2/9/2013 - Fantasy Mardi Gras Cruise *****

Well, as I'm sitting here in fear from Isaac: no power, howling winds, leaky roof...I can't wait until our Mardi Gras cruise. Trying to think of positive things so I don't totally lose it!

I have been MIA for a while - so busy with work and life.... but we got our 7A gty assignment last night- got 7170 7A - I think I might spend a couple hundred bucks to upgrade more midship - not sure I am loving aft - going to go study deck plans again and see what I think :)
Still so far off but I have so many events going on between now and then it will whiz on by!!!

Just booked our 3 nights before the cruise at AoA Nemo. Now if free dining or an annual pass discount came out- that would be icing on the cake!

Looks like there will be a few from this cruise at AoA - we have 2 (hopefully connecting) LM rooms for 4 nights. Flights from London now booked. Next on the list is the DCL transfer from AoA to the ship (I know a town car is probably cheaper for 5 of us, but we like the convenience and DS loves the onboard videos) and choosing somewhere to stay for 6 nights after the cruise.

We are going on the 9/2 cruise on the Fantasy

we are DH, :dance3: DD 6 (on the cruise) DD 2 and DD 11 months

looking forward to getting involved in the FE my oldest DD will love it.

We are also cruising with my parents and DH parents

We have a gty reservation, and are wondering when and how you found out about your assignment? This is the first time we've tried gty. We did log into our DCL account, but it still shows gty.

Hi everyone! David here, DH of Mog's Mom... We just got back from our last camping trip of the summer, and the kids are just So Excited to be returning to school tomorrow morning! :rotfl2:

I want to remind everyone about our Roll Call and FE Exchange. If you haven't signed up yet, or need to update your information, please visit the registration form. Once registered, you can get a read out via the Data Request form.

Still debating on what we are doing pre-cruise - fly into the Hyatt the night before or go to WDW fro 2-3 days... depends on budget at this point and how well some work goes over the next couple months :)

Dropping in for a quick hello to everyone!!!

Photojudy - Thanks for thinking of the Louisiana folks during Isaac. I'm was so relieved when most of Baton Rouge didn't get hit as bad as was predicted. I was very lucky not to have lost power, cable, phone at all. Recovery is still taking place and many are still dealing with the after effects.

Glad to see a few more families have joined the fun!

We are in the midst of college and NFL football season and hopes are still running high that our Louisiana teams will do well. Saturdays are filled with LSU tailgating and games while Sunday we are cheering on our New Orleans Saints. Once football comes to a close (literally), we'll be on our way to the cruise! At least this year, the SuperBowl will be played prior to our cruise -- although we'll be seeing lots of people in the New Orleans airport as they try to return to their homes and we are trying to get to Port Canaveral.

Counting down like everyone else!!

Happy Fall!

Lisa

Just found out that our stateroom has been assigned -10664 - wahoo! With a huge verandah like that, who needs the rest of the ship?!

I'm sad to say that we've cancelled our Fantasy cruise--and booked the December Panama Canal cruise instead.

Wish we could do both!!

We just got our GTY room assignment, no upgrade. They assigned room 5024 which is the 7A GTY we paid for. However, after doing research, I realized that this is one of the least desirable rooms on the ship. It is directly over the Disney Theater and has a noise issue. The biggest issue, however, is that the neighbor's veranda in room 5026 extends further than the veranda for room 5024 and the neighbors can see into the the stateroom. Not sure what to do since we booked with DVC points. I called DVC and after about 25 minutes on hold, they were able to change our room to one on deck 9, still category 7A, but with a private veranda. Thanks DVC!

137 Days and counting!!

We are booked on DVC points as well and GTY. I saw your post and logged in to see if we had been assigned a room yet and we haven't.

How did you figure out it was LEAST desirable? on the boards? Where? Help, please?

Start here: http://www.wdwinfo.com/disney-cruise-line/disney-fantasy-room-reports.cfm

Since they have the same layouts, you can also look at the reviews from the Dream, just select a different ship.

There are also reviews posted on other cruise boards, just google "disney fantasy stateroom xxxxx report". We also found photos of our room this way.

Bizarre coincidence... both Cyndi's ex-room (5024) and ours (10664) have been reviewed negatively by the same person!
