We're taking a quick 4 day trip to the Orlando area this weekend, staying at a resort near Cococa Beach. We're planning to take one day to spend at a Disney park(s). We have Hopper Passes from a previous trip with days left, and plan to split the day between Epcot and Magic Kingdom, however our dilemma is that we are 1 pass short for our group!! We'd prefer at this point not to buy 2, 1 day passes at each park. A 1 Day Hopper pass would be ideal, but I know those don't exist.

However, I was over on the "Budget" board, and saw a post about 2 Day Hopper passes from Central Florida Tickets and Travel. Pursuing that link, I found another link back to a Disney site for DisneyMeetingandConventionTickets:

http://disneymeetings.disney.go.com/disneyworldmeetings/ticketpages/generalTicketGating

Browsing this site, I seemed to be able to purchase, a 2 Day Park Hopper pass for $104. Reason I say "seemed to be able" is that it appears this site is for folks attending meetings or conventions in the Orlando area, but no where in the purchase string did it ask for "proof", in fact would even allow the tickets to be let at "Will Call", where is Will Call at anyhow? Others over on the budget board suggested no one is ever asked for convention or meeting ID at the park gates as "proof" of attending one or the other.

So my question is would I be risking $104 dollars to purchase the 2 day hopper pass from this site? I mean, what the wonderful folks from Disney prevent me from using my pass one I bought it?

Input would be greatly appreciated!!

Great question. I've been wondering the same thing. I'm afraid to purchase the convention tickets and not be able to use them. Any info or experiences would be appreciated.

I'm in the same dilemna. Great price but what about the risk. Can't wait to here some input on this subject. What about buying a 2 day/ 2 park ticket. Have read that they are available for about $111 (taxes included) but can't be bought ahead of time (only at WDW park ticket counters). These are not convention type tickets so I will probably fell more comfortable buying these for our December trip.

I purchased and used convention ticket when I went to Disney in July. I had no problem with the ticket and no one ever asked me any questions about the ticket. I did go to a convention and I assumed that they would verify if my name was on the register list at the conference. But before selling a ticket they will ask for the convention name and date.

I have no idea how that would work if you weren't actually attending a conference that offered the discounted passes. The only experience I have is getting tickets through the website of the conference itself, not straight from the Disney site.

If you follow the link in my original post, it will take you through the "convention" buyers links. It will ask Dates, where you are staying, Disney resort or "other", as is my case, group name (I made one up, it did not care), and then goes to the page to pick the pass you want, 2,4,5 Day Hopper etc. and the quantity. I went all they way through up to the payment part. The appearance is there is no real check at least from this site to verify attendance at a conference!!

Have decided to wait until we are at WDW to purchase the 2 day/2 park ticket . I think they cost about $111 (inc. tax) each. Will be touring Dec 21 and Dec 22. Was wondering if we can purchase the tickets on Dec. 20 (we will be arriving in lake Buena Vista that day and will have a lot of free time). If so, where could I buy these tickets? I'm thinking maybe TTC or entrance to MK?? If I am right, can I then take the kids on the monorail also? I would feel bad to go and buy the tickets on the 20th and not be able to feel any of the Disney Magic until the 21st. This would be a great opportunity to experience a little Disney (on the 20th on the monorail) before we go AK on the 21st.
BTW staying off-site.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Those 2 day/2 park tix, do they have to be used on 2 different days, or could you say, use them both on the same day, at 2 different parks?

I thought they were for 1 park on each day, and you have to buy a park hopper (4 days min.) to go to more than 1 park on the same day. You can buy a 3 day park hopper from Alamo if you rent a car through them.

You can either buy a 4 day park hopper and use the extra days on a later trip. They NEVER expire. Or you can try your luck on e-bay. People have bought partially used park hoppers on there, but there's no way to guarantee that the tickets are any good until you get to Disney.

Before you buy any tickets listed for conventions/groups/sporting events, be sure you know about the expiration date and the other restrictions on their use. I copied the following from one of GoldenOldie's recent posts on convention tickets:

Convention and specialty tickets like ones for sporting events come in either of three ways depending on the event.

Type one have a date that the entire ticket must be used by such as "expires on December 31, 2004". After that, the ticket is no good.

Type two has a disclaimer that the ticket "expires 10 days from first use". This allows you to holf the ticket for one future use (doesn't need to be used by the end of 2004 for example) but will expire 10 days after you use the first admission.

Type three has a set range of dates (usually for sporting events) that the ticket is valid such as 7 days prior and 7 days following the event.

Best wishes -

I honestly don't think they'll request proof of a convention. However, to play it safe when buying your tix, look at the Orlando Convention Center website and find a convention going on during the time you're visiting.

http://www.orlandoconvention.com/Monthly.asp

I noticed the Central Florida International Auto Show will be going on for a month during Thanksgiving and Xmas (11/24-12/28). How could Disney ask for proof of attendance on that? You could be an exhibitor, a worker for one of the exhibitors, an attendee, you name it.

I do think it's wise to put in a valid convention name when ordering tix just in case names are reviewed by someone on the website. It may not affect your order, but it might affect how Disney handles convention tix in the future.

