2 free roundtrip tickets

Thinking of applying for this card. Anyone know, can you combine using points and $ credit from a previous flight on one ticket?

I don't think so. From what I can tell and understand, if you want to use points, you need to use points for the whole thing. Best way around this would probably be to book two one-ways rather than a round trip. You could use your credit on one one-way and points for the other one-way.

That is right. It is either credits or points. The points work great when you have a cheap flight. Only problem I am having is getting my points transferred over from Visa to SW. My account closed on April 16 and I still have not gotten my points. I have called both SW and Chase and no answer. Finally today someone at SW took some time to look into it and there was a problem with the "drop" and they need to redo it. She said she would call me with a resolution but I still have not heard back. Just be aware that it can take "6-8 weeks for your points to drop".

Yeah, I think when you buy tickets with points you can only use points to purchase the tickets. There is no use of credits allow when purchasing flights for points.

We got this card when they offered 2 free rt tickets. I made my purchase and paid the balance off right away. I have had 2 cycles already and no rewards. I was told 6 to 8 weeks also. I want to book my airfare for our sept trip so I called and asked. They said they only transfer rewards1x per month and the next time they transfer will be may 15. I hope they are there, but every time I call I am told something different so we will see!

That is not right. I got my sign on bonus right away and so did a lot of others that signed up for it. I am so frustrated with SW. It seems like they don't know what is going on or they are postponing awarding points in hope of people paying cash for their flights instead of using the promised rewards. I have never had an experience before where such a large company was so backwards. On one call I was told that the points were manually added to each persons account by 2 women. I really can't believe that. In another call the rep did nothing but listen to me. I kept asking for him to answer me but he would not. Only said it will be 6-8 weeks. Asked for a manager so I could get some information and he said my name and number would go into a queue and I would get a call back in 5-7 days. They blame Chase but in other Chase accounts I always get points right away. So I feel like it is all SW. Very frustrating.

I would call and speak with someone else. I had a tough time with my rewards because Chase set up the Rewards account and I had no way to access. Finally I had to get the RR number from chase and then call Southwest and have them arrange to have me emailed a password. it happened with both cards but I have to say I have successfully booked 4 roundtrip tickets to orlando this summer....YIPPEE..

My Chase points finally dropped. 11 days after my account closed. But I added an additional user to my account and was supposed to get 600 points but those are still not there. I asked for a supervisor and I am still waiting for the return call.

Add me to another person frustrated with the Southwest Rapid Rewards Visa. I signed up the the deal with $500 gc and 1 rt flight. I got the gift cards but never got the free flight so I had to call and argue with them about the free flight. Finally they said the free flight would post in 6-8 weeks.

My dh and I both applied at the end of February for the 2 rt fares.
My dh used his card on march 3 , I used mine about 2 weeks later.
MY rewards for 4 flights were applied to my SW account in apr and points for Mar and april.
Nothing is showing up for my dh's account. I called sw mid april and was told to wait a week. @ weeks a go he received postcards stating he had 4 flight awards... statement shows points forwarded to southwest but no one can find what happened to them. Do I call Chase or Southwest?
Anyone get a solution to their problems?

I called chase again since it had been 10weeks and no rewards. The said their marketing dept would look into it and contact me in 5 to7 days. I will give them a few more days and call again. Both my son and daughter applied at the same time with the same promotion and none of us have gotten our rewards applied to our acct.

Got approved about 3-4 weeks ago and still haven't gotten the cards to even use. I did see it on the Chase website that I was approved and 2 days ago I see the $99 annual fee pop up. So, I thinks it's bad taste that I'm being charged the annual fee before they've even sent me the dang card.

I agree that they are stalling - I think they realize so many people are applying so that they can hopefully book their trips with the rewards instead. I know I for one had to book 2 sets of tickets (2 separate trips) from when I applied and had to pay for those instead of using rewards.

I wonder how many people apply, don't check their statements, etc. and SW winds up not having to "pay out" so to speak? Not everyone is diligent.

I got 4 separate emails from Southwest today saying I have a flight reward. Chase had told me in a prior email it would be about 6-8 weeks. It hasn't been that long, which is good, and I'm guessing my flight rewards are out there somewhere, but I haven't been able to find them yet. I think someone said SW or Chase had opened a new Rapid Rewards account for them, but the account # in the emails is my old account #. I'm going to give it a day or so to see if they show up, then give them a call. I'm excited that I should be able to book summer vacation soon. We are probably going to the Grand Canyon. Can't wait.

ETA: Yippee. I followed the directions from post #181 (thanks, poster) and they were there. It just says "standard award---doesn't say points or anything, but there are 4 of them, and they expire in a year. Many thanks also to the person who first posted this deal!

Aw that is a shame about SW being so slow to post rewards. I was the OP a few months ago that couldn't get over SW Customer Service. My awards were posted to my account within days of being earned and my gift cards were mailed before statements even closed. They must have just gotten SLAMMED on their promotions. My understandig is the FREE TRIPS expire 1 year from earned but free gift cards are good forever. I booked my August trip on all free round trips b/c they expire first and am saving the gift cards for next trip.

Sorry that is long gone. At one point it was reduced to 20k free miles per card....and I believe that offer still exists.

Both my mom and I applied for the $99 Premier Card on the same day and were approved. It took three weeks for our cards to come (received them on the same day) but my Chase account showed the card within two days of me applying.

We both activated and made our first purchase within a day of each other. My 30,000 point showed up within a week of my purchase but my mom's still isn't showing two weeks later.

As scott said that ended in Feb. I believe.

Also the current deal is 20k pts or 30k pts depending on which card you choose. I think the 20k has a yearly fee of $79 and the 30k has a $99 yearly fee.

Finally got my free flights!!! They actually were credited to our rapids reward acct in march. Southwest set up a rapid rewards acct and never gave us the number. My daughter called today and got someone who knew what they were talking about and walked her thru the process and there were her flights! I had to call sw to get the rr# then call rr to have them add an email address to it, then went online to set up the password. I have called 4x this month alone and was told I had to wait till next month when they were there all along. I think I will be cancelling this credit card before my annual fee is due again.
