We are looking for a good time to go to WDW this year....sometime with fewer crowds, and cooler weather. I also really want to see the Christmas decorations. We were thinking the week after thanksgiving (my DS b-day is the 29th...we were thinking of leaving that day as a surprise!). I was just wondering if anyone had info on the crowd size and also if leaving that Mon. would create more flying problems for us (ie. is the Mon after thanksgiving still a popular time to fly or do most travel that weekend?) Is there anything going on that week that would create higher than normal crowds for that time of the year, this year? (ie. schools out, special events etc..) In the past we have tried to pick weeks that are suppose to be less busy, but then when we get there we realize something "special" is going on and the crowds are higher than normal! We went the first week of Nov. a couple of years ago and it was so busy they were closing the parks mid day! Any info would be GREATLY appreciated!! Thanks!!!

I've gone twice during that time period and think it's a wonderful time to go. At times the parks did seem crowded, but lines for attractions were non-existent. The weather was great. Not hot, not cold. Plus getting to partake in all that Disney offers at Christmastime (the Candlelight Processional: MVMCP) is just magical. I think you can't go wrong in going during this period.

Have Fun,

That's our annual visit time. The parks close earlier in the evenings, but you don't have wait times, so you still get to do more. We've even stayed on rides several times in a row without having to get off and reboard. (Splash Mountain several times, as well as some of the smaller rides.)

I too am looking at that week. Have heard great things about the lack of crowds, great weather, and Xmas extras. Can't wait ti see it and compare. We are also going end of April (few weeks). Haven't ever been this time of year either. I generally go 1st week in October - great week. Crowds low, weather still hot. Perhaps I'll go then too, who knows.

My favorite time of year to go, low crowds and can very warm enough for shorts and to swim (depending on the year)...A few things closed but worth the trade off lower crowds in my opinion.

go for it that is our annual trip time also again low crowds and lines also cooler temps and all the decorations are beautiful check out mvmcp i hope they announce dates soon we will be there dec 4 th thru 15 th have fun

It's a great time to go, we have done it two years in a row. It gets more crowded towards the next weekend, of course. It's always more crowded on weekends.
Flying on Monday will be fine. We usually arrive on Friday the day after Thanksgiving, and nearly everyone seems to leave on Saturday or Sunday at the latest. Monday should be like a regular Monday. You will love those first few days at Disney! I'm trying to decide whether or not to go again those dates this year.

The only time I've visited DW is in August (I did not plan that trip!), but am looking forward to a December visit myself this year. It's a surprise for my boyfriend's birthday, which is the weekend before Thanksgiving. We will be there 2-7 December and cannot wait!:earsgirl:
