2 guys, a mom and the mouse. NOW COMPLETED!!! PIC INTENSIVE TR.

It looks as if it was still sort of dark out during the MM?!? That's some dedication, getting to the Park before the sun's out!

I see that you're also a fan of Cafe' Orleans' pommes frites...you may already know this, but Trader Joe's carries a near-exact replica of them on the frozen foods aisle...perfect for between trips :thumbsup2

What?! I'm getting my keys! :rotfl:
I:lovestruc pommes frites!

[/IMG]Ok, time to cover what went on while james and his mom hit Blue bayou on day 1.

First off to recap, an old friend of mine I had not seen in years dan had met up with us at this point. He only had one day in the parks with us which didn't start until 130pm and had not been in a disneypark since he was seven years old. Needless to say we had alot to cover and not alot of time to do it in. This part of the report will be less pic heavy due to the fact I was determined to get him on every thrill ride I could in both parks and we were moving pretty fast.

So, first off, we parted ways with James around 4pm. He headed back to grab his mom while me and Dan rushed straight over to DCA as they were only open a few more hours. We went taking in the scenery as we moved and began heading to my favorite ride in either park.....
2tot.jpg
[/IMG]

On the way there we popped into the animation buliding to say a quick hello to Britney at work then made our way over to the Hollywood Tower Hotel. Dan had know idea what this ride was, except that it went up and down, so naturally I knew he was in for a bit of a shock:woohoo:

We arrived at the tower, the wait time said 13 minutes. I love how they use the number 13 when there is no wait, it definately adds to the effect. We walked through the que and got right on. I love tower, its one of those rides I can do over and over and get the same effect each time. Despite it being just a bit more intense then dan thought I think he enjoyed it as well
1Tot.jpg
[/IMG]

After getting off tower we rushed straight over to paradise pier. Dan wanted to check out a few of the sights on the way such as pacific wharf as he is CA born and raised and seemed to be enjoying this park in general because of that.

When we got PP it was time to ride screamin!
3screamin.jpg
[/IMG]

It was at this point I learned Dan was not a thrill ride type person:confused3
But he reluctantly got on.
screaminpic.jpg
[/IMG]

He ended up loving it, but wanted nothing to do with maliboomer. Once again I was not able to ride this ride(had never been on it as friends have always been to afraid to ride with me:scared1:) but luckily Britney went on a few days later:yay:

Anyway, we started heading back towards the main gate when I suggested we single rider GRR on the way out.
4grr.jpg
[/IMG]
We got on with less then a 5 minute wait and got to sit together:cool1:

At this point it was about 6pm, so we headed back over to DL as we had to meet up with james around 8 to stake out seats for Halloween Screams.

We got back to the park with the mindset to use our FP for splash we had grabbed earlier before the sun went down. We failed, but I wasn't about to let my friend leave DL without riding it so we did it anyway.
6splash.jpg
[/IMG]

After that we were both hungry and had a few minutes to kill before meeting james, so we grabbed one of my favorite disney meals
7turkey.jpg
[/IMG]

Finally it was firework time:cool1:

We caught up with james and staked out our spot on main st., while me and dan took turns making drink and snack runs.

The fireworks show was AMAZING and thats almost an understatment. :worship:

I highly suggest everyone view thes fireworks from main st. as it is the only way to take in the full effect of the show.

After the fireworks james' mom had had it with the crowds and wanted to go back so me and Dan parted ways again and rushed over to use our FP for the much awaited Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy!!!!!

We both loved this ride and I must have gone on it 20 times throughout the 5 days I was there, its definately a must do and if you like jumpy thrills make sure you sit on the left;)
14gg.jpg
[/IMG]

After that I took Dan on the few coasters that I feel should be ridden at night. We hit matterhorn(surprisingly a walk on, I think everyone was waiting in the 170 min SMGG line, thank god for FP), BTMRR and then had time for 1 more indy before the park closed.

On the way out we caught back up with james and walked DTD for a few, then Dan was on his way as he had a 45 minute drive home and was already beat.An amazing day with the limited time we were given.

Chris, I think you guys did amazing with the amount of time you had. How nice to see an old friend.

I just read the past 13 pages, do I get a prize?

It looks, and sounds, like you all had a great time! I'm battling on whether or not I should go to Disneyland this month (I mean, obviously I should, but can I?). Your trip report is definitely fueling the fire, I'm dying to go on Ghost Galaxy and see the monkey bride (she exists whether anyone wants to believe me or not) in all her glory on HMH.

All that food looks so yummy. Can't wait to hear about the Lost Bar, I've never been there, but it sounds like a good place to go. :goodvibes

What a great trip, i love your photos they are bringning back lots of memories for me and now i just wish i could go back and see DL with all the Halloween deorations they look fab :)

I still love watching planes too, i always sit there looking at them and taking pics when im at the airport ;)

haha, now that would take some time and effort, looks like I might have start carrying my camera with me at all times:rotfl:

Oh I fully support this statement! I believe everyone should do this, personally. You never know what you will run across. I wish I had my camera when I was driving behind a plumbing truck that said "Got a leaky pipe with drainage, need your hole filled call us we will work you 24/7" oh the cell phone camera didn't do it justice.:rotfl2:

Hey is your elbow double jointed? I looks like it in one of your pictures. Just askin... mine are. haha I notice those things.

