2 For The Price of 1: One Trip Done; One More to Plan!

Actually, Lauren (my DD) told me should she's so happy to be there with just me, she'd be content with just walking around the parks, if that's all we could do!:lovestruc

When we go to DL we sometimes do just that and 1 or 2 rides and my boys are content to just be there, and they are 3 and 5!!! Actually it's DH and mine favorite thing to do, just go and soak up the atmosphere. When we went in June the last day before our summer blackout we got there at 8 pm, saw fireworks, Fantasmic, and did POC, and everyone was happy.

Hi Cammie! :wave2:

When you go on your November trip, will you be on the dining plan? or do you usually pay out of pocket for meals?

Alan

Cammie-

Since we have some time before your trip(s)....can you tell us a little more about you girls??? Like everybody's favorites?? I have ideas what they may be but I gotta know....not that I am a stalker or anything...just curious.

I also forgot to ask how the musical went for your oldest DD.

Band camp started yesterday for oldest and I started the feeding of the band tonight...good golly I am tired!!!

Hi Cammie - just catching up tonight! I love your TR - but where are those pictures at??? HUUUUUMMMM??? I mean it isn't like you are doing anything else! :rotfl:

Hello there!
Just found your PTR tonight, we are going to be at WDW at the same time! So far it looks like our paths probably won't cross, but I'll kep my eyes open for ya and say HELLO if I do see you! :goodvibes

Looking forward to more....popcorn::

Hi Cammy,
I read your post trip report thought it was great. OMG your daughter is so sweet. I have 2 boys  whom I love very much. But you are so lucky to have those amazing daughter moments I wish I could have. :cutie:

This is why I wish I lived closer to WDW. I really think my DDs and I would just drive over to a park every day and experience the magic around us! With the biggest smiles on our faces, of course!:goodvibes

Hey Alan! I've never done the dining plan. It wasn't always available for DVC members; once it was, Lauren was considered an adult and I didn't think she would eat that much. I'm now rethinking that theory though!

I definitely won't do the plan for our Nov. trip. One of Amanda's nurses may be joining us for the last weekend to help me with the trip home. I want to put her on the room reservation so she can take advantage of EMHs with us, but then that means I'll have to pay for the dining plan for her for the whole week. I am thinking of doing it for my trip in February with just Lauren though; figure it's a shorter one and it would be a good time to try it out.

I do have the DDE card though - so I get 20% off my TS meals.

First of all - you're feeding the WHOLE band?:scared1: How did you get sucked into doing that?

As for my girls, they are truly complete Disney freaks - I've been shoving it down their throats since they were infants, so they really didn't have any choice! Lion King came out the year Amanda was born, so that's a sentimental favorite for her. She also loves "Finding Nemo" - the colors in that movie are so vibrant - it really holds her attention. Her favorite princess is Snow White and we also love Dopey!

Of course, being 14, Amanda shares the same interest in music as her sister Lauren. They both love Hannah Montana and the Jonas Brothers. Lauren's favorite princess has always been Jasmine, and therefore one of her favorite Disney movies is "Aladdin". She is finding an appreciation for the classics lately - really enjoys "Alice in Wonderland" and "Sleeping Beauty". She also still really, really likes playing with her Barbies. It's sad though - she has only one friend - her very best friend - that will still play. She keeps her interest in Barbies hidden from most of her other friends. She's afraid her friends won't think it's cool. Middle school!:sad2:

Speaking of the Jonas Bros. - I'm taking Lauren to see them tomorrow night. She's so excited; lord help me! I survived the Hannah Montana concert though, and actually enjoyed myself; so I'm sure this won't be too bad either!

Well........maybe if I stopped getting 30,000 private messages a day, I would have time to do other things!:rolleyes1 (they're coming!)

Definitely keep your eyes open for us - we're not too hard to miss; pushing a kid in a wheelchair helps us stand out more!;) Seriously, if you see us, don't be shy! And I see you're staying at the WL - you'll love it there!

Thanks for the kind words!:lovestruc

I'm sure you can create those amazing moments with your boys. You know how it is at Disney - you can't help BUT have magical moments!

Tell Lauren that I played with my Barbies and Dolls until I was at least a Freshmen in High School. I had one friend that would play with me and some of my favorite memories of friends growing up are those moments. :goodvibes

OT - Please let me know how the concert goes. I guess Demi Lovato is touring with them. We are going to the Columbus concert on the 23rd so my DD-10 would love to know any info. For example - she is wondering if Big Rob (the bodyguard) will actually get on stage and sing his part that he does in the Burning Up video. BTW - I love that video - it is so funny the way they spoof the older shows.
TIA:thumbsup2

I actually volunteered to be the chair...after last night I am rethinking it....not because of the kids or the food (it's not as daunting as it sounds) but the other parents:scared1: .

