What's everyone take in their park bags?

I need to do a trial run to see if the backpack we are planning to take will fit everything. If not, I will have to do more shopping!
We've decided to bring two. In the first backpack, is all the stuff for the girls. For DD1, I have an extra outfit, sun screen, hat, water, and snacks. For DD2 I have disposable sippies, bibs, place mats, outfit, diapers, changing pad (though the baby care centers are amazing!), and snacks. In the bag DH will be carrying will be our wallets, camera, phones, meds, sun screen, water, ponchos, stroller rain cover, portable chargers, gum, and maybe a snack? We'll probably throw a park map in there, even though we're pretty seasoned visitors.

Now, the reason we're bringing two, is because I want to be able to take the bag DH is carrying onto the rides. If for whatever reason someone got a hold of our stroller and our stuff was taken, its nothing we can't live without. It makes me slightly anxious to keep our valuables on the stroller and then walk away. I see it all the time there, but I know even Disney isn't immune to people's foolish decisions.

I bought this yesterday on Amazon. I have the typical huge overstuffed women's wallet normally, but with MBs (and even at Universal), I just don't need much. ID, 1 or 2 credit cards, and some cash. Our plan is to each carry our wallets in our pants pockets, not the bag. We're jeans people so that works for us.

@Lisa F

I just placed our order for our BOG lunch. For the child's Pot Roast, you have these options for sides: Green Beans, Peach Applesauce, Fries or a Chocolate Chip Cookie. There wasn't an option for mashed potatoes.

This is smart! Do any of you guYs know how big of a bag you can bring on the rides? Is a backpack too big?

I have this list for my park bag: 2 sets of extra clothes for DS, wipes, tissue, ziplock bag, camera, external charger, phone, sunscreen, bug spray, ponchos, small blanket, jackets/ hats/ gloves, autograph book, sharpies, hand sanitizer, rain cover, wallet/ cash/ id, photocopy of passport, sippie cup, snacks for DS, rain cover/ share will be in the stroller. thinking about bringing a bowl and utensils for DS... Will probably do the same thing as @pigletgirl and separate the valuables and the stuff I can leave in the stroller. Probably the jackets/ clothes/ blankets will stay. We will also have 2 backpacks.

Is it bulky or heavy, @JamieOak? I'm looking for one too!

It's not as small as most of them. But it has a much larger capacity, so that's expected. Here it is next to my overstuffed wallet. I have the charger and the 2 cables stuffed in the bag it came with. I wouldn't call it heavy, but it's well made so that will add some weight compared to a cheap one made of mostly plastic.

Ok, advice from those of you that have had or will have cars with you at WDW, do you drive or bus to the MK? We're staying at POR and will drive to Epcot and HS, and likely AK too. Torn about what to do with MK.

Our first day we arrive around 11ish and we're going to go straight to park assuming room wasn't ready. We're staying until about 6:30 or so and then Chef mockey for dinner. I don't think really want to pay $20 to park at Contemporary from noon to after our dinner. I had been planning using the bus but am second guessing. I'm wondering if we will want to have our car with us or if the time it takes to get to parking lots makes it a wash anyway? I could always send my DH back to POR a bit early and have him meet us with the car at the contemporary, but that would mean me walking with both kiddos to Chef Mickey which I'm sure is not that hard.

Also, for PPO or AM extra magic hours do you bus as well? Do the buses run frequently that early or if you miss one are you stuck waiting forever? With two kids in car seats uber isn't a good option for us.

We drive our car to all the parks, even MK (although we aren't the biggest fans of driving there). It's easier for hopping or getting to an ADR to just jump in the car and go and not have to rely on Disney transportation to get us somewhere on time. Wouldn't it be easier to just park at MK for free, go to the park and then head to your dinner and get your car after?

@JamieOak I have this for my everyday use and plan to bring it to Disney. Same concept as your thing but with my phone since I normally bring that everywhere anyway :)

I just cancelled a CRT on 12/1 for 2 at 6:45pm (party night). Sorry I picked up a slightly earlier BOG forcing me to cancel.

No, we've taken backpacks on rides before. It won't be as large and bulky as what will be kept under the stroller. You should be okay!

