***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

Who here as the DP, DxDP, QSDP, or no dining plan?

We're doing the DxDP. It's already feeling like a lot of food, but it'll be good. I adore Disney snacks!
No dining plan. We've done it twice and it just doesn't fit the way we like to eat. Since we are annual passholders and have been making multiple trips to WDW lately, we use the Tables in Wonderland discount card. It gives us 20% off most table service meals, including alcohol. It also includes most resort lounges.

Thanks for the info @Talby !! Wish I had read about this whole experience/ package sooner. Now I remember you all talking about it but it was way over my head at the time :)

I had a similar issue with SDFP; my head was practically spinning when I first started reading about it. It feels like some of this stuff takes time to process. I think our brains kind of sift through it until something clicks and the light bulb goes on! There is SO MUCH to learn about! This board has greatly improved the quality of our vacation!! The list of things I didn't know before coming here is pretty long!

As for the dining plan, STILL undecided here! :confused3 At first it was the regular plan, then deluxe was considered, then OOP, then back to regular! lol The problem is our ADRs aren't 100% finalized. When then happens, I'll run numbers through the dining calculator and let that determine what we go with. :-)
Not sure if you already know, but I find using the rustyscupper's sticky on buffet prices on the dining thread very helpful. It's a little frustrating that the dining calculator is more average, I feel. To determine which dining plan I was using, I used that thread I mentioned for buffet prices and I used menu prices for anything ala carte, picking specifically what we would most likely want to order :)

We're hopping everyday I think. (My plans now at least, LoL) I have my evenings for the last three days unplanned still... Mornings mostly at MK but because of the hours, I'm not sure what to do :confused3 Epcot is in my plans most nights only because DHS and AK close sooo early

We are planning the do the same, except one of the nights will be dinner in AK at Yak & Yeti in hopes that River of Light will be running by then. :) And then one night should be at DHS for the Star Wars fireworks.

I did not know about this and I'm so glad you shared it! Figuring based on "average" made me a little cranky, I must admit. This sounds far more accurate and I can't wait to play around with it!. We're alllllmost there in terms of being finalized. Looking forward to having this decision finally put to rest! lol :thanks:

You're very welcome! I'm very glad to be able to help! I like the fact that rustyscupper updates his numbers with tax included already since that's basically what you pay for in purchasing the dining plan :)

I don't planning will ever be put to rest until my countdown reaches day 0! :D

We have free dinning .... tho I did consider upgrading to Deluxe and filling our stay with signatures. I decided that I did not want to be tied to multiple reservations per day. :cutie: The cost of the upgraded dinning could be better spent on extras!!

This thread has been suuuuper helpful in all planning! :grouphug:

I do think that H&V is one of the hardest to get because there are so few dinning options in DHS. I'm cheering for everyone that is still trying to get one! :cheer2::cheer2:

I do have one of my TP setup searching from 11/28 to 12/10.... hoping I can snag one for someone.

@Talby of course the CM could not find availability for you H&V with F! You're holding the reservation. I think some just don't understand.

I called today for EMM....
I told that CM I wanted to book for 11/29 and the it was not showing any availability online. She looked and said I seems to be sold out...

I told her that the dates were only posted yesterday. She replied in a very confused tone "sometimes you just have to keep checking"
:laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing:

Clearly you're ahead of the CM ;)

My daughter had considered upgrading to the Deluxe Dining plan because they had a couple of signature meals planned. But it came down to having too many counter service meals that they wanted to do, so they went with the regular dining plan.

We're doing the regular Dining Plan, and paying OOP for a couple of meals. I actually just added a tab to my spreadsheet to figure out how many QS, TS, and snacks we'll be using, and the cost benefit analysis, but I haven't completed it yet.
DH and I are used to all-inclusive vacations because we like to have as much as possible paid up front, so the DDP just makes sense for us. We considered upgrading to DxDP, but it's just way more food than we would eat (well, than I would eat!), and cost wise it didn't make sense.
I also am concerned about eating too much. I have lost about 60 pounds (and kept it off) over the last 2 years, but I still have a lot more to lose and don't want to gain a bunch back. I heart food, especially the food at Disney!

Maybe someone will cancel:)

Forgot to mention, I had a scare earlier...DH came home from work today and apparently the big global project he's been working on for 2 years has a go-live date of 12/9...when we'll be in Disney!! :furious:They asked him to change his dates, but thankfully he pushed back, and his boss had his back. We chose this week specifically because this project was supposed to be done, and it worked for my work schedule too. I can't imagine trying to start all over with my ADR's and everything!!

And if you think about it, the Holiday Dine is only two hours' worth of options each day (3:00-5:00 p.m. if you want F!) so I think that also contributes to the degree of difficulty with getting that particular ADR.

LOL...yeah, it's kinda why I prefer to get TWO CMs telling me the same thing. ;)

ETA: I do have to say though, I have talked to some really fantastic CMs--really knew their stuff, and were super helpful and such fun! :) It's a rarity that I want to bang my head against the wall because of CM conflicting or misinformation--but that has happened! lol

What a relief!! So happy for you and your husband!

I bet people will, especially as it gets closer and people have to cancel entirely or change dates. Don't give up yet!

bwahahahaha!!! That made me spit my water!!!

Yikes!!! Glad his boss had his back.... phew

I had my first Disney dream last night!! We were standing on Main Street, trying to get a Photopass photog to take our picture. We couldn't get one where we were both smiling, and then all of a sudden, mosquitos started swarming the place. Then the mosquitos turned into birds, and the guy was still trying to take a picture with the castle in the background, and birds everywhere. At that point I woke up.
I have no idea what dream analysis would say about that crazy dream!! :rotfl:

Thanks @areno79 and @pigletgirl :) I was actually here like a month ago pretty religiously and then work and life happened and also every time I came on here I came away convinced to do another ADR or some form of extra. My bank account needed a recovery period lol.
