2 For The Price of 1: One Trip Done; One More to Plan!

Cammie, those pictures have me teary-eyed. I can't imagine the joy you must have felt. Only Disney.......

Alright, I got a bit weepy reading that. That is just one of the reasons why I love Disney so much. :goodvibes

I am so glad I wasn't the only one. :goodvibes

Now I didn't mean to make anyone cry! But, the magic of Disney can do that to you! :pixiedust:

I ONLY fly Jetblue out of Boston (havent read on to see what you have decided lol) . I alwasy get good fares--usually $89-$99 each way. ALWAYS direct...and free DUNKIN coffee o the plane and free snacks...CANT BEAT THAT :)

I've heard of the DirecTV programs, bigger seats but..........FREE DUNKIN DONUTS COFFEE??????:woohoo: That I had not heard of and am now more determined to fly them in Feb!

Thanks for your feedback, Miss Michelle! I faithfully check their website everyday and they still have not released fares for after 1/31/09. I really do want to give them a try so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the fares aren't too bad.

I love the pictures of your daughters holding hands. So precious:love:

Lauren is very loving with Amanda - has been ever since she was young. It is very sweet and I'm very lucky!

Cammie - I can't keep up w/you girls! I finally got caught up on this. Your pictures of the girls are wonderful!

Meg will still plays w/Barbies w/Tay when the girls are at my mom's, and occasionally, with their American Girl dolls at home. She would kill me if I told anyone. My brother asks me if I worry about it, but I don't! I'd rather see her doing that than the other stuff I know that 15 yr olds do! She is a little immature for her age, but part of that is me - I will not let her grow up too fast. It happens soon enough, IMO!

Lauren has kind of fazed out the American Girl stuff; but will still ask for a new Barbie or Barbie outfit for Christmas. I honestly don't think she needs anymore, but if that's what it takes to get her to continue to play with dolls, then I'll get it. And I don't worry about it at all. She goes over some friend's house and all they do is play on the computer or text their friends; at least, when she's playing Barbies, she's using her imagination!:thumbsup2

Oh my - I've got another weeper!

But to be honest, I tear-up a bunch of times during our vacations at Disney. Someone there is always doing something extra special that gets to me! Heck, just seeing Amanda's eyes brighten up while watching Illuminations makes me cry!:lovestruc

:wave2: I'm another NJ lurker. Actually I love reading trip reports, I never posted on one before though.

I'm sorry - I missed your post that crept in before my last long installment. I don't want to be dissing my fellow jersey buds! I'm honored that you chose my report to be your "first".:)

Cassidy played with dolls and Littlest Pet Shop when asked by her sister until last summer. No harm in playing with dolls...as long as you aren't melting them in the microwave!!:lmao:

I used to cut all their hair off!:rotfl:

I'm a weeper for sure. I weep the first time I see the castle, I weep during all of the fireworks shows and parades. And then I weep the entire last day....I'm a mess according to DH & DS....:sad2:

I used to cut all their hair off!:rotfl:

I drew MUSTACHES on all of mine- in indelible ink, no less- I was playing circus, and they were the clowns!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: P***** my mother off in a BIG way!!:lmao: :lmao:

Thanks for posting that, it broke my tears. The first WDW trip we had with Sean was similar- and all the ones after- they always try to make it just right for him, including Cinderella asking him to dance at the very 1st parade when he was 3, and when we said, don't know if he will, they let him run all over the place "in" their parade- he was so happy, and it was so magical, and I think it's a big part of why we love Disney soooooo much! :cloud9:

LOVE THE PICS, GIRLFRIEND!!!!!:thumbsup2

I love Disney that they include EVERYBODY in the magic. I have actually only been to Disney twice...the second time was last year. Forgive me a little story.

We were in the World Showcase and saw Belle and the Beast signing autographs. So we go to get in line and the handler said they'd be back in 15 minutes. We waited around the 15 minutes and were first to see them:woohoo: (Handler shooed off a group of about 15 teeny boppers). I got about 10 minutes uninterrupted "play" time with Belle and the Beast, even though there was a line they acted like we were the only ones. I was in heaven. :cloud9:

and after I typed that out I realized I am probably a bit nuts...and maybe they caught on to that??:rotfl:

extra credit: Betcha can't guess what my favorite movie/characters are??:confused3 :lmao:

Definitely keep your eyes open for us - we're not too hard to miss; pushing a kid in a wheelchair helps us stand out more!;) Seriously, if you see us, don't be shy! And I see you're staying at the WL - you'll love it there!

I'm really excited about staying at the WL, I was only their briefly on our Honeymoon in 2006 for dinner. To actually soak in the lodge will be a whole new experience.

