2 free roundtrip tickets

So I think I want to wait for 3/1 so I won't have to worry about seat availability--but what if the offer ends after 2/28? Anybody heard anything about that?

I was going to post this same question. I thought I read on the Transportation board that it was ending 2/28, but I'm not sure that's been confirmed.

Of the people that have recently applied for cc with the 2 free flight deal and have received their 2 free flights on their statement tell us if they are getting RR credits (old system) or points (new system).

I talked to Chase and SW reward people about this. 2 free RT flights will be converted to the new reward program; 2 free RT = 38400 points after first use of the card.

I called SWA, and they told me the exact opposite! They said that I would get 2 round trip flights, even though they won't post until march. I am not sure what to believe, but I think I am going to go for it, and hope for the best!

Did you happen to ask if the offer was ending on the 28th?

Unfortunately, I didn't. I am assuming it will end, and they will begin some new promo. I am not sure what it will be, so I am going to apply today and take my chances on this.

OK, so if I don't want to use these free tickets until our Disney cruise in May 2012, could I delay my first purchase until late May 2011, therefore making the free tickets good until late May 2012? Thanks :thumbsup2

I found this in the RR 2.0 FAQs:
What happens if I have credits earned through qualifying purchases with Rapid Rewards Partners that have not been deposited into my Rapid Rewards account prior to transition to the new program?
Credits earned prior to the transition date through qualified purchases with Rapid Rewards Partners but not deposited into the account at the time of transition will be posted to the account on or after the transition date as Rapid Rewards Points at the following rates: .25 (quarter) credit = 300 Rapid Rewards Points, .5 (half) credit = 600 Rapid Rewards Points, and 1 (whole) credit = 1,200 Rapid Rewards Points

(scroll about 1/3 of the way down)

So it appears, at least if the SWA Visa is considered to be a partner, that kotto1234 has the correct information.

My billing cycle closed yesterday so my credits/points should be in my RR account this week if everything transitions correctly. I guess we'll see how they handle it very soon.

Are we getting new Rapid Rewards numbers now? I can't sign in with my old one when I try to see if my free flights are in my account.

According to their Facebook status and a lot of people on flyertalk, there are a bunch of problems with the website. Big screw up by the IT department following the migration to RR 2.0. Most people can't log into their RR accounts.

I can't get onto my acct either. I did get an email last week that said the account access would be down until today. I am not surprised there are glitches though...I remember there was similar problem before too with loads of website glitches.

I see that they've changed the bonus to 20,000 points... does anyone know approximately what that would equal out to in terms of redeeming for a flight? In other words, approximately (I know how it varies depending on the actual cost of the flight) how many points does it take to redeem a flight? I meant to apply before today to get the two free flights, but never did get around to it. Now not sure if this is worth it?

It costs 60 pts/$1 to redeem for a flight. So, 20,000pts/60 = $333.33 in flight money.

From what I saw, that is for Gotta Get Away prices only, and the points per dollar went up from there. 100 points per dollar and 200 points per dollar I believe.

You are correct, that is the only fare I ever book so I kind of got tunnel vision. You earn 6 pts/$1 spent on Wanna Get Away fares, and they cost 60pts/$1 to redeem. The Anytime and Business Select fares cost more to redeem, but also earn more points when booked.

Regarding the new SW Visa choices, I see that with the SW RR Plus Visa has an annual fee of $69 and you only get 3000 anniversary points which is worth $50 at most (automatically lose $19 every year). The new SW PREMIER Visa has an annual fee of $99 but that is offset by the anniversary points of 6000 which is worth $100, and you get 30,000 bonus points (=$500) with your first purchase.

Where did you find information about the SW Premier Visa. I don't see it on their website and it does sound like a better deal.

Click on the ad for the 20,000 points offer and scroll to the bottom of the page to see the ads for the other two cards they have available.

I was wondering about this, too. Does anyone know?

I got my card Monday and used it the first time yesterday. Chase's people told me that I'll have exact one year from the day the 2 RT reward is posted to my RR account to use the reward.
So, suppose my billing cycle closes in 04/01 and the reward is posted 04/15, I'll have till 04/15/2012 to use the reward.
