by requesting a room closer to the Jambo side of Kidani, but it won't be "close."

The two areas share amenities (at least for DVC members)...Kidani guests can use Jambo pool (and visa versa); most of the eateries are in Jambo (Kidani has one restaurant, Sanaa...Jambo has 3 -- Mara is quick serve; Boma is buffet style sit-down; Jiko is "fine dining")...Jambo's gift shop is MUCH bigger...Kidani has a very cool water play area, but Jambo has pool-side animal-viewing "stations"...

There are separate bus stops, altho for a seven-minute walk your party can meet at one of the two bus stops, if you want...Kidani is the first stop on the way to/from the parks (Jambo is first on the way to/from Downtown Disney)...

Hope this helps...

You can always ask at check in if there is availability at either Jambo or Kidani when you check in if you can't get a room now, MS had told us for weeks there was not room at Kidani for the 4 nights my parents wanted to stay, but when we checked in suddenly they had four rooms to choose from.

I would try now for rooms at the same place and if you don't get them ask at check in.

It almost feels like two seperate resorts since there is a bit of a walk between them so I would want to be close to my family too.

Have a nice trip.

It's probably about as far as it is from one end of BWV to the other end of BWV. ;)

Actually, depending on how you get along with your in-laws, having a room somewhat separated from them may not be a bad thing....:rolleyes1

:lmao: I was going to say the same thing. As much as I love my family, after a day of "togetherness" it was fun separating at the elevator!

I was going to say the same thing!!! LOL

This Christmas we are taking some of our family (mil, fil, grandmotheril, sil, her dh, their 3 small kids (all 8 will be in a 2 bedroom), my sister, bil, their 3 small kids (in a studio) to Kidani. We (dh, dd 17, ds 16 and I) will be in a 2 bedroom dedicated savannah view. For one moment dh and I thought about putting them in Jambo. LOL Instead all of us will be at Kidani....funny thing is MS asked if we wanted a different area from our guests....which was a great idea, and we said yes. I know it sounds bad, but they are the types that will let the kids (ages range 2 - 6 years old) run to everyones rooms (whenever they want)....that would drive me nuts. LOL I love my quiet time.
