2 For The Price of 1: One Trip Done; One More to Plan!

Cammie - Looks like y'all had fun at the concert, except for the screaming girls and the headache. I only have one child, male, 18, so I know nothing about the Jonas Brothers but they sure look like great talented kids.

Now exactly what is Mike's hard lemonade?????? (Of course that caught my attention).....;)

I would do the DDP in February. We always got the adult price money worth for both girls. I am still looking at the deluxe because Cassidy wants to do so much signature dining.

That's another reason I want to try the DDP in Feb. Like Alan mentioned, it gives your kids the opportunity to try new things. I'm so tired of seeing her eat nothing but chicken fingers, pasta, and mac & cheese while at Disney. And I think she is too!

Good news about the concert. Only 15 days until ours:thumbsup2 My DD doesn't like Demi either - mainly because she was Joe's interest in Camp Rock and now she is "doing moves like Joe when she sings and is wearing similar clothes".
I love the pictures - my DD had the same "Pooh" outfit as Amanda in the picture of them with Tigger.
Looking forward to morepopcorn::

Demi was unbearable! I honestly don't think she has a good voice; she came out during the Jonas Bros. show to sing that one song with Joe from Camp Rock. While the JoBros. had perfect harmony, I felt like she was just screeching!:headache:

And, I so miss dressing my girls in those cute little Disney outfits!:sad2:

Uh oh, we could be triplets separated at birth...Lauren(FormrCastMbr) & I are so much alike it freaks us out, now that you mention it the three of us are eerily alike...WDW look out when we meet up.....:dance3:

:dance3: = the three of us at the ESPN Zone; wait.......

here comes Ellen - :yay: !

Cammie, I am jumping on! Your PTR is wonderful so far. I am a substitute school teacher, and I am one of only about 15 in our county that will work in the special needs classes. The children in the special needs classes just warm my heart and they are my favorite classes to sub in, I look forward to subbing in them. They aren't the easiest classes but they are by far the most rewarding. Your DDs look as though they have a wonderful special bond. Can't wait to read more!!!!

Mary

Hi Mary and thanks for reading.

God bless you for your willingness to work with special needs. There is a real shortage of special needs teachers in our area - just doesn't seem to be a speciality that people are choosing these days. Amanda's program is on the Boston College campus so we get a lot of kids who are going for their Master's in special ed - which is great because they are young, enthusiastic, and up-to-date with all the latest. They just never stick around for very long because the pay just isn't competitive enough. Every year, it seems to be a struggle to fill open teaching positions.

Oh my goodness, you are too sweet! I will PM you, that will be very helpful!! Thank you! :goodvibes

Hopefully we will run into each other, I am going to keep watch for the LGMH's and train DH to as well. Though, not sure how much help he'll be considering he's color blind and legally blind! :rotfl:

So glad to hear the concert was a great time! I saw them for the first time ever on television the other day and didn't think they were all that bad. I can understand why teen girls are gaga over them. What special memories you have from it all with your daughter, and I bet she thinks you are the coolest Mom EVER for taking her! :thumbsup2

Got your PM; sent you one back. I'll hook ya up!:thumbsup2

Good luck with training your hubby though. Most stories I hear about husbands and meeting fellow DISers - they think we're all crazy and want nothing to do with it!

Now exactly what is Mike's hard lemonade?????? (Of course that caught my attention).....;)

I thought that would!;)

Mike's Hard Lemonade is described as a malt beverage; lighter than beer, with a little hint of citrus. It comes in a couple of different flavors: regular, lime, cranberry, and pomegranat. Cold. Hard. Refreshing. That's their slogan. I remember they used to sell them at MGM at the same kiosks that sold beer but don't remember seeing them the last time I was there.

Now, you've got another drink to try!

i think it's so cool that you took lauren to see the jonas brothers! i don't "get" them, but i don't have a pre-teen girl, so i don't expect to! i definitely plan on doing things like that with my kid(s) though. we saw lots of parents with their kids at the paramore concert back in may. i remember my first concert: 1983, lionel richie, the "all night long" tour. i was 7 years old and my mom took me. we both wore jordache jeans and pink oxford shirts. the pointer sisters opened for him and it was a really good show. i remember mom let me stand in my seat during "all night long" and dance! :goodvibes

Oh my goodness...what a cool mom you are!! You are truly building great memories and a special bond with your daughters that will last forever. My DD would love to see Hannah Montana, but with a musician for a dad, she had to "settle" for the Eagles!! :rotfl2: (Actually, both she and DS LOVE the Eagles - they loved the "Long Road Out Of Eden" c.d. and they can tell you every single track by number. They are truly MY kids!!) :hippie:

Glad you'll be doing the DDP for the Feb. trip. It is quite a luxury to not have to worry about paying for meals OOP. We loved it!