I won't be shy if I see you! I am going to try to pick up a lime green Mickey head for my black shoulder bag...my small town doesn't have a Home Depot, closest one is an hour away, but we make it there fairly often, I just have to remember to go get one! Unfortunatly, we probably won't be that easy to spot-woman, man, baby in red stroller, our t-shirts will go together if that helps! :confused3  So, if you happen to spot me, you don't be shy either! :goodvibes

Alright, I got a bit weepy reading that. That is just one of the reasons why I love Disney so much. :goodvibes

Oh my - I've got another weeper!

And...you've got another! I'm sitting here teary eyed. I just love the way Disney takes care of their guests. That is the main reason my DH loves it-the very polished service that makes everyone feel special. :wizard:

I used to cut all their hair off!:rotfl:

Cammie - I'm with you - I would have been hook line & sinker too! :goodvibes

I LOVE the one of your bathing beauties! They are so stinking cute!

And for the dolls - at least you didn't wash their hair and back them up to a wall heater to dry their hair like they do in the salon :rolleyes1 I can still remember that smell when I think about it!:lmao:

Hey Alan! I've never done the dining plan. It wasn't always available for DVC members; once it was, Lauren was considered an adult and I didn't think she would eat that much. I'm now rethinking that theory though!

I definitely won't do the plan for our Nov. trip. One of Amanda's nurses may be joining us for the last weekend to help me with the trip home. I want to put her on the room reservation so she can take advantage of EMHs with us, but then that means I'll have to pay for the dining plan for her for the whole week. I am thinking of doing it for my trip in February with just Lauren though; figure it's a shorter one and it would be a good time to try it out.

I do have the DDE card though - so I get 20% off my TS meals.

I totally understand why the dining plan would not be feasible for the November trip, but I would definitely encourage you to think about doing it for the Feb trip with Lauren. Just imagine if she had her pick of ANYTHING from the menu! Even if she is a picky eater, she might get a kick out of trying some new things....my DS certainly did! (and he's usually a chicken fingers and pasta kid.) DS was excited to try lobster for the first time....and he loved it!

How very nice of you to include Amanda's nurse on your room ressie for the November trip! :goodvibes Good for you! :thumbsup2 I'm sure she will be a big helpto you, and I'll bet Amanda will enjoy her being there as well. I was very impressed at how well Lauren handled late EMH....does Amanda do okay with them also?

Your trip report has really given me a lot to think about in terms of doing the late EMH. I am a night person anyway...so for me it would be ideal. My DW and DD, however, might struggle. Ideally, I would like to be at rope drop every morning, ride the rides until lunchtime, go back and rest for the afternoon, then enjoy a nice dinner and a park for EMH! Sounds like a perfect plan!

Hi guys! I'll respond to posts later this evening; just wanted to check in quickly to let you know that Lauren and I really enjoyed the Jonas Bros. concert last night (yes, I mean that!). Hopefully some of my pix came out and I'll post them and give a quick review.

Stay tuned!

Cammie, I'm loving all the old pics of the girls! Lauren is just too sweet to her big sister, even when they were both little things! You've obviously done a great job with them! :thumbsup2

Kathy - I'm finding you and I are scarily alike! I get teary over everything at WDW!

LOVE THE PICS, GIRLFRIEND!!!!!:thumbsup2

This is why I just LOVE Disney. Friends ask me all the time why I go back there year after year - they just can't possibly understand!

Ditto, Ditto, Ditto, Ditto...;)

You too?

I won't be shy if I see you! If you can't get any LGMH, just let me know. I have a Home Depot right down the road; and actually I still have a huge supply left over from when I last went - I can definitely send you some. Seriously, it would be no big deal to just drop them in the mail. If you need them, just pm me your address and I'd be glad to do it.

I had my eyes open our whole trip this past June and did not spot one LGMH - and I had mine prominently displayed on my bag. I look forward to bumping into a fellow DISer eventually.

Cammie - I'm with you - I would have been hook line & sinker too! :goodvibes

:goodvibes

I think I'm definitely going to try the DDP for my trip in Feb. I'm anxious to try it and this is a short trip, so it's the perfect time.

Yes, I'm glad Amanda's nurse will hopefully make it. I've always been resistant to bringing "outside" people to my Disney trip - I like it to be just family. But the reality is I could really use the help; and this nurse is close to my age and we've become very good friends - so it wouldn't feel like she's a nurse; just a good friend helping out.

As for the PM EMHs - we always do those. My girls and I are not early risers; but we can stay out late with the best of them. Lauren can keep going all night if she had too; Amanda usually poops out by 11pm and then I'm hesitant to drag her on rides, but we still manage to get alot done. And I find, with the PM EMHs, the crowds really start to dwindle after 10 or 11, so you can usually get another hour or two of low crowds.:thumbsup2

Lauren has been a sweetheart to Amanda since she was a baby. I don't know if it has anything to do with me though. I've just always made sure they were together and that "sisterly" love just took over.

