Brief trip report about a great cruise!

We were a group of 10 adults traveling together for the first time.

Pre Cruise:

My husband and I stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge the night before the cruise. That was a great choice - a nice way to experience the lodge and we really didn't need more than one day to enjoy what it has to offer.

Tiffany Town Car: used for all transportation - 2nd time to use them and no complaints at all. They were always on time and watching for us.

Checking into the cruise was a piece of cake - loved the terminal - line moved quickly. We got there at 12:15 - were on in no time.

We didn't need to worry about the adult thing! Disney has so much for the kids to do and handles crowd control so well that we never had that "get me out of here" feeling. Having the adult pool was a big plus. If anything we had a great time watching the kids and their interactions. We had second seating and even there the kids were not even noticable.

I'm not going to go into details about food, etc. It was great. Palo's was fantastic. Service everywhere was excellent. Entertainment was wonderful. Think I liked it.

Ports:

Key West - a disappointment to us. Did the kayaking tour. It was nice to be out on the water. There is a 20 min boat ride to the kayaking. Then we basically kayaked in and around a Mangrove area. That was fine for a while, but got old and was a lot of work to push yourself through some of the areas. We kayak a lot an didn't find this a good/fun excursion. Not terrible but not the best. Also found Key West very commercial.

Grand Cayman - we love to snorkle which we did at Eden Rock - walking distance from pier. Very nice. Also did tour to turle farm, hell and stingray city. Don't miss stingrays!!! The rest was fun, too.

Cozumel - did on own. Taxi to Chakanab (sp?). Snorkeled twice. Did swim with Dolphins. Awesome. The encounter - which is the only one that Disney does - was very tame. The swim was totally interactive and a really fun experience. The park is beautifully done and very clean. Didn't have time to explore everything. had a great time here.

Castaway Cay - Everyone was right. The best island. Wish we could have had two days here. Did parasailing - wonderful. Snorkeled - family beach best - the trails here are great. Whole place organized and set up beautifully.

Would definitely consider this cruise again - after we've done a few other things!! Disney quality is very evident.

Nice trip report...thanks for posting.

Did you attend any of the adult theme nights in the clubs like 50's, 70's or 80's nights??? We always had a ball at those. The cruise staff makes them so much fun.

We also like the pool games at the adult pool and the Match Your Mate and Adult Scavenger Hunt games!!!

Didn't get to most of the theme nights - too late and too exhausted. But loved dualing pianos and sat in on several other things. - there were plenty of choices.

We did the dolphin swim as well. What time was yours?
I had thought swimming with the stingrays was the experience of a lifetime, but swimming with the dolphins topped that hands down! We thought it was money well spent!

we swam with the dolphins at 2 p.m. Gave us plenty of time in the morning to snorkel, eat lunch, snorkel again and then get to the dolphins. Great having everything right there.

What a great group we had on the 2 p.m. swim! Joe and I ended up on the bus back to MCO with Terree and Taylor!
How many times have you watched the video? I can't wait to "bore" the entire family with it, I could watch it over and over, what an experience.
Our tablemates were subjected to my gushing over our hour with the dolphins, they said I should be a salesperson for dolphin discovery <lol>.

Hi Sue.....great trip recap!! I'm glad you and Oz had a super cruise!! and I'm happy to know that you would do it again!!! Bob & I can't wait to go again as always!! plus everyone else does too!! We'll have to plan another in a few years!! Can't wait to have our after cruise party with all our pictures!! Here's my email address: rdflaf@aol.com. Talk with you soon!! Laurie

Loved your trip report! I did the swim with the dolphin program in Nassau and it was a wonderful. More money than the encounter, but money well spent.

Thanks!
Tina :)

Glad everyone liked my little report! Judy - yes, we did have a great group and yes we are boring everyone with our pictures of us and the dolphins!

Laurie - it was great! Say hi to Bob.

Hopkins - Do they have the Dolphins on the 4 day cruise? My sister-in-law is doing that one next year and I want to make sure they consider the swim!

We did the Dolphin Swim program at the Blue Lagoon in Paradise Island (Nassau). Disney offered the Encounter, but not the swim when we did it last year, so we had to book it ourselves.

The is also a dolphin program in Freeport, too!

Check with DCL to make sure that they don't offer the swim programs. I know they offered the encounter ones last year, but things change.

Tina :)