Cassidy is with your girls on the Jonas Brothers...they were here while she was on her mission trip. She was majorly disappointed.(I am making up for it a bit next weekend when Drake Bell is in concert) She is unafraid to be a Disney loving High Schooler:goodvibes . One of her best friends has also asked her parents (the band director) if she can have a trip to Disney World for her graduation present too. Yes, I've corrupted them enough that they are now corrupting others for me.

Abi still collects Littlest Pet Shop (she was never into Barbies) and she also only has her best friend to play with. I was just happy she actually wanted something a couple of Christmases ago that we MAY have gone a bit overboard on them.

Have fun at the Jonas Brothers concert!!:flower3:

Will do!:thumbsup2

That's why I'm glad Lauren has her best friend that will still play. And boy, do they play! They'll go down into my basement (which is Barbie city) and play for HOURS! But for the two of them, it's like their "dirty little secret".

Not only will I give you a review of the concert, I may post pix - if I get some good ones.

I forgot Demi was the opening act - Lauren does not like her or her singing voice! Want to know why? Because Demi is friends w/Selena Gomez; Lauren doesn't like Selena because she's going out with Nick now and Lauren really thinks Nick should still be going out with Miley! Oh - the drama!

And Big Rob better get up on stage - he has a big part in that song! And he'll be right there!!!

Cassidy played with dolls and Littlest Pet Shop when asked by her sister until last summer. No harm in playing with dolls...as long as you aren't melting them in the microwave!!:lmao:

So I know I promised to post some pictures from our previous Disney trips, I just hope I don't bore you too much. They're scanned pictures so the quality may not be the best; but I just picked out a few of my favorites from each trip.

The audience participation did not end there. The next day at AK, during the Lion King show, one of the dancers came over to Amanda and Lauren. She was so sweet - she helped Amanda shake the instruments; and she was not shy about getting her out there!

I can't even describe to all of you how wonderful it was to be there and how truly touching it was to see how all of the CMs - from the characters to the staff at the parks, restaurants, & hotels - treated my daughter! I knew that this was going to be the first of many, many more trips to this magical place! (cue the sappy music.....).

Here are just a few more shots from that trip:

Alright, I got a bit weepy reading that. That is just one of the reasons why I love Disney so much. :goodvibes

Have any of you guys flown JetBlue before? I'm anxiously waiting for them to release their fares for Feb. and thought they would do it six months in advance. As of this morning - nothing! I don't feel like my Feb. trip is real until I book my airfare. I know, I'm weird that way; but I figure once I buy those non-refundable tix, there's no turning back!

I usually fly Delta and get good deals with them as long as I book way in advance. I purchased our tix for our Nov. trip this past Jan. and only paid $237 a ticket! The same flight today is costing over $700; and that's the same price I'm finding for airfare in Feb. with them. Good grief - I think it would be financially irresponsible of me to pay $1500 for two tickets to Florida!:scared1: (not saying I wouldn't do it; just don't think it would be responsible!;) )

So if I rule out Delta, that leaves AirTran or JetBlue out of Boston. I refuse to book AirTran because they seem to be in the nasty habit lately of cancelling their non-stop flights. I could also look at SWA out of Providence, which is what we flew in June. We had a very pleasant experience; although I must admit I don't like not having pre-assigned seats. But Providence is not as close as Boston to us; and I'm thinking, in Feb., with weather being unpredictable, I'd rather be flying out of the airport closest to my home.

So, this is where I'm at.......I sit......and I wait for JetBlue!:surfweb:

Oh, and one other question, does anyone know for sure that the ADR policy has officially changed? You can now only book at 90 days, not 180? If so, then I have some time still to make my plans for Feb.

I hope to scan some old pictures of the girls and I from previous trips to Disney that I will then post and share with you all. I figure we have alot of time to kill before my Nov. trip, so why not go through some old photos?

I ONLY fly Jetblue out of Boston (havent read on to see what you have decided lol) . I alwasy get good fares--usually $89-$99 each way. ALWAYS direct...and free DUNKIN coffee o the plane and free snacks...CANT BEAT THAT :)

Cammie - I can't keep up w/you girls! I finally got caught up on this. Your pictures of the girls are wonderful!

Meg will still plays w/Barbies w/Tay when the girls are at my mom's, and occasionally, with their American Girl dolls at home. She would kill me if I told anyone. My brother asks me if I worry about it, but I don't! I'd rather see her doing that than the other stuff I know that 15 yr olds do! She is a little immature for her age, but part of that is me - I will not let her grow up too fast. It happens soon enough, IMO!
