2/9/2008 - Valentine Cruise 7 Night Western - Anyone On The Love Boat ?

wow! I've been gone for a long time!! I think my last post was somewhere around page 16? Anyway, great to see you're all excited!! I need to find some friends for DD6. I'll check the kids thread first. This is her second disney cruise, but its still nice to know someone before boarding.

Our DD is 6 also! This is our first cruise. Our DD does not know about the cruise yet (we are surprising them) but I am sure she would love to meet your DD. :) It might be nice for her to be with someone who has cruised before. Does your DD like the kids club?

My DD is 6 too, her name is Vyrnwy (its a Welsh name) :flower3: .. I think there are quite a few kids this age going on the cruise :goodvibes

Christmas just isn't the same when your ill, I had a nose operation (septoplasty and turbinate reduction) on the 21st and felt terrible all christmas, it takes 6 weeks to fully heal so just in time for the cruise:cool1: :cool1:
Now christmas is over we can concentrate on the cruise, I've just cancelled a disney excursion, swimming with dolphins in Cozumel, decided to grab a taxi and do it on our own, should work out much cheaper.

Happy New Year To Everyone

Only 40 days to go:banana:

Ian

My granddaughter's going and she's 7.

Ian, sorry you weren't feeling well. I can relate, the five days before Christmas I had a stomach virus and now I have a cold.

Judy, how do you pronounce your dd's name?

Gorgeous lake! Pretty name! I like it a lot.

Happy New Year Cruisemates!

Great! Emma would love to meet kids she can play with on the cruise. Yes, she really enjoyed going to the Oceaneer's Club. In fact the friend she played with the most, she met on the disboards prior to the cruise. Knowing someone seems to really make a difference for the kids AND the parents. I felt much more at ease knowing she had a friend instead of me thinking she was playing alone. We even changed the time of one of our shore excursions so the girls could swim with the dolphins together in Cozumel.

Emma left her a message on the kids thread a day or so ago. I see no official "meet and greet". Is anyone interested in one for the kids? Any ideas of place and time? :confused3 There is an open house the first night at the O.Club and O.Lab. This may be a good place?

On our last cruise the kids all met by the Mickey slide about 2pm on the first day, that seemed to work pretty well, they then had the kids gift bag exchange which my kids loved:banana: at the adult meet the following day.

Hi Brian,

We were thinking of doing the swimming with dolphins at Cozumel, is it worth it, shold we book with Disney or go on our own?:confused3

Thanks

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!! party:

Do you realize that our cruise is this year? I am beyond excited!! We are starting our packing early too. I start a new job tomorrow that will have me plenty busy up until we fly down to Orlando so I want to have everything done and ready to go!
Is anyone else going to have little ones in Flounder's Reef during the cruise? DS is 18 months old and I was wondering if there were any other kids his age there?

in grand cayman we organized our own excursion, but in cozumel we did a disney. although disney excusions are pricier, we preferred to have disney work out all the details. Because I am the one who usually does all the research for the best place, best price, etc., having disney do it made it much more relaxing for me. For the dolphin excursion, 50 or so cruisers met just off the ship, they led us to the mall area across the street from the dock, then very efficiently placed us in cabs and took us to the location. We were then broken down to groups of about 10 I think to go into the swim area. After this we were free to stay at the beach area. Here you could snorkel. But that was about all. The "beach" area was actually a wall of rocks, and the initial water depth was over 4 feet. Swimming with the dolphins was REALLY neat, and disney made it very easy. However, next time we wouldn't stay after to play at the "beach." As for the price, well it was the most expensive shore excursion that trip, but was also the most remembered.

sounds good :thumbsup2

whats the gift bag exchange??

The kids gift bag exchange on our last cruise was were all the kids bought items fron their home town and exchanged with someone else, all the children that wanted to take part contacted the organiser on the disboard, when all the names were in the kids were divided into pairs of the same age group, this was all done about 2 weeks before departure so the kids could chat about the exchange on the kids thread,