I would do the DDP in February. We always got the adult price money worth for both girls. I am still looking at the deluxe because Cassidy wants to do so much signature dining.

I love kids who have that sisterly love....it's like they have their own language.:lovestruc My sister and I fought horribly as kids. :guilty:

Good news about the concert. Only 15 days until ours:thumbsup2 My DD doesn't like Demi either - mainly because she was Joe's interest in Camp Rock and now she is "doing moves like Joe when she sings and is wearing similar clothes".
I love the pictures - my DD had the same "Pooh" outfit as Amanda in the picture of them with Tigger.
Looking forward to morepopcorn::

Kathy - I'm finding you and I are scarily alike!

Uh oh, we could be triplets separated at birth...Lauren(FormrCastMbr) & I are so much alike it freaks us out, now that you mention it the three of us are eerily alike...WDW look out when we meet up.....:dance3:

Cammie, I am jumping on! Your PTR is wonderful so far. I am a substitute school teacher, and I am one of only about 15 in our county that will work in the special needs classes. The children in the special needs classes just warm my heart and they are my favorite classes to sub in, I look forward to subbing in them. They aren't the easiest classes but they are by far the most rewarding. Your DDs look as though they have a wonderful special bond. Can't wait to read more!!!!

Ok, so for those of you who may not be parents to young girls, the following installment may not float your boat. For this, I apologize. But, the Jonas Brothers are a huge presence in our household, so I feel they do warrant a post in this pre-trip report. As Lauren says, "Nick is my life and I love him soooo much!" Oh brother!

So the concert was last night, Thurs. at 7pm. Doesn't it figure that at about 1pm, huge thunderstorms roll into our area. Did I mention that it was an outdoor concert? And the ticket says the show goes on "Rain or Shine" - essentially because the stage and the VIP seats are covered; the rest of us poor schmoes - they don't really care about. By 3pm, we were getting tornado warnings for the southern part of the state (which is where the concert was) So I had resigned myself to the fact that we were going to have deal with what ever the weather dealt us.

I packed us a little picnic feast: sandwiches, pasta salad, chips, dip, and choc. chip cookies. I figured I would get there early, park, tailgate and enjoy the atmosphere. Surprisingly, we made it down to the concert venue in record time and we were happy to see that most of the rain, thunder, and lightning had rolled out of the area. It was still drizzling, so our tailgating was limited to the pack of our LandRover:

Yes, I'm enjoying a Mike's Hard Lemonade in that cup - I had a long night of screaming girls ahead of me; I think I needed it!

We hung out in the parking lot for about an hour and a half then headed into the concert. We found our way to our seats; they weren't that bad - at least they were in the center; but still not as good as our Hannah concert seats......

No, that row didn't stay that empty for too long!

There were these giant screens throughout the stadium that you could text messages too and they would show up on the screen. We saw alot of professions of love for each Jonas Bros.; but the funniest ones were the ones that said "If you love the Jonas Bros., do this.........." For example:

Believe it or not, most of the crowd would follow the demands of the message boards. Silly girls!

By 7:15, Demi Lovato, the opening act, came on and, man, was she awful! Listen, I don't really mind much of the music my daughter listens too; but this girl could just not sing, IMO. She just screamed! Lauren didn't enjoy her either; didn't seem like most of the crowd did either - alot of people were sitting. No one knew her songs and were just anxious for the JoBros. to start.

Demi stayed on for about 40 minutes (20 minutes too long, IMO!) and, by 8:55, the main attraction came out. Now, sorry for the photos - they're not very clear. I took pix of the stage but also quite a few of the big screens to get some up close shots......

All in all, the JoBros. did not disappoint. I have to say I really enjoyed them; and it's always fun to be a part of something your child is really in to. Suprisingly, they played for close to two hours; and, yes, 4forWDW, Big Rob did come out for his part of "Burning Up" - in khaki shorts and tennis sneakers. I swear, I think he got screams as loud as the screams for the Jonas Bros. I wish I had gotten pictures but, by that time, my battery had died on my camera. Burning Up was the last song, and then they came out for two encores, with the last song being "SOS".

By the end of the night, Lauren had no voice and I had a splitting headache! Not from the music - just from the constant screaming!:headache: Regardless, I'm glad we went and I really liked the sound of their new CD. Dare I say, I'm looking forward to it's release on the 12th? :hyper:

Oh my goodness, you are too sweet! I will PM you, that will be very helpful!! Thank you! :goodvibes

Hopefully we will run into each other, I am going to keep watch for the LGMH's and train DH to as well. Though, not sure how much help he'll be considering he's color blind and legally blind! :rotfl:

So glad to hear the concert was a great time! I saw them for the first time ever on television the other day and didn't think they were all that bad. I can understand why teen girls are gaga over them. What special memories you have from it all with your daughter, and I bet she thinks you are the coolest Mom EVER for taking her! :thumbsup2
