It looks as if it was still sort of dark out during the MM?!? That's some dedication, getting to the Park before the sun's out!

I see that you're also a fan of Cafe' Orleans' pommes frites...you may already know this, but Trader Joe's carries a near-exact replica of them on the frozen foods aisle...perfect for between trips

It really was not that dark, it was just really foggy.

Wow, looks like you, your mother and your friends had ALOT of fun over there. Since i'm still a newb on these boards and will most likely start a Pre-TR a few days before we go, I have a few questions.

Did you write anything down on the days you were there? Or just had a good memory when you came back from looking at the pictures? What's best to cover on a TR, the day, the food and the random things that go on?

Also random questions, where exactly do you get that LGMH? I know at Home Depot, but the exact spot or whatever, I want to get one for my backpack/wear it on my jacket.

I see you had a tattoo on your calf, mind telling us what it was? Saw that it was a rainbow color, i'm interested in it. Also loved that Rebel tattoo on your arm.

This entire trip report has been done from memory. It has been difficult as I have a very poor memory.

I feel it is important to cover all aspects of the trip.

As far as the LGMH... they are available in the paint section at Home Depot. They come on peices of carboard with the name of the shade of paint. You will want to get Alien Green... I think. As far as creating my nametag, I peeled two LGMHs off the carboard, glued them together, wrote my username on them and then had them laminated at Kinko's. I then puched a hole through the top and used a small keychain to affix them to my lanyard and backpack.

The tatoo on my calf is a Gay pride triangle.

Great report. You both look so sleepy in the first pictures and then just a couple of pictures later you are wide awake with big smiles. Who needs sleep when you are at Disney?!

I'm loving your TR. I think my coworkers think I'm nuts since I actually laughed out loud at the early morning pic of Chris with his coffee and cigarette. lol I'm glad to know we're not the only diehards. haha

When is your spring break trip?

I AM SO READY FOR ANOTHER TRIP. My mother and I are talking about taking a drive out to cali in december, which means a day of disney for me! I can't wait to see the Christmas lights!

I'm loving the TR. It is so detailed!! I can't wait to try Cafe Orleans (what would you recommend?) and SMGG. Can't wait to read more.

I'm glad you are enjoying the TR. As far as Cafe Orleans, I personally recommend the Three Cheese Monte Cristo. It is so delicious.

Part 2

The line to Indy was short for it being a friday in the middle of the day. Only 15 minutes. We could not refuse that...

I must add as a mother of two boys it warms my heart that you made your mother a part of your trip. It was great that your friends were there too. I'm sure she was happy to be able to rest and go at her pace knowing you were having fun with your friends during that time. What a nice son!

Sunday Sept 27th



Getting up was difficult. We had sore muscles and feet, and did not get a lot of sleep, but Chris and I did not want to miss our magic morning.


Thank God for free coffee, 5 hour energy and painkillers.

good for you both getting up and fighting through the pain to get to disney! just keep swimming just keep swimming...

i do miss MM (now that i am an annual passholder they no longer apply since i can't bring myself to pay onsite prices just yet lol) i think that MM are the best time to be in the park...my favorite park opening was actually this past january, MM, before sun-up, partly cloudy. the perfect disney day in my opinion

can't wait for your next installment!

PART 8

After picking my mother up the DLH, we left the wonder tower and made our way to DTD. Along the way we so a beautiful bride and her fairytale wedding. (pictures atleast) I had to stop and take a picture.

I love me a horsey!

After that we headed back through DTD. Along the way my mother stopped at Something Silver and bought some earrings and bracelets. I did not think to take a picture of them... jewelry is not normally a present thought in my had.

After me pouting because I wanted to head back to the parks, we left something silver, and went to White Water Snacks.

I was very excited to try WWS. I had heard such wonderful things about it from DISers.

Let me say this, it did not disappoint. My mother and I split the chicken and steak nachos! SOOOO good

Chris was still full from breakfast, so he just re-hydrated.

We entered back into DCA where Chris and I took a quick ride on GRR since it was so warm out.

My mother tried to get a picture of us.... at least she tried.

After grizzly we headed over to bug's land and hurried over to it's tough to be a bug. I had not seen ITTBAB since 2001 and Chris and my Mother have never seen it... I forgot how terrifying it is!!! ALL THOSE SPIDERS!!!

Won't be doing that one again any time soon...

I just never look that enthusiastic with the silly poses! My vow is to look more enthusiastic in the next TR!

Alot of the time my mother was with us, it was very difficult to take pictures. So they are limited for this time frame, but after we left ITTBAB we headed over the the Hollywood pictures backlot and went to go see the Muppets! I am going to be so sad the day they remove this from that theater.

After muppet vision 3D we decided that my mother would probably enjoy a spin on Monsters INC.

After Monster's Inc we headed over to the Animation Building were we met up with Brittany and Jessica and saw Turtle Talk with Crush! I love this show... I thought it would be too childish for me, but this is my second time seeing it, and I love it. I recommend it to anyone who has not seen it. (Be sure to ask him to name all of his children! )

After we explored the animation building and let my mother cool off in the nice AC, we headed back to DL.

Once we arrived in DL we headed to the tiki room.... where the birds sing words and the flowers croon.

I love the Enchanted Tiki Room. I have seen it a million times! I just hope they never try to update it. All the other versions are bile compared to the original.

While there... we met the man behind the legend! Put your hands together for MAYNARD!!!

He wanted us to be ninjas for some reason. I am the fattest ninja ever!!!

If you ever see Maynard working the Tiki Room, you need to make a point to see it! He enhances the show like no other! You will never look at the TIKI room the same again. If you do not believe me, do a search for him on Youtube. You can get a small dose of what we saw last week!


After our island serenade by the birdies, we headed off to Plaza inn for dinner.

My mother and I each had a chicken dinner... so delicious!

Just like last time, I loved every bite.

Chris had the steak dinner, which he loved as well!

I also got a piece of pumpkin pie, which I never got to eat. I was too full... even took it back to the room, but it just sat in the mini fridge. Can any one tell me what I missed? On second thought... don't I'm too sad.

Everyone was happy!

Oh pumpkin pie... I never knew ye...

After a wonderful dinner we slowly made our way to the monorail as to take my mother back to the hotel for the night as she wanted to lay down.

Okay, I haven't seen the rest of the pictures but I can already tell you that these two are the best of you guys. You look so sad! Chris looks like some rock star who had too much the night before. These are awesome pics of you two not only because you guys are adorable, but because they show personality and the reality that is Disneyland. It's fun...but painful!

Did you try Croc Bits and Bites that is there at the DLH? It is basically White Water Snacks, just doesn't have quite as much stuff, but you can take it back to your room. It is a favorite for us when we stay at the DLH.

That is very true. DLR is not an easy vacation... but it is a rewarding one.

There are no definate plans to remove Muppet Vision as of right now. But it has been something that they have been discussing for years. As of right now, they are shooting to have something new in that theater a year or two after Carsland opens. But that could change at any time.

So, the Tiki Room hasn't been updated? So happy to hear that! At last, something I will recognize after being away for 13 years! I'm so excited about my trip this fall, but sad about so many changes as well.

Thats a really nice touch for us actually, Britney performed with both of us for years when we were all doing rocky horror picture show out in AZ(me and her played Brad and Janet alot together haha) and its really nice for her to get free reign of the park with us when we go, makes it worlds easier to spend time with her out there!
