***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

Who here as the DP, DxDP, QSDP, or no dining plan?

We're doing the DxDP. It's already feeling like a lot of food, but it'll be good. I adore Disney snacks!

We're doing the Disney dining plan. I made a spreadsheet of the DP costs and financially it made a lot sense for us because we have one character meal per day. And two are expensive ones- chef Mickey dinner and Akershus dinner. For the kids we were saving money because the cost of the kids dining plan was less than the cost of the kids meal at the character meals combined. And since my kiddos are little (3 & 5) I think the character meal really adds to the day and will cut down on the meet and greets throughout the day. We will for sure break even and I think come out ahead. I don't think it would make sense if most of our meals were non character meals.

We have DDP from 11/27 to 12/6... one night room only.

Oh... I'm so excited for Epcot. I have not been since a was a kid. My kids have never been, they've only been to MK. DHS and AK will be new to all of us.

I think we need 2 mornings in EP.

We're doing 1 day in Epcot and not even a full day at that because we're planning a long break. I really like Epcot but I think my kids are too young to really appreciate it. My son won't be able to ride soarin or test track or mission space. My daughter can ride them though. I feel like all the things that will be of interest to them can be accomplished in a long morning after rope drop. I also don't think that my kids will be excited by the world showcase, with the exception of the frozen stuff at Norway and possibly the Mexico pavilion. We're not going to wait in any other lines to meet princesses except for Ana and Elsa. I figure that between Akershus and Ana and Elsa that it's enough princesses! The CP sounds awesome to me but I can't imagine my kiddos sitting through it. We're going to watch illuminations.

For CP, not only that I can't imagine my two year old sitting through it, I can't imagine DH either :rotfl2:

Seriously though, I'm spending most of my time at MK. Trying to find a balance is hard though. Especially balancing how much time to rest and nap vs going to different parks!

I'm just kind of popping in right now, but I'm in the same boat as you I think! Im thinking of getting the park hoppers... We have 3 days at MK... But what if the kids really like something at Epcot and want to try that again? It'd be easy to pop over.

We're hopping everyday I think. (My plans now at least, LoL) I have my evenings for the last three days unplanned still... Mornings mostly at MK but because of the hours, I'm not sure what to do :confused3 Epcot is in my plans most nights only because DHS and AK close sooo early

I hope they open ROL :( but it's taken three days (so far) just for them to initiate the process online to book EMM, so I can see how it takes years to finalize a whole show!

And yes, I don't know why I really didn't commit to hopping sooner. If I get this h&v! Show it's a definite! Fingers crossed :)

I still can't book EMM online, I get an error message that says unable to plan, try again later. Been trying all day

quick question for those of you that got or were recently looking for H&V! dinners!...how long did it take you to find a reservation? i'm just curious if this is a super popular ADR that I really should not put into my plan as a hopeful night option. Is it more difficult than a BOG ADR? It does seem it really. I've seen lots of people get those lately actually! Just wondering if I actually have a chance at this!

Just some info about H&V F!...
I called to switch my regular H&V dinner to the F! package. The CM tells me he'd be happy to do that for me after I explain I was fretting over letting it go myself, concerned someone else would scoop it up in the moments it took to release the regular one and snatch up the F! package. The snag is he tells me there is no more H&V F! availability (at this moment; could change as people cancel). So I couldn't just switch it through them and I'm too reluctant to let the regular one go; it was so hard earned! lol While using a fast pass is certainly an option to see F! if opting for the regular H&V dinner, FP will not be the preferred VIP seating that is part of the F! dining package. So many factors to consider. I know many here are wanting H&V (with and w/o F!), so I thought I'd pass it on to consider as you weigh out the options! :-)

Thanks for the info @Talby !! Wish I had read about this whole experience/ package sooner. Now I remember you all talking about it but it was way over my head at the time :)

Personally, H&V has been the trickiest-to-get ADR for us, more so than BOG or CRT in terms of how often I've checked and the length of time I've waited to get it. That said, of course there's a chance. There are 3 months' of opportunities and chances! :yay:

I think it was difficult to begin with because h&v was fully booked as @Talby mentioned. But I think there is hope. I think people would still let it go, you just have to be patient. I'm surprised so many people let go of ohana and bog lately too :)

I just got our regular H&V yesterday and I've been trying for....at least a month. The commando checking has admittedly waxed and waned, but definitely a month's worth of checking. Tomorrow we could all be jumping for joy with you because you got yours!! :-) So hard not knowing, but I do believe persistence pays off here! :flower:

As for the dining plan, STILL undecided here! :confused3 At first it was the regular plan, then deluxe was considered, then OOP, then back to regular! lol The problem is our ADRs aren't 100% finalized. When then happens, I'll run numbers through the dining calculator and let that determine what we go with. :-)