Hi, I dont know anything about the Jonas Brothers other than I saw them perform the other night on " so you think you can dance " ...they were ok if your a teenage girl I quess.....lol

btw Im late to this party an would like to join in :goodvibes:

Our house is all about the Jonas Bros.and Miley Cyrus right now!:lovestruc I actually don't mind them. I had also taken Lauren to see the Hannah concert last Dec. and I can honestly say it was one of the best times I ever had. For me, it's not necessarily about the music (I'm a Springsteen/The Police fan myself). I get so much enjoyment out of seeing my child enjoy something soooo much. I had so much fun watching her singing every song, dancing, jumping and screaming. It really brings me joy to see her so happy. So, if the Jonas Bros. and Hannah/Miley do that for my kids, they're A-OK in my book!:thumbsup2

As for my first concert - it was in 1977 - Andy Gibb! What I remember most is that I bought a fake diamond studded necklace that said "Andy Gibb" and wore it just about every day. So, I really have no business mocking my child's infatuation right now. Been there; done that!

Ok, Alan - I think you owe your daughter one, though. She went to YOUR Eagles concert; you need to take her to the artist of her choice concert. It's a sacrifice every parent is expected to make at least once!

First of all, you know what I say? Better late than never! Welcome to the party and glad you're joining in!

As for the Jonas Bros., don't judge them exclusively by their appearance on SYTYCD - I heard that weren't that good. My daughter and her friends think they're the greatest thing since sliced bread; but I think that opinion is based 90% on looks and 10% on singing! I don't think they're all that bad.

Cassidy says thank you for the Jo Bros pics:goodvibes The Jo Bros didn't sing very well on So You Think...they are decent singers (actually better than most Disney Channel "singers")

My first concert was Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and Air Supply.....I am a geek:goodvibes We saw NGDB this summer still good!!The girls first concert (that they remember) was Jump5. We got to sit by the kids aunt...that was cool!!:thumbsup2

Thanks for the warm welcome....your girls could have pick much worse than the JB's and their songs are much better than I hear comming out of my 17 yo room....lol

Thanks for the welcome to the thread, I've been enjoying it very much. I have a 11 almost 12 y/o and I think she and your DD are probably very much alike. Mine starts middle school this year and the Jonas Bros. are all that she and her friends talk about. My younger DD is also in these guys. We have tickets for the concert on 8/19, I got them for younger DDs birthday on the 17th. The four of us are going, its in Virginia Beach Outdoor Ampitheatre, we are all looking forward to it, I think!!!

Hey Cammie! Just realized you had a PTR going. I was a lurker on your last one, at least I don't think I posted. It was a fabulous TR and made me think of all the things I've done with just my Mom that are always very special. I'm the only girl out of 4 kids so we've had a lot of those moments! It's nice that you'll be able to carry on that tradition. As for airlines, we are flying JetBlue in just a few weeks to the world so I will let you know how it goes. We have non-stop flights out of Portland, ME. I have heard nothing but great things from people who have flown on them before. Also, last year we flew out of Manchester, NH and had no issues. I forget which airline it was. Either American Airlines, or Continental. Anyways, there's also a website called farecast.com which helps you figure out which times and days will be cheaper, and for some hubs they can forecast when the best time to purchase tickets will be. Don't worry as tickets always go down the closer you get to leaving. I love the past pictures of your girls. They are so cute! I might have to dig some of ours out when I start a TR. Can't wait to hear more about your plans!

~Beka~

Hi Cammie,

It looks like you had a great time at the concert! The Jonas Bros. remind me of my first concert-New Kids on the Block. :lmao: The audience was like 98%
screaming pre-teen girls. BTW, loved the pics of your girls-they look so cute all dressed up in their Disney outfits. DH laughs because I still pull out the mickey ears hats and matching t-shirts for every trip. Disney World is the only place my DS12 will ever be caught in an outfit like that! :)

Tell Cassidy she's welcome!:goodvibes I do think they can sing - they sounded pretty good in concert; much better than that Demi Lovato!

And - Air Supply?:scared1: Yes, Theresa, you are a geek!;)

Thanks for the warm welcome....your girls could have pick much worse than the JB's and their songs are much better than I hear comming out of my 17 yo room....lol

Ya got that right!:thumbsup2 That's why I have no problem letting the girls play their CD over and over again in the car; I don't want to have to turn on the radio and let them hear what everyone else may be listening to!

Oh Mary - you'll have fun - if only for the fact that your children are enjoying it so much! Just be prepared for the screaming! Oh the screaming!

Funny story: at one point during the concert, Nick talks about dealing with diabetes - and he wrote a song about it. Before he starts the song, they show a short video of him at the doctor's and everything he has to do to monitor his blood sugar levels. The kid has an insulin pump attached to his back - and they show this on the video. Well, all the girls start screaming because he has to lift up his shirt. The poor kid was probably trying to do a PSA and his audience is squealing at seeing his bare back. Think it all went right over their heads!:sad2:

Hi Beka! Thanks for coming on board! I now hear JetBlue probably won't come out with fares until 5 months out now; Delta's prices are just way too high right now, so I'm sitting tight!

And, I feel I need to warn you: after noticing your avatar, I just want you to know that you are now posting on the pre-trippie of a DIE-HARD Yankee fan!

My girls are the same way! I'll show Lauren a cute t-shirt from Disneyshopping and ask her if she'd wear it; she says, "Of course, but only at Disney!" :headache:

And -- New Kids on the Block? Have you gotten tickets for the reunion tour?

That's okay. They won't even make it close to the playoffs the way it's going! Sorry, had to comment. And how can you be a Yankee's fan when you live in MA??? Isn't it against the law??? :rotfl2:
