2-3 resorts for 6 nights?

I have done that once in april

I stayed at Grand Floridian for 3 nights, Polynesian for 1 night, and Wilderness Lodge for 2 nights
it didnt really bother me at all. We had no problem with Disney switching our bags. I dont know ifi i want to do 3 resorts in a stay again but i can do 2 in a 6 day stay...

I'm going in July and am staying at OKW for five nights and ASM for the first and last nights. What is the easiest way to switch resorts. Can we take our luggage on the shuttles, is there even a way to get from OKW to ASM ? We don't have a rental car.

No way, no how!!!!! Too much time wasted checking in and out, packing and unpacking, being "homeless" when your room isn't ready. I once did three resorts in five days, never again. No, no, no.

IMHO I would not want to do more than 2 resorts in a six day trip. Switching is usually hassle free but it does waste some time with packing, unpacking, etc.

Not in 6 days!!!!
No way, no how AGAIN!!!!!

WDW resorts are wonderful about transfering luggage to the other resorts...we never had any problems with that end.

I think the best rule of thumb is to stay at least three days at each resort between each switch.

Last summer, we stayed three nights at Poly, then transferred to AKL for another four nights, then transferred to the Dolphin for a week's stay.

What a great way to truely take in each one of those fab resorts!
:D

JMHO.....:)

IMHO, it depends why you would want to switch so much. Personally, I'd prefer not to. Even if WDW makes it easy to switch, I agree that it takes away from valuable vacation time.

Have a great trip, whatever you decide to do! :)

We switched hotels too many times during our trip in November--wouldn't do it again!

We stayed in 1 hotel the night we arrived (near airport), then stayed at Hard Rock for 2 nights, then 2 nights at AKL, then 3 nights at Beach Club, and the last night we stayed at the Hyatt at MCO.

It was too crazy! We never felt that we were "home" at any of the places we stayed. I would suggest for a 6 night stay to pick one resort to stay at and then go have a meal at one of the restaurants in the other resorts.

Have fun!

Well, since I like to completely unpack and "move in" if you will---three resorts would probably be too much of a hassle for me in such a short period of time. We have done two resorts in 6 days or less, and that would probably be my limit.

That being said, I do enjoy experiencing a couple of different resorts in one trip. Have a wonderful trip whatever you decide!:)

A lot of it, I think, does depend on how much you "move in". Since we pretty much live out of our bags, this is not a problem for us. I like the idea of switching resorts, because we then plan our trip around where we are staying. For our next trip, we are staying at the Wilderness Lodge and doing MK and resort hopping at GF and Poly, Downtown Disney. The next day we are switching to Boardwalk Villas (DVC Rentals - $108 per night) for 4 nights and doing Epcot, MGM, and AK. Then, either 1 or 2 nights for Contemporary Tower and MVMCP. We enjoy switching - since it isn't that much of a hassle for us.

athyng - You can get to OKW from/to the All Stars, but you it is not a direct service. You have to stop at a Theme Park, or Downtown Disney. Disney will move your bags for you if you wish.

I think two different resorts would work.... We are splitting our May trip between 4 nights at BC Con and 5 at the Poly Con........ My husband is baulking at one change! LOL

Have fun planning and let us know what you decide!!!:D

I did it on a solo trip in January-2 resorts in 5 days (and actually 2 different rooms, one each night in the second resort). It wasn't a hassle for me-it was all part of the Disney experience! When I checked out of ASMu after 3 nights, I brought my luggage to bell services (could have called and had them pick it up, but I chose this way) and told them to deliver it to AKL. Then, I'd scheduled DVC van to pick me up for the tour and then DTD. Then I just took the bus from DTD to AKL, checked in and called bell services to bring my bags. Next morning, I brought my bags to bell services, went to MGM, came back, checked into new room, and had bell services deliver my bags to my new room. Sounds like a lot of work, but it really wasn't. It seemed so easy, and so much fun to see different parts of Disney, that DH and I are staying at 2 different resorts in June, both DVC, which we joined. However, we're empty nesters-in truth, I can't imagine doing what I did if my sons were little again!
