Please help me get this straight- i got an email that is strictly 40% off the room rates during certain dates but i have read a couple posts on here that people got 40% off entire packages- is this right? And also, where does the code for the 40% off the entire packages come from, an actual postcard via snail mail- anyone know?

I don't know if there is a 40% off of entire package. Our deal last year was 40% off the room rate.

Is there a way to get on some type of mailing list for this type of code? We have been 5 times in the last 3 years so if I'm not on some type of "good" list I need to find out how to get there :)

it is 40% off room only or 40% room in package...in other words you can still get a package but the 40% is only on the room part, you still pay for dining and tickets at full price, but I am fl res so I am going to upgrade my 1 day ticket when i get there to a 3 day fl res ticket for 45.00...there are ways to still get a discount just by upgrading after you get there.

I also recieved a 40% off a deluxe room rate only,(via email) i made a few calls to disney and spoke to 3 seperate cm's and managed to get a better package each time i called. I couldn' afford a deluxe resort but wanted to see what we could do..
i managed to get port orleans with park hopper and base dining for 2450.00 for three adults:flower3: . i was pretty impressed. I think if you are persistent yet gentle in your requests with a little luck and kind Cast Members you can get a decent deal. you just have to be a little flexible is all

Bumping because i am convinced there are 2 different codes out there- i have seen in at least 3 other threads about people getting 40% off the whole package but when someone asks them about it there is no response from them...:confused3

I dont know.. I have called a total of 12 times to question package rates and said that I know of people getting 40% off the package and every single time, they say there is NO code with 40% off the package. JUST ROOM ONLY! (well the DDP and tickets can be added on w/ no discount)So not sure what is going on

:confused3 Maybe someone can answer a question for me... If I call up and there is a 40% code on my ressie... and I get it ... Then a code for using Disney Visa comes out... will I get that ontop of the 40% discount? Wouldn't that be great!!!!:cool2: :cheer2:

The sheer fact that you are able to get the Dining plan and tickets with a 40% off the room is a great deal. Usually to even buy the DDP and tickets you have to pay full price for the room. I would appreciate it if someone would PM me the code.

IF there is a package that allows 40% off of the entire package that would be one GREAT deal!!

I was just wondering if anyone knows if you can apply the 40% off code for room only to a reservation and still get the dining plan. When I called to make my reservations the CM wouldn't let me get 40% off the room and get the dining plan. He told me it had to be either the 40% off the room or the dining plan. Is this right, or should I call back and talk to another CM?

There is no genral code to share- my email had a 15 digit number and the email my sister got had a different 15 digit number- i called up and that number was attached to my name- so sorry, but nothing to share here

Unfortunately you'd have to choose between them. Disney doesn't allow for discounts to be combined. So unless the Disney Visa code was better than 40% off the room, i'd stick with the 40% off code.

I am curious also. How do you get on mailing lists for codes?

I am signed up for Disney Destinations newsletter, and that is who emailed my code to me. I know I found it on the website somewhere... but since that was 2 website revamps ago... I can't tell you where!

Here's how I got the code - I set up a new profile on disney.com, requested the dvd planning video said I hadn't been there in 2 years and was planning a trip in 2008 and 1 week later the 40% code shows up in my email

When you say that you set up a new profile on Disney.com, where do you go to do that?

Thanks!

We got the postcard in the mail with the discount 40% the other day. This is the first time we have ever received a code at all and we have been to WDW 4 times. All the times before the trips have been booked in my name, but last time it was booked in DH's name and the postcard was mailed to him.

I have no idea why now and never before, maybe it's a random thing or maybe it's because on our last trip we stayed offsite, booked in DH's name and now they want us back on disney property to stay next time? Just a thought!:)

We're not supposed to be going at all to WDW this year, too much stuff to do on the house but this postcard got the bug going again...we will probably cave in and if we do, the first week of December is going to be it, never been there for the decorations or lights before!

Jumping in on the post... I dont know if this would be the same as what the pp did but by registering a new name at Disney.com or just by ordering a vacationing dvd... Just go to www.disney.com then click on the travel icon; u can register on the site or go to where it says order 2008 dvd...

This is how my sister received the code as well. :) Hope this helped.

I hope that I'll get a postcard soon. Only have gotten 1 in the past and I couldn't use it!!