Just did this last week actually. My wife and I go to Disney for a few days most years and just buy 7 day hopper tickets until they're gone. But now we have no park days left and about 4 pluses each. Didn't want to buy 7 day passes now because we don't need all the pluses yet and right now I'm on a tighter budget. So . . . we ordered convention tickets (if you google "disney" "convention" and then the month and year you're planning your trip for you're bound to find a convention that is there when you're going so you can put something in the box when it asks what convention. This way we have 2 day passes for our trip (which we're planning on doing 2 park days plus MNSSHP) - can get rid of a few of our extra pluses before buying new ones, saved money this year and - the 2 day passes include one PI or DQ - we wouldn't normally pay for DQ but would love to have it as a plus option.

They came in the mail a few days ago and look like any other Disney ticket. The only thing as people have mentioned is they expire 10 days after first use and must be used by 12/31/04 (both of which are fine for us).

That being said - if you do go to Disney often - you'll still find the 7 day pass is a greater value overall.

Oh my, How did I miss this thread yesterday? So many questions in one thread. Let me try to wade through the unanswered ones.

puckdad: First off, ou would not be "risking $104". Even if you have a pass that Disney deems you not entitled to use (example: a Florida resident pass and you're not a Florida resident), you do not lose your money. Your absolute worst case scenario is that Disney will apply the amount you paid for the ticket towards your purchase of one that you are entitled to be using.

They will not ask you for proof of anything when you use those tickets at the gate. Will call is at the Guest Relations window at any of the four theme parks or at the two DTD locations.

2 day/2 park tickets are designed to be used on separate days and you would not be able to use both admissions on the same day. The ATS ticketing computer won't allow it.

riu girl: 2 day/2 park tickets can be purchased ahead of time at any theme park ticket window (including TTC), any Guest Relations location, and at any Disney resort front desk or Guest Services. Don't buy them too far ahead as the second day must be used within four days of purchase. And of course you can take the kids on the monorial. :)

Carol: Couldn't you have at least fixed my typo in that before reposting it? ;)

:teeth: Would have if I'd noticed it. Had to go back and read it twice to find it! (I'm not good at finding Waldo, either) ;) Aren't you glad you brought it to everyone's attention? LOL. :teeth:

GoldenOldie...Thanks for that input. Guess I was thinking that if I did buy the pass through the convention site, they may do something like you said, and charge me the difference, but I have now seen a few other references suggesting that there is little to know chance that'd ask for any type of proof for conference attendance or the like.

Alas though....now Hurricane Charley appears it will make all of this discussion moot. With a short trip, (Fri-Tue), and a flight from DC to Orlando scheduled for Friday night, don't think we'll be coming down to use any tickets of any type purchased anywhere!!

Do you know if you have access to fast pass with the 2 day park hopper tickets?

Thanks!

I am going on a convention with SIL in January. Before that we are going in Sept. (Dh, myself & grandson). I found the website for convention tickets and purchased. I will be using them in September. I wasn't sure it would work either, but it worked like a charm. Received the tickets by mail in about a week. Great deal. They are hopper passes plus and extra choice. The only thing is they DO have an expiration date and they also expire 10 days after first use. It was worth it for the savings and not having to invest more right now and have days left over. Nothing on the tickets show what convention or what dates (outside of expiration December 2005). The convention is in January 2005 and that is the reason they don't expire December 2004. Hope this helps.

Yes you can use fast pass with them. FYI - MANY people buy them and re sell on Ebay for WAY more than you pay at WDW. I would never do that, but I will be happy to use them myself.

And was NEVER asked for proof of anything. Simply put your last name in the Group name field and you are allowed to purchase. Select "other" if you aren't staying on Disney Property. It's that simple. They are identical to any other park hopper except they expire in 10 days or at December 31,2004. However, I'm not sure when they would expire if you used a different date as your trip.

Puckdad, I'm not sure what you are asking. These are parkhoppers so you wouldn't need to use another day at another park... you just hop to the other park on the same day. Maybe, I'm just confused at the question.

J

Hope I've helped somewhat.

Oh my gosh!! i just posted earlier about a 2-3 day park hopper pass before i saw this post. this is just what i wanted...i am a bit skeptical though, you are sure this REALLY works???? i mean just buy it through the convention place and that's it . . . a two day park hopper pass, no strings attached?? has someone done this for sure? i am amazed!! thanks bunches!!:bounce: :earseek:  :hyper:

I was just at WDW from August 16-21st and when my father went to pick up the tickets (2 Day Park Hopper) at the MGM Studios guest relations they DID ask what group we were with. They DID NOT ask for proof though. I'm not sure if they typed in what my dad said or not, so they might just ask and that's it. We were originally going to WDW August 12-16th but because of the hurricane we dalyed. On the 13th we were going to go to the CF Boat Show at the Convention Center since that is all that is technically required and have the ticket they give you as proof. Obviously this never happened so we went just hoping. From now on though I plan to just go through Alamo and purchase their 3-day park hopper :)
