2/02/2013 5 - Night Bahamian Cruise, Miami FL on Wonder

Worried about the baby and his reactions to all of it, and hoping he enjoys his nursery time.

We live an hour from WDW and haven't taken DD to the parks yet. I agree... too much stress and too expensive. The cruise is a GREAT way to travel with a young one.

We took DD on our first DCL cruise in May this year, she was 15 months. She loved it! Loved the characters, the food, exploring the ship (to an extent), and when she saw toys in the nursery she loved it.

On boarding day, you can go into the nursery as well as the clubs during open house and registration. You can get a feel from there if he will like the surroundings.

Looks like we're saying farewell. We decided to switch cruises/upgrade to cat 5b! We originally booked 11B, so this was quite the move.

If anyone else is a FL resident. Rates came out for the January cruises this week. For us we broke even on our upgrade, for my inlaws.. they were able to save $300 AND upgrade to 5B with us. Couldn't pass that up. I suspect rates could come out for February as well, but we were contemplating a switch to an itinerary with GC.

Have a good cruise. We'll be getting off the Wonder the Day you embark, now. :cool1:

We are booked on the Groundhog's Day cruise also:
Cabin #1 Myself (Nicki) My Husband (Ernie) DD 10 (Charlotte) DD 6 (Norah) and DS 9mos. (Walter/Wall-e)
Cabin #2 My wonderful Parents
Cabin #3 My Bro, SIL and 4yr old nephew

this is our first cruise as a family, my parents have cruised on Disney but the only cruises I've ever been on where in the late 80's on the Big Red Boat

so excited!!!!!

FYI The price looks to have dropped by $5. FWIW! lol

Not much, but maybe it will drop some more tomorrow! Keep your eyes peeled :thumbsup2

HI everyone!! We have been inactive for a while, trying to get everything planned for our ...... WEDDING!! Thats right, Brett and I tied the knot on October 20th, and then spent our honeymoon with the Mouse in Florida! We actually were on the 3 night Dream cruise that sailed through Sandy.... we had a great time!

I have been so busy with the wedding and so involved with the cruise group from the Dream sailing that I havent stopped by this thread in a while, but now I can focus on our upcoming Wonder cruise!!

So, lets do a roll call! I know Florida discounts (we are from Los Angeles, so doesnt apply to us, sadly) just came out so some people may have switched cruises, so who is still here?!

As for us, it will be me and the HUSBAND (!!!!!!! so fun being married!) - we are Molly (32) and Brett (30), and we will be joined by 4 friends - Dave and Mel, and Ellen and Casey (all ages between 26 - 32). Whoop whoop!!

Anyone interested in doing FE? Are we planning/interested in any meet ups? Lets get the ball rolling!!!!

:banana::banana::banana:

We are still in - PIF now as well :)

Not sure how full these cruises are. Hope they don't come out with super deals or I will be bummed that we may have gotten a better price!

Brett and I sailed on the Dream last month and although we had already booked this cruise, we each booked again so we could get the discount and the onboard credit. Yay for 10% and room credits!

That cruise was the first leg of our honeymoon, and as luck would have it, we sailed right into Hurricane Sandy - yikes! We actually still had a great time, despite the storm, and and made the best of the circumstances and were thrilled when we received a letter before disembarking that offered us 25% off on a future sailing - jackpot! We had to jump through a couple of hoops, but Disney finally agreed to apply the additional discount to our existing reservations which we made onboard. Yay!

So we cancelled the original reservations and added our friends (Dave and Mel) into our new reservations so that we could all take advantage of the great discount.

Our rooms at that point were a Cat 11C GTY (for Dave and Mel) and a CAT 5A for my husband and me, but since we had these great discount opportunities, I thought why not make the most of it and upgrade our room? I mean, when else am I going to have a discount like this?! We've got to take advantage of it while we can! So I called Disney and they moved us up into a one bedroom suite - yeah!!

While I was looking at which one bedroom suites are available (alas, the special midship suites are already full!), I saw that Disney had dropped the price of the Cat 11C cabins, so I called Disney again and they adjusted our price to the lower rate - the CM on the phone was shocked at our great rate!

So in total, between our discounts and the lower rate, we have saved a grand total of (drumroll please) $1400!!! Woohoo!!

And since our savings were so great, we decided to treat ourselves to a cabana on CC - YAY!! So excited!!!

:jumping1:

No turning back now! We are paid in full!!! Woohoo!!!

Assigned on e room number so far (8100) but still GTY for the other room.... anyone else???

Add us!!!!
The reason this thread might be empty though, is it is listed as a Bahamian Cruise... but it is a Caribbean cruise... anyone know how to change that???

Good call!! I noticed that too, but I have no idea how to fix it? I think most people moved cruises when the FL Res rates came out...

BUT regardless of that, WELCOME to the group!! :grouphug:

We finally got our second room assigned today!

Its official!

Brett & Molly - 8100

Dave & Mel - 5127

52 days to go!!!

Well, we are a little late to the game, but in this case...better late than never! This will be our first DCL vacation and we are so excited. It will be myself, my DH, our DD (7) and DS (4). We are on Deck 7. I have a lot to learn in a short period of time! I have done WDW more times in my life than I even know (I think we went every year from the time I was 5 until I was in college, but I don't have a list), but this is totally new! Looking forward to learning and possibly participating in a FE Gift exchange.

Welcome aboard!! I am so excited that our little group is finally growing! We are Molly (32, me) and DH (30). This will be our 3rd Disney cruise, so we are by no means experts, but I would be glad to help as much as I can with any questions you may have! I am hoping that now with the Kids Sail Free offer, more people will be joining our group soon!!

Ok so I know this is a (strangely) quiet board, but we are 45 days out people!! Lets get excited!!

In an effort to get us all pumped up, I offer 2 suggestions.

1. I volunteer to organize the FE sign up! Since we are just 6 weeks away and so far have not set any guidelines for FE, I propose that we close the FE sign up on January 19 (2 weeks before the cruise). But I am of course up to suggestions! So far confirmed for the FE I have:

Molly (32) & Brett (30)
Dave (31) & Mel (32)

let me know if you are planning to join the FE and lets get it going!

2. How about we start a facebook page? The last cruise we were on had a facebook page that was much more active than the disboard thread - just a thought? I am also willing to start the facebook page if we decide to do that!

45 days!!!!!!!!! :dance3:

Check out the new fish extender my mom made us from her etsy shop!!!

Yes to all of the above!!! A hesitation on the FE's. I've been reading about them, but I don't think I understand all the details, can you explain how it would work, and what kind of things we we bring?

We only booked a week ago, and I've been on the DIS, but I'm reading everything I can rather than posting.
I guess I should introduce myself a bit... Me, DH, DS8 and DS11... and we are on deck 6. First time cruise to anywhere. Both of our trips to DW were 10 day trips, and we love Epcot! DH gets travel sick, so I'm a bit worried. EVERYONE said he'd be fine... and I talked him up to a 5N from a 3N... the day after we booked, I ran into someone at my kid's school who spent an entire cruise sick.
I haven't told him, but if that happens I'm in BIG TROUBLE! LOL!
