Hahahahaha.... I actually read that thread and wondered if I could disconnect the MB from my night room only night. And decided it would be too stressful.

From what I gathered it seems that buying a MB that had never been used gets the best results.

I read that whole SDFP thread too. It seems like a good idea for me to add 2 children under 3 to my res to get the MB's...but then it sounds like all the rides you could get aren't the big ones anyway. Is it really worth it for me to take time out to go to the FP kiosk when there may not be anything big worth getting a FP for?

I'd it could be used with a phantom MDE account I would be all over it. I agree about having to use it only at the kiosks... See like too much effort and frustration. I'll stick with the 3 and then hope that after they are used I can get more ...

We have enough park days that I don't think it will be a huge problem.
My kids are on the fence about FEA most like we won't even book one for that ride.

I've made a few changes and am feeling like I need to post again. why? i don't know. it helps me think about it out loud. are you guys sick of me yet? Also i have more detail filled in. it might be time to break out the spreadsheet day by day for plans.


yes with booze and sweets provided by someone else! PAR-TAY! I think it would definitely be fun when many of us have reason to want to be in the same place anyway. Also if we meet beforehand maybe we can jostle who stands where and make sure any shorties get in front of any tall people. Also no one in our group is allowed to hold a screen over their head and block others

What are your changed? I've thought of how to change my plans... Would probably scrap Tiffins but still playing around with the schedule...

Well I have a split stay right now. I have 1 night at AKL Kidani (added on when I moved my travel day from saturday back to Friday and getting into MCO around 5pm so really it's just a place to sleep) and I added two more guests to my DVC reservation (zero penalty since I can have up to 4 in a room and it's just the two of us). I added one adult and one child the same age as my kiddo. their names are my middle name and kiddo's middle name. I created profiles for them on MDE. I customized the magic bands for all 4 people - you can change the names on them so one is SDFPLisa and one is SDFPkiddo but mine is red and his is green. I figure I can decorate them up for christmas and maybe we won't mind wearing two magic bands. The magic bands tied to our profiles are really just backups too - both of us have vanity MBs for this trip (he has BB8 and I have a recently released dooney and bourke one. yes I am a princess lol). I also declined the magic bands on the rest of my stay - I am entitled to two more each but no reason to have them as we already have our primary magic band, a backup magic band and a SDFP mb linked to two phantom profiles.

of course you can just buy magic bands and you can also buy other people's used ticket media but since I can get them for free from disney, why not? (should I feel a little guilty? I did decline 4 more magic bands that I am entitled to!)

so stage one of my plan to take over the fastpasses is DONE. lol

See, that doesn't bother me at all. The kiosks are located in places where you can swing by on your way in. Also my kiddo is on the spectrum and while he does not rise to the level of needing accommodations for his special needs while at WDW anything I can do to make my life easier and his life more pleasant I will do. So if there is a 40 minute standby wait on buzz but I can get a SDFP for it, it is HUGE for me.

Just FYI the currently earliest available FP's at the MK if I were to go to a kiosk right now (I can see them from MDE but I can't book them on my phantom people without ticket media) is the following (and there are many times after that available):

So honestly I think the SDFP is worthwhile esp if you can grab them first thing in the morning.

last night I checked around 11:15pm with MK closing at midnight so less than an hour from close and there were still several rides I would happily choose to go on that had waits over a half hour, I believe it was buzz, haunted mansion, and pooh were my top 3 picks. Of course you have to get there 3 hours prior to closing to get 3 FPs but I am planning to get to the MK around 7pm one night with a close time of 10 and EMH from 10-midnight. I still think SDFP will be useful then given what I am seeing.

I will be monitoring this throughout the next couple of months to determine what is typically left (touring plans already has a chart for when things typically are sold out as a guide but I prefer to look myself). Also keep in mind my party is of 2 which leaves more choice than larger parties would.

Sorry to be so long. I will detail in my plans when and how I plan to use SDFP though!

I have a Chef Mickey ADR for Sat Dec 3rd at 9:35am for 3 people that I need to cancel. Does anyone want it before I let it go? I don't even know how that would work I just thought I'd ask. I would think if i let it go at the same time someone else wanted it there would be a good chance of them getting it. idk.

people do but I think it is because their kids are super into Disney Jr. @Mintycake is taking hers for that reason. Also I think the breakfast buffets are a different story. I'd go to a convenient one even if I was not THAT interested in the characters because I love breakfast and I love a variety for breakfast (I never know what to order when I have to order from a plated menu and I always get irritated when bacon is an add on item for a ridiculous amount of money lol). If I wanted a PPO at HS I might endure the disney jr characters (maybe). I think both of those reasons are why mintcake is going and I approve. I know she feels SO much better knowing I approve lol.

Just about every character buffet gets better reviews for breakfast than lunch and dinner. The foods are just a lot more univeral and harder to screw up. If the eggs are too runny or too hard who cares? have another mickey waffle and a pile of bacon. ahhhhhh. I think those are good without fail everywhere on disney property.

Actually we are only going so we can sign up for jedi training early. Dd likes doc mcstuffins and jake but she's on the cusp of being too old for disney Jr. She doesn't know handy Manny. I figure it's breakfast you can't mess it up too bad can you?

you can buy UNLINKED (i think you may have to specify that) magic bands. Go into your MDE and create phantom profiles. they don't have to have tickets. they don't have to be staying in your room. they are just "family and friends" linked to your account. Link your MBs to THOSE accounts and you can see their FP+ selections in your MDE on your phone. But yes even with that you still have to manage (make/change/cancel) at a kiosk in the park same day unless you link tickets to them. But instead of having to take a pic of the confirmation screen, those FPs should show up in your MDE. so you can see them there. I think you have to have MBs linked to SOME profile to use them for SDFPs. just don't link them to YOUR profile because then they become clones of your own MBs.

I just saw some recent posts that people reported other rides open and even being able to use the FP+ line on those three rides until noon! I am stalking this ADR.

This was supposed to be my day off. Breakfast at Ohana. swimming. disney springs. then 4:30 F! package at H&V and F! and maybe some FPs there.

But I don't want to give up breakfast at Ohana. I have TP ADR finder set for Thursday 12/8 where I have boma, which I would give up. but still I might just be packing too much stuff in. Starting to worry I don't have enough MK time though.

We have currently planned 12/8 after 5:15 narcoossees dinner (so from 7 - 10pm regular time, then 10-midnight EMH). Then the christmas party after 3:30 Ohana (so from 5pmish - midnight). Then the following day from whenever we get up in the morning but we have CP at 9:50 so it may be like 11 to 5:15ish pm when we make our way out for HDDR.

is that enough? what say you?

That sounds like a lovely day! I thinks it is important to have time like that built into the itinerary to recharge for the busier days. Looks like you've got close to 20 hours in MK? I definitely think that sounds like enough, particularly given that you're familiar with the layout and how FP work and all that good stuff! Sounds positively fantastic to me!!

At the moment, it looks like most Sundays and Tuesdays are the days offered, but only through September. No dates after that yet unfortunately. I'm super duper excited about the prospect though!!

yes I think I like the flow of my trip very much now. Really I am happy doing pooh and 7dmt once each and I can FP PP all 3 MK days if I wanted to!

Also splitting MK over 3 visits gives me 9 planned ahead, and up to 15 same day fastpasses. I should be able to do everything with that!
