2 BR value @ AK

I have heard that they are smaller than all other 2BR's but I wandered how the room was laid out. Most two br villas have a master bedroom and bath on one side of the living room and a br with 2 beds on the other with one other bathroom. Are the values like that or are there just two "studios" side by side???

We stayed in a 2bdrm Value at AKL in Dec '08. The room was laid out differently compared to the 2bdrms in Kidani. There are only 2 bathrooms, one off the hallway accross from the master bedroom (which is much smaller then the ones in Kidani - we couldn't fit the pack n' play in it and we had to put dd in front of the closet opposite the sink before the enterance to the shower/toliet area). The shower is a jazuzzi tub with shower - not seperate, w/ the toliet in the room. You have a high step in and out of the shower. The washer dryer is at the end of the hall. The living area is smaller and I don't recall there being a sleeper chair. Just the couch, table & chairs and tv unit. There is no island in the kitchen and it went along the wall in an L shape. There were 2 double stacked dishwashers. The studio was pretty much like the studios in kidani except the sink area was outside the toliet/shower and the bed was next to the siding glass door. All of the Values are in Jambo House and all of the 2-bedroom units in Jambo House are lock-offs. They will be a 1-bedroom and a Studio joined by a connecting door. The 2nd bedroom will the Studio.

We stayed in a 1br jambo house concierge level and this sounds like what we had...is it possible that this was a value?? The only differnce seems to be that we had a "movable" island and there was a sleep chair.

This is why I won't be booking a value anymore in the future. That is a difficult step when you have 70+ year old guests using it!

Even though I would like to conserve points once in a awhile, I'm sticking with Kidani from now on. It's a shame too because it was just the right size, reasonably point priced villa otherwise.

The value does not have a sleeper chair. The values are about 3 feet shorter than the other 1-bedrooms in Jambo House, otherwise the layout is pretty much the same.

This is why I won't be booking a value anymore in the future. That is a difficult step when you have 70+ year old guests using it!

For clarification, all the Jambo 1 bedrooms will have the big step because the soaking tub and shower are combined. This design is in all Jambo 1 beds including Value standard and savannah and club level. If I'm spending 1 bedroom points, I much prefer the layout of Kidani although the values definitely are reasonable.

When you say that the washer and dryer are at the end of the hall, do you mean they are in the unit itself or outside the unit down the hall in a common area? I was really planning on the washer and dryer being in the room so we can put stuff in and leave it.

There is a stacked washer and dryer in the room. By hallway, they are referring the the hallway that seperates the bedroom and the bathroom in the 1-bedroom portion of the 2-bed lockoff.

That's something I didn't know. It makes sense to have one dishwasher drawer, but whey two in a unit that small?

I have a problem with steps, but in a value 2 bedroom, I can just take my shower in the studio part. There's no reason for me not to book it. Would that work for your 70 year old?