Ah yes, wipes. Duh!

Also, remember cash! We never go to the parks without cash.

I saw those and thought about it. That's a really neat idea. I like my phone more easily accessible in my pocket. I also have it in an Otterbox case (farm life is rough on technology!).

Ahh, I have a iphone 6 plus so it's too big for my pocket even without the case! LOL! I will probably need to bring a small crossbody just for these little things. I've heard they don't accept driver's licenses for Canadians too so I need to bring photocopies of our passports everywhere... such a PITA.

Oh what a pain! I carry a copy of my passport in my huge wallet just in case. I must have big pockets (a minor perk of being a bigger woman I suppose ). My Galaxy S5 with Otterbox case fits in my pocket.

oh thanks for taking the time to let me know... I can order on Tuesday and play with it I guess! I wonder if i can make that swap at the podium. or maybe I will just skip it all together lol. It seems like the sweet potatoes are the default though for kids. I just don't want a HUGE meal. Maybe I will go back to my plan B of getting a soup and splitting the turkey sandwich with kiddo and then sharing a master's cupcake (one or two bites is plenty for me). Kiddo will not eat that entire turkey sandwich or serving of fries, that's for sure. Unless they let me sub a sub (ha ha) roll for the kid's turkey sandwich then maybe I will order a couple of kid's meals... but I suppose at the end of our trip it will be more about experiencing BoG and I should probably do the sensible thing and share the sandwich with him. Even the soup might be too much with half a sandwich!

I was the worst prepared mom in the world ever. I swear when kiddo was little my "diaper bag" consisted of a ziploc bag in which I kept two diapers, a travel pack of wipes and another ziploc for dirty diaper. that's it. that got stuck in my purse. He was exclusively breastfed so I never had to worry about bottles or formula or anything. I never had baggies of goldfish crackers, I never had anything lol. I was NOT the mom to ask "excuse me, do you have a xx?" because I wouldn't have it.

I'm definitely a makeup girl, like the whole nine yards. I kinda have to be though because I'm so naturally pale that if I don't do something people will ask me all day if I'm sick. I'll be the one in the park bathroom with my concealer, powder, and tinted chapstick touching up mid-afternoon. :p

ha, thought I was going to be the only one!! I do full makeup, but generally don't wear mascara. If I'm somewhere hot, yes... a lot will melt off, but oh well. If I'm that hot, by that point, I don't care. I learned 25+ years ago, that a good foundation will protect your skin from the elements and I've always worn it :-)

LOL, I usually have his stuff but forget my stuff. I tend to overpack especially with snacks and need to bring everything back. I guess I need to learn to be a little like you so my back does not kill me by the end of the day :D

I travel light. I think this is a nice way of saying I am generally lazy and unprepared :rotfl:

I will have our sweatshirts. and an abbreviated wallet with cash, driver's license, gift card, one credit card. the rest of my wallet will stay back in the hotel in the safe. phone. IF it is forecast to rain I will bring the ponchos but if not I will leave them. Will start out with one bottle of water in the morning and then buy as we need. I generally wear a hat and apply sunscreen to faces only and might throw a small tube of sunscreen in there but in December it is not as much of an issue. that's about it. I have a soft sided vera bradley disney backpack that I can squish down between my legs on rides.

also to catch up what I am surmising I missed out on based on later posts and quotes...
I don't wear makeup. I barely have the time/gumption to get myself dressed in the morning, let alone put on makeup. Also during grad school this one woman who always came in beautifully done up came in one day without makeup and everyone thought she had cancer or something. I would rather people be used to my normal plain and pallid self than think I am dying of some horrific disease when I get lazy or busy one day.

Also I am not trying to lose 10 lbs before this trip. I can't stop and start like that. After the trip I am planning to try to focus more on the healthy lifestyle again as a lifestyle. I have too much to lose to "binge diet" before a big event, I need to make real changes and the best way to derail myself is to insert a vacation 1 month after I start and then feel like a failure when I can't keep it up (i know myself). So just kind of treading water but now that we got that hour I am considering starting to do a walking video every morning I can to build up some stamina for the trip. That is a worthwhile goal!
