2 free roundtrip tickets

I'm super confused :confused3

I called 2/23 about the two free flights and was told that I would see them in my account..

Which account? My Southwest Visa card account or my Rapids Rewards account through the Southwest website?

I'm seeing 867 rewards points on my visa account (from a purchase I made) and I'm seeing 250 points (registration bonus) on my Rapids Rewards account.

Where are the two free flights at and which account are they supposed to go into, my visa account or southwest account?

Go to Southwest.com and log into your RR account. Click on "Where are my old Credits ane Awards?" At the bottom of that page click on "View full list of awards". You should then see Standard Awards.

Where does it say "where are my old credits and awards"? I've read this before and can't seem to find where it says this in order to click. I'm in my rapid rewards and it only has things like flight tracker, Tier status, and a plug for the credit card. I think I've read every word on the page.

I'm going through this exact same thing. I also received 4 postcards saying that I earned a free flight (4 one ways I'm assuming), but there are no codes or anything to reference. I sent them an email last week, and received an autoresponse that says they'll get back to me in 6-10 days. I'm not in a rush as I don't need the tickets til January so I will wait til next week to call.

It's just very confusing and I keep thinking that this is more hassle than it's worth. I know it's two free round trips, but when I look on their site, there are never direct flights to either Orlando, New Orleans, or Vegas from NJ, and Orlando is only a 2hr 45min flt direct, but they all have stops making them like 5-8 hours.

I, too, received 4 postcards saying, "Congratulations! You've just earned a free Rapid Rewards Promotional Award for travel on Southwest Airlines. Please log into your MySouthwest page to review the usage to your promotional award."

I'll probably call later this week as we want to use them for this October or possibly December/January...I'll come back here to repost what happens. :)

Thanks candy!

I'll check that out right now!

When I log into RR next to "Hello Candy!" and where it shows my RR account number is a box with a question mark that says "where are my old credits and awards". I wish I knew how to paste a screen shot but I don't.

Just a few words of advice.....book your flights as soon as you know what dates you are flying. There are a limited number of seats on each flight available when using Standard Awards. There are seats left on some flights the days we want to fly in September but they are not the times we want or they include 1 stop so we won't be using our awards for our Disney trip unless a reward seat opens up between now and then. I also found out blackout dates apply for these awards so of course I cannot use them around Thanksgiving time when we go to visit our family. So I am either going to lose them or plan a long weekend in Vegas. Vegas here I come! :)

Southwest called me yesterday after I emailed them last week. Apparently I have two rapid rewards accounts, one that I set up and one that was automatically generated by them when I applied for the card (which I don't have a password for since I didn't set it up). The free tickets are showing up on the automatically generated account. The man I spoke to said he would merge the two accounts into the one with the free tickets. I checked back this morning, and I can still only see the one I opened with no free tickets in it. I'll try to access it again later, but I have a feeling this got screwed up.

Why not just let them book them for you over the phone? I had to do that for my husbands free flights. Mine showed up in my account, but he also had 2 accounts like you. His didn't show up in the account I looked up, but when I called they showed them and I just booked them on the phone.

I'm not planning on going anywhere anytime soon. We're probably not going to go anywhere until Jan/Feb when DH gets new vacation time as all of his is already planned for this year. I might just leave it anyway and call it in sometime over the summer as that does seem to be the easiest way to handle this.

I'm thinking I won't be keeping this card anyway as their flights from NJ mostly include stopovers (at least anywhere that I've looked to fly) and are rather high priced, so there's no real benefit other than the free flights I just received.

I applied for the new card where you get 30,000 bonus points after first purchase. Both my husband and I opened an account. Today I finally got my points and the sale came out today and I was able to get 4 free roundtrip tickets with our 60,000 points! Yay, I am so excited! Now really they are not "free", there is an annual fee of $99 on the card, plus the $5 fee on each round trip ticket, so I paid a total of $220 for 4 roundtrip nonstop flights!!!!

so heres my questions...and if I or someone else asked this before please forgive me...my brain left me!:lmao: If I get my parents to apply for the card can they "give" me or purchase my tickets for me with the points? this is sooo confusing!

Yes, they can book the tickets in anyones name that they want.

Has anyone here tried this new credit card promotion?

Is it the same thing as what was initially discussed in this thread?

http://www.mychasecreditcards.com/southwest/promobox?int=HOMEPROMO1BRRVISA110419

The promo from this link is for 20,000 points, which is Southwest's new award system as of March 2011. I just priced our June FL flight, and it is 22,000 points for one person. The previous promotion from Feb was for 2 of the "old" type of awards that were good for flights anywhere but subject to blackout dates and capacity controls.

Ok I see what your saying. Damn I missed out on that promo.

I just emailed Chase about this card. I put off making my first (and going to be only) purchase with my card, because some were saying it was only good for a year after earning it with no extensions. I really wanted to wait, but decided that since the promotion has now ended, I better use my card before they "forget" their promise. I printed out the offer stipulations when I got my card, just in case.

Anyhow, there are only 68 points in my account. I know some people said Chase told them it will take 6-8 weeks to get the points, buit I want some assurance that I WILL get them. I need to use them in August. Not sure yet where we will go, although I do have some ideas in mind. I've already paid the annual fee, so Chase better come through.

Has anyone had a problem getting their points added into their rapid rewards account? I got all my initial stuff from signing up for the card and now my second statement closed on April 16, Chase transferred my rewards points, but they are not showing on SW's end. I have called and gotten a different answer each time. Wondering if anyone else if finding the same problem.

I got my points a few days after my statement dropped. I have already used them and booked 4 free roundtrip tickets to Orlando!!! (my husband and I both opened an account):banana::banana::banana:

Good luck, I hope they work it out for you soon.

I emailed this morning, and got an email back saying they would credit my account in 6-8 weeks. I hope there will be available flights for when we would like to travel in mid-August.

Thinking of applying for this card. Anyone know, can you combine using points and $ credit from a previous flight on one ticket?