You sure did pack alot in with your little amount of time with your buddy. That is super rad!

Wow I just spat water all over my computer thanks for that:rotfl2:
No not double jointed, I noticed that picture too, kinda weird.

And thanks, he really had a good time, Im pretty sure he'll be buying an AP which made me very happy to hear, its always fun helping somone discover how much fun disney can be:)

Ian really wanted to go on Maliboomer, but we ran out of time. :sad1: He is only 12 and would have gone on it with you, next time.:thumbsup2

If we ever end up in the parks at the same time again I will definately hit you up on that, especially since I kind of enjoyed it and id have to count on my only ride buddy being off work if I dont want ride solo:headache:

lol let Ian know he is far braver then most of my 20 something year old friends:thumbsup2

Great report!
The food looks yummy!

Come on Wendylou....all the Kool Kids are going!!!!!

After a lot of family medical drama today, I am finally able to sit down and work on this....

Very nice post. I'd better have breakfast as the food from the Plaza Inn has me DROOLING!!

Yes, you must be more enthusiastic next time :goodvibes Seriously - so fun to read along!

I love the plaza inn. The food there is amazing. Just thinking about that chicken dinner is making my mouth water...

Do Cm's get free admission on their day off? How cool would that be? I also wondered if they could stay in the park after their shift to ride rides? Love the Carnation Cafe breakfast pics, we did lunch but might have to add breaky next time we are there. Can't wait for the TOT pics that you should us!

They definitely get free admission, but I don't know how often they get to ride the rides when the park is not open. That might be a question we have to ask Brittany.

The TOT pics we showed you will be coming when we get to day 5. I can't wait to see what people say about them!!!

Havin' fun reading along...

So, the Tiki Room hasn't been updated? So happy to hear that! At last, something I will recognize after being away for 13 years! I'm so excited about my trip this fall, but sad about so many changes as well.

OK, ready for Part 9! :)

It isn't being updated... yet. I hope it never will.

Great update. The pictures of you guys with Maynard are great.
Too bad about that lonely piece of pumpkin pie. I don't think I have ever been too full to eat dessert. It can kind of just squeeze into the little spaces.

I am still kicking myself over the pie. I will have to go back to Disneyland soon to get another peice... ( I have a problem )

THEY CAN'T DO THAT! It's the muppets, people love the muppets.
I would understand if it was moved somewhere else, but they shouldn't remove it completely from the park.

I feel the same way... I loves me the muppets.

What?! I'm getting my keys!

I know, right? I need to check this out.

Chris, I think you guys did amazing with the amount of time you had. How nice to see an old friend.

I am really happy that Chris got to hang out with Dan.

I'm not familiar with a monkey bride... care to elaborate?

I'm glad to know I am not the only adult that does this...

Ian really wanted to go on Maliboomer, but we ran out of time. He is only 12 and would have gone on it with you, next time.

Ian is much braver than I...

SHUT UP! j/k. If you ask me nicely next time, you might be able to convince me to get on.

Great report!
The food looks yummy!

Come on Wendylou....all the Kool Kids are going!!!!!

I'm glad you are enjoying the TR. Stay tuned, I have lot's of food porn left.

Ladies and Gentleman,

PART 9

After taking my mother back to the hotel, we headed back to DCA in order to get our thrill on.

We decided that a quick ride on tower was in order, especially since this was our last chance to have a night in DCA. TOT is hands down, better at night.

100_2673.jpg

Why yes, I was looking for a gift for mother... but I don't think she would like a thimble.
100_2671.jpg

100_2675.jpg

After our ride on TOT, we made a beeline for paradise pier.

I did not want to miss my last shot to ride California Screamin at night. Much like TOT, it is a completely different experience at night.

100_2676.jpg

It was so much fun, and the line was short enough, so we did it again!!!

100_2678.jpg

After our second ride on Screamin, we did a quick time check to realize that the DCA would be closing in 30 minutes. Chris wanted one more nighttime tower, so we raced back to the Hollywood Pictures backlot.

100_2680.jpg

At this point we had timed it perfectly, and we headed back over to DL before DCA actually closed, so we missed the closing stampede to the gates.

Once we arrived in DCA we contacted Brittany and met her over in tomorowland for a ride with her and her friends on SMGG. (if you can't tell, we have a thing for DLR thrill rides.)

100_2682.jpg

Brittany's friends were really nice, and I really would love to hang out with them again.
100_2685.jpg

100_2688.jpg

After a few minutes of discussion, we decided that we wanted to ride SMGG one more time before Chris and I called it a night.

ALERT ALERT ALERT ALERT ALERT ALERT!

FOR THOSE OF YOU FAMILIAR WITH MY JUNE TR, YOU WILL RECOGNIZE THIS!

100_2687.jpg

After a great last ride on SMGG, Chris and I headed back to the DLH with one thought on the mind.... BOOZE!

That's right... we headed to the Lost Bar. The waitress Angela was amazing and very attentive. We ordered our drinks shortly after picking a seat and enjoying a cigarette.

I had a Gin and Tonic

100_2690.jpg

Chris had a "Captain's Mai Tai".
100_2691.jpg

100_2694.jpg

100_2693.jpg

One thing we did not realize about The Lost Bar is, while the drinks may be anywhere from 7 to 12 dollars.... they make up for the price with heavy hands and good alcohol.

Here is Chris after 1 mai tai.

100_2692.jpg

Here is Chris after 2 Mai Tais...

100_2695.jpg

Here is Chris after the second Mai Tai REALLY kicked in.

100_2696.jpg

After a few drinks, we stumbled back to the wonder tower and made the trip back to our room, where we quickly passed out...

That is the end of the pics for Day 3,

Coming up PART 10 - Day 4, Monday sept 28th (Tom Sawyer's Island, Jack and Sally, and THE BEST HUB PICTURE EVER!!!!!!)

After a lot of family medical drama today, I am finally able to sit down and work on this....

OH NO!!! Mind if I ask what happened? I hope everyone is alright. You're in our thoughts. :goodvibes

ALERT ALERT ALERT ALERT ALERT ALERT!

FOR THOSE OF YOU FAMILIAR WITH MY JUNE TR, YOU WILL RECOGNIZE THIS!

100_2687.jpg

 You see? You see what you did? You totally made me look like a liar because now I have to take back all that stuff about "Oh, I haven't seen the rest of the pics but these are my favorite of the bunch..."! You knew I was waiting for the pinky photo, you knew it! Sneakin' it in there when I least expect it is just WRONG! WRONG I tell you.
:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl::rotfl2::rotfl2:
YAY!! For the pinky photos. The whole car is doing it. Freaking AWESOME!

Here is Chris after 2 Mai Tais...

Oh, I forgot! When you started this I thought you were going for a "One tequila, two tequila, three tequila -- FLOOR!" type thing and was expecting to see Chris passed out some where with permanent marker on his face or something! :lmao:

Come on Wendylou....all the Kool Kids are going!!!!!

Seester! I really really REALLY want to go. I'm trying to make it happen.

I think I should go too! :goodvibes

You can only see the elusive monkey bride when the HMH layover is up, she takes the place of that creepy bride in the attic. She tends to move from year to year, but she is always somewhere in the attic. I've already had one confirmation that she is back this year. I really want to go find her, especially since a bunch of my non-believing friends will be there. It's my mission to make everyone a believer.

It is a long story... but essentially, my father is in the hospital for congestive heart failure, and my mother was told by her doctor that she needs to have back surgery or she will be crippled. This is especially bad since my mother previously had back surgery that left her without any feeling in her left leg... hence the reason she was in the wheelchair at DLR. So I have two parents that are falling apart, and I'm not quite sure what to do right now other than pray.

I'n glad you got a kick out of our pinky photo... We knew we had to throw it in somewhere.

As far as the best hub picture ever... Well the Photopass photographer said it would win him picture of the day for sure, and insisted he be allowed to take a picture of us with his camera just so he could have a personal copy.

Oh, I forgot! When you started this I thought you were going for a "One tequila, two tequila, three tequila -- FLOOR!" type thing and was expecting to see Chris passed out some where with permanent marker on his face or something! :lmao:

I think that if Chris would have had any more, he probably would have been on the floor. The drinks were strong. I have never had a gin and tonic quite as strong as this (except for the ones I make). We asked the waitress Angela if they are liberal with the liquor and she said not only are they slightly heavy handed, but their well selection is not your typical wells. I am used to ordering a well gin and tonic, and they use the cheapest gin they can. Well the Lost Bar's well gin is Beefeaters. Not bad for well.

I'm hoping to have some more up tonight!

Wow, that is the pits. I'm sure everyone is scared and confused. I think the only thing you CAN do is hope. Everything else, unfortunately, is in the hands of someone else. I really hope your family comes out of everything alright, and that you're stronger for going through all the drama. Much love. :goodvibes

Thanks for the new installments! All the food looks delicious! :)

Hey there! I just finished reading your TR and am loving it so far! You and Chris420 look like you have a lot of fun together and your little funny comments throughout the TR really make it. I was so sad that my husband and I didn't get to ride Space with the Halloween makeover - we missed it by a number of days!!! And we missed out on Haunted Mansion...boo! But I'm glad I got to experience both through your TR.

Keep up the good work and I'm looking forward to more installments. :)

PS - I'm sorry to hear about your parents. There is nothing worse then watching your parents in pain and in trouble. My thoughts go out to you.
