***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

Back to the poncho question. I feel like read somewhere that the Disney ponchos they sold in the parks were better than the dollar store disposable ones and lasted quite a bit. Do any of you veterans have any experience with the Disney ponchos they sell on property? Just curious!

My only issue with the disney ponchos is that they will be EVERYWHERE you look - I'm nervous it will be hard to spot our group if they look like everyone else around us in the rain (yes I'm paranoid about losing a kid! LOL)

Not sure if everyone knows already but Festival of Fantasy FP is no more and the reserved area is now for a dining package at Tony's- replacement for MSEP dining package.
So funny! I was going to ask today if the fp for the MK day parade was a yay or nay! Guess it's a big ol nay

Yes I have the hedge maze on my list of 'playgrounds'! I think a few people here mentioned it! If anyone else knows of a favourite place to let your kids loose, please let me know! So far I have Swiss Family Treehouse, Casey's Splash area, Dumbo, UK hedge maze, Boneyard...

Oh I'm curious about spots for Illuminations too. Was thinking about using an FP one night...

I know there's a play area at the exit of Splash Mountain as well.

Yep, that is a downside to a Disney poncho. But, we still love them!

BTW, and someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but the Swiss Family Treehouse is just something you climb up, look at, and then climb down again. There isn't really anywhere to "play" up there, as far as I understand.

You are definitely right - we did that last trip and it was TOO MUCH WORK :rotfl: My alomst 2yo wanted to do it himself, there were people trying to go around us, it's pretty cramped. I won't be repeating it again ;)

Ah i've never been, looks like a big playground to me! LOL! I guess it's not something for my 2 year old! Thanks!!! I certainly do not want to carry him up and down (I'm a klutz so I don't really trust myself :rotfl:)

LOL, definitely off my list!

I've heard there are places to play on Tom Sawyer Island, but we never went over there. Frankly, that place scares the cr*p outta me, but that's just me. I have issues. ;)
I actually want to ride the boat to get there but not necessarily play there... Haha! We'll see.. maybe we'll stick with the mainland stuff! :rotfl2:

Anyone doing HDDR with toddler here? I've heard great reviews but I'm second guessing myself since it's 2 hours long... And my toddler is not exactly a fan of fried chicken and ribs :scared1:

We didn't make it over last trip but plan to do it this trip if we can...why does it scare you? Maybe I need to do some more research before I build time into my plans haha

Trust me, it's just me. Like I said, I have issues. People go there all day every day and have a fantastic time. Enjoy!

I used my lunchtime today at work to redo my AK TP. I'm only posting the summary of total minutes and the map. Even with this plan, there are items I would skip if needed (like if we don't get the FPs used in this plan).

I think I've decided to just call and reschedule the Trek to 8:00, since there's really nothing to do in Africa during EMH before the trek, except the Kilimanjara Safari.

It's a lot better, but I still have one big walk across the park from Festival of the Lion King over to DINOSAUR. But I scheduled doing the Discovery Island trails and It's a Bug's Life then so it's more than just a long walk. :)

Then we do have a little interruption to the flow again after dinner, when I want to shoot for a sunset Kilimanjaro Safari ride before heading to the Tree of Life at night.

I will say one thing about doing these TPs...even if you don't use them in the end but instead make your own less-detailed version, creating these is extremely helpful to me as a newbie. I'm studying the maps and learning where everything is ahead of time. Last week I couldn't tell you where DINOSAUR was, or even which country the Kali River Rapids was in.

Much better flow with this one!

Much better flow with this one!

Yay, thanks! I'm learning. It does still seem like a lot of walking, because it counts walking through the trails as "busy" time instead of walking time. So that's 55 minutes of walking for all 3 trails, in addition to the 57 minutes it is estimating us walking between things. But we can always skip those trails if we feel the need to.

Edited to add: Maybe the 30 minutes of sitting for all 3 shows will balance out all the walking. :)

It's a lot of walking because AK is huge and so spaced out. We were exhausted that night!!

@JamieOak This version looks great! :) I'm thinking TP has been invaluable to me actually. Makes this inexperienced planner feel much less intimidated and like I might actually end up pulling this planning thing off! lol I think simply learning what the options are and having somewhat of an understanding of the distance in between them (the "layout of the land") are half the battle really. :)

I actually hope we are exhausted! We need to turn in early to be refreshed for an early morning (EMM) and a loooong day the next day. That's also why I accepted having AK as our first park, which was kind of upsetting me for some reason at first because I wanted it to be MK or EP.

I actually have in the plan that we could hop to Epcot after AK closes if we want, but I'm not planning for it. Most likely we'll find a bar to park at before we turn in.
